Two ways to get a key cut

Before ordering

Identify the lock model, since the keyway follows the cylinder rather than the brand
Check whether the keyway is restricted, which requires proof of authorisation to duplicate
Order at least two spares and store one away from the property
Photograph the key code if one is printed on the cylinder or supplied with the lock
