The KAS Mifare S50 RFID Card (MCM250) is a blank, white 13.56 MHz high-frequency card credential supplied with a printed UID (Unique Identifier). It is designed for use with KAS access control systems including KASAccess, KAS Cloud Console, Lock-S Software, and LMS, and is compatible with the KAS NEO Cloud Lock, KAS ACR2 Reader, and KAS Platinum Lock platforms. The card arrives unprogrammed — it has no access rights loaded onto it. The UID is a fixed, factory-assigned number printed on the card body. This number is entered or scanned during enrolment to assign the card to a user and grant access to the relevant doors. No card reader is required to retrieve the UID before enrolment, since it is printed directly on the card.

Mifare S50 credentials provide higher data protection than magnetic stripe cards. Contactless operation means no physical read head contact occurs during use, eliminating the primary wear mechanism of magnetic stripe credentials. The chip is also resistant to data loss from proximity to other emitting devices. The contactless read range is short by design — the card must be held close to the reader face to authenticate.
The UID printed on this card is a fixed, factory-assigned identifier and cannot be changed. When enrolling, use the printed UID exactly as shown. Keep a record of which UID is assigned to which user for efficient credential management — particularly on larger sites. On KAS NEO and ACR systems, each credential is assigned a user ID within the lock (ID range 00-99 for locally managed locks). See the KAS NEO Access Methods section for credential capacity context.
While Mifare S50 credentials are more secure than magnetic stripe, RFID cards can theoretically be read by relay attack devices if brought into very close proximity. For high-security environments, consider whether RFID alone meets your security requirements, or whether a dual-credential approach (RFID + PIN) on a compatible reader is appropriate.
