Lockwood Integral USB Card Encoder – RFID MIFARE Access Management Programmer

The Lockwood Integral USB Card Encoder is the programming device used to issue and manage RFID credentials within the ASSA ABLOY Integral Wireless Access Control system. It connects directly to a Windows computer and allows authorised administrators to create, modify and cancel access cards used by Integral escutcheon locksets.

The encoder supports the ISO14443A MIFARE® RFID credential platform used across the Integral system and enables administrators to assign access permissions, manage card lifecycles and read audit trail data collected from door locks.

This device forms part of the Integral Access Management ecosystem, which provides a wire-free data-on-card access control architecture capable of managing large installations without requiring network cabling to each door.

FAQ

What does the Integral encoder do?
It programs and manages RFID cards used within the ASSA ABLOY Integral access control system.

Can it create new user cards?
Yes. The encoder allows administrators to issue, modify and cancel Integral user cards.

Does it work with all RFID cards?
It works with Integral system credentials using ISO14443A MIFARE technology.

Does it require network connectivity?
No. The encoder connects via USB to a computer running Integral management software.

Can it read audit data from locks?
Yes. Audit trail information stored on cards or locks can be retrieved using the encoder.

Additional Information

The Integral platform uses a data-on-card architecture where access permissions are stored directly on RFID credentials rather than requiring constant communication with a central server. This allows wireless locksets to operate independently while still supporting large scale credential management.

Each Integral installation requires at least one encoder connected to the management software in order to create and update user cards. Larger sites may operate multiple encoders to support several administrators simultaneously.

The system can scale to large installations with thousands of doors and unlimited users, making it suitable for accommodation facilities, commercial buildings and multi-site organisations.
