1. General

  • All services provided by Terry’s Tradies are governed by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
  • We reserve the right to refuse service to any party for any reason, including but not limited to safety concerns, abusive behaviour, or suspected unlawful activity.
  • Any quotes or estimates provided are valid for 30 days and apply to standard business hours only (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays).
  • Quotes exceeding $1,000, or those that involve special-order items, cannot proceed or be booked until a minimum 50% deposit has been paid.
  • Engagement of our services constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions in full.

2. Pricing & Payments

  • All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and inclusive of GST, unless otherwise stated.
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated in writing.
  • Invoices will only be issued to approved account customers. All other customers must make full payment on job completion, directly to the technician on site.
  • We accept:
    • Credit Card
    • Bank Transfer (confirmation required at time of transaction)
    • Cash (note: technicians may not carry change)
  • Terry’s Tradies is a paperless business. All receipts and invoices will be emailed only. Please ensure we have your correct email address.
  • Approved account customers are granted 30-day payment terms from the date of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Late payments may incur interest at 10% p.a., and any collection, legal, or administrative costs incurred in recovering the debt will be added to the outstanding amount.

3. Booking, Cancellation & Rescheduling

  • You may reschedule a pre-booked appointment without penalty if you provide at least 2 hours' notice.
  • If a job is cancelled with less than 2 hours' notice, a standard cancellation fee of up to $150 (incl. GST) may apply.
  • If parts have been specially ordered for your job, their cost will be added to the cancellation fee, regardless of notice provided.
  • If a job has commenced and is cancelled before completion, you agree to pay:
    • The full call-out fee
    • All labour hours performed up to that point
    • The cost of any materials used or ordered
  • If no one is present at the site at the agreed time, resulting in a failed attendance, a non-refundable call-out fee will be charged.

4. Warranty & Consumer Guarantees

  • All goods and services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law which cannot be excluded.
  • Terry’s Tradies offers a 12-month workmanship warranty from the date of service, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Warranties for parts and hardware are covered for a period of 12-months.
  • This warranty does not cover:
    • Misuse, abuse, vandalism, or forced entry
    • Faults due to unauthorised third-party modification or installation
    • Environmental wear (e.g., rust or corrosion from salt air)
    • Damaged keys or locks due to foreign objects or excessive force
  • Warranty claims must be submitted in writing, along with a description of the issue, photos where relevant, and proof of service or purchase. Please note that full fees apply if products or services are found to not be covered under warranty as per section 4.4 or 4.3.

5. Liability

  • While we take reasonable care, Terry’s Tradies PTY LTD is not liable for:
    • Damage incurred during lawful entry to premises or vehicles
    • Existing wear, damage, or defects
    • Loss of use, time, or income as a result of delays or service issues
  • Our total liability is, to the extent permitted by law, limited to:
    • The resupply of the service, or
    • The cost of having the services resupplied, at our discretion

6. Security & Access

  • You are responsible for ensuring lawful access to the premises, property or vehicle.
  • By engaging us, you warrant that you are the lawful owner or authorised person for the property or vehicle to be serviced.
  • We may require identification or proof of ownership prior to carrying out certain services (e.g., vehicle openings, lockouts, key duplications).

7. Intellectual Property & Confidentiality

  • Any system designs, master key charts or documents we provide remain the intellectual property of Terry’s Tradies unless expressly sold or transferred.
  • We adhere to Australian privacy and data protection standards. Any personal information you provide is used solely to perform the agreed service or for business recordkeeping.

8. Emergency & After-Hours Work

  • After-hours work (outside 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Mon–Fri) may incur additional service charges, which will be communicated during booking.
  • While we aim to respond to emergencies, availability is not guaranteed and is subject to technician scheduling.
  • Priority is given to jobs involving safety risks or property security.

9. Amendments

  • We may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The most current version will always be made available on our website or provided upon request.
  • Continued use of our services following any amendments constitutes acceptance of those changes.
