Lockwood 002 Digital DX Mechanical Deadlatch for Open-Out Doors - 60mm Backset - Satin Chrome (002-4KDXSC)

The Lockwood 002-4KDXSC is a mechanical digital deadlatch designed for open-out hinged doors, including timber doors and metal frame doors. It provides keyless entry by keypad without batteries, wiring, electronics, app connectivity or smart home integration.

This model is part of the Lockwood Digital DX range, developed for controlled access in commercial areas where combination changes may be required to maintain security. It is also suitable for selected residential applications where a simple, battery-free keypad lock is preferred.

The outside is operated by pressing the C button, entering the correct code, then turning the outside knob. When the knob is released, the code is automatically cancelled. The inside knob is free at all times for straightforward exit.

This is a surface-mounted deadlatch with a 60mm backset, 18mm stainless steel bolt projection, door frame strengthener, and a clutching mechanism that allows the outside knob to rotate under attack without operating or damaging the lock.

FAQ icon Frequently Asked Questions

Does this lock need batteries or wiring?
No. The 002-4KDXSC is a fully mechanical digital lock. It does not require batteries, mains power, app pairing or electrical wiring.

Can the code be changed from the front keypad?
No. This model does not support on-door code change. The factory-set 5 digit code can be changed to a 4, 5 or 6 digit code using the supplied code change kit.

Is this the correct model for an open-out door?
Yes. This item code is the open-out door version and is also stated as suitable for timber or metal frame open-out doors.

Does it have free egress from the inside?
Yes. The inside knob is free at all times. The bolt hold-back function can also be activated by rotating the inside knob past 90 degrees.

Does this model have a key override cylinder?
No. This version does not include key override. Access from the outside is by keypad and knob only.

Additional information icon Additional Information

  • This is a mechanical deadlatch with keypad access, not a smart lock and not an electronic digital lock.
  • The 002-4KDXSC is a specific application model. Do not assume the standard inward-opening 002 Digital DX will suit the same door preparation.
  • The clutching mechanism is a key part of the product. Under forced attack, the outside knob can rotate without driving the lock, helping reduce mechanism damage.
  • The lock is commonly suited to commercial areas where a single shared code is acceptable and regular code changes may be needed.
  • Because this model accepts one PIN code only, it is not suited to sites requiring separate user credentials, audit trails or scheduled access.
  • No fire test data has been supplied for this specific item code. Treat it as not fire rated / not tested unless project documentation states otherwise.
  • Access and mobility compliance is listed as No. Do not specify it as DDA compliant or AS1428 compliant without separate confirmed project documentation.
  • Confirm door thickness, opening direction, frame type and strike arrangement before ordering. This is especially important because the product is special order and non-returnable.
