The McGrath Hamilton Smart Lock is a versatile, trade-grade digital lock designed for Australian residential and commercial applications. It offers five access methods in a single platform, including fingerprint recognition, and supports compliant installation on fire-rated doors when fitted in approved configurations. The Hamilton is supplied as a tubular latch solution out of the box and is also compatible with common Australian commercial mortice locks.

Key Features
- Five-in-one smart lock supporting keypad PIN, RFID cards or tags, fingerprint recognition, Bluetooth eKeys, and mechanical key override.
- Supplied with a door sensor for optional door position monitoring and activity alerts within the McGrath Locks App.
- Anti-peep PIN entry allows random digits before or after the correct code to reduce observation risk.
- Incorrect attempt lock-out activates after repeated failed access attempts.
- Reset button can be disabled via the app for additional security.
- Passage mode allows the door to remain unlocked when required.
- Audit trail within the app records door access events.
- Managed locally via Bluetooth, with remote management available when paired with a compatible Wi-Fi gateway.
- DDA compliant lever design suitable for accessible door applications.
- IP66 rated external housing for dust and high-pressure water resistance.
Access Methods
Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 4 × AA alkaline batteries (not included).
- Terry's Locksmiths STRONGLY recommends Duracell above any other battery brand
- Low battery alerts visible in the McGrath Locks App and audible at the lock.
- Typical battery life up to 12 months (based on approximately 10 uses per day).
- USB-C emergency power port allows temporary operation via power bank.
- Mechanical key override provided for emergency access.
- User access credentials are retained during battery replacement.
Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)
This smart lock does not include native Wi-Fi connectivity. Remote access and management features are available only when the lock is paired with a compatible McGrath Locks gateway.
When a gateway is installed, users can remotely unlock the door, issue or revoke access credentials, and view access activity through the McGrath Locks App from anywhere with an internet connection.

Fire Rated
- Fire rated up to 2 hours when installed on Firecore or E-Core doorsets.
- Fire performance applies only when installed with approved latch or mortice lock configurations.
- Supplied tubular latch and approved mortice locks have been assessed for use in fire-rated systems.
- Fire compliance is system-based and limited by the Fire Resistance Level of the complete doorset.

Does the Hamilton require internet access to operate?
No. The lock operates via Bluetooth without internet. Wi-Fi remote access requires an optional gateway.
Is the Hamilton supplied with a mortice lock?
No. The lock is supplied with a tubular latch. Compatible mortice locks are specified separately.
Is the Hamilton suitable for fire-rated doors?
