Vault Mortice Comparison Guide
Use this table to identify the correct Vault mortice type for your door application. Mortice type, pitch, backset range and door style must all match the lock system being installed.
These mortice types are not interchangeable. Door type, pitch, backset and lock geometry must match the lock system being installed. Sliding hook mortices are for sliding doors only, while the 6068 smart mortice uses a different 68mm pitch and should not be confused with standard 85mm Euro mortice systems.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What type of door is this lock suitable for?
This mortice is designed specifically for sliding doors and is not suitable for hinged swing doors. - What is the difference between 2085 and 2885?
The difference is the backset. The 2085 is 20mm, while the 2885 is 28mm, which affects handle positioning from the door edge. - Can this be used with smart locks?
This depends on the smart lock model. It is primarily used with sliding door smart lock systems designed for hook mortices. - What does hook bolt mean?
A hook bolt engages into a strike plate when lifted or rotated, providing secure locking for sliding doors. - Is this interchangeable with standard mortice locks?
No. This lock is specific to sliding door applications and is not compatible with standard latch or deadbolt mortice systems.
