The McGrath Ashgrove is a premium smart digital deadbolt designed and developed specifically for the Australian market. Featuring a tempered glass keypad with raised buttons and braille markings, the Ashgrove is engineered for durability, accessibility, and everyday usability across residential and light-commercial environments.
Managed via the McGrath Locks App using Bluetooth as standard, access can be granted via PIN codes, RFID credentials, Bluetooth eKeys, or a mechanical key override. Optional remote access is available when paired with a compatible McGrath Locks Wi-Fi gateway. The lock is supplied with a door position sensor for optional door-open monitoring and audit functionality.

Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)
This smart lock does not include native Wi-Fi connectivity. Remote access and management features are available only when the lock is paired with a compatible McGrath Locks gateway. When a gateway is installed, users can remotely unlock the door, issue or revoke access credentials, and view access activity through the McGrath Locks App from anywhere with an internet connection. Frequently Asked Questions
Is the McGrath Ashgrove a full door lock or just a deadbolt?
The Ashgrove is a deadbolt-only smart lock. It does not include a handle or latch mechanism and is designed to be installed alongside an existing passage or privacy handle.
Does the Ashgrove have built-in Wi-Fi?
No. The Ashgrove does not include native Wi-Fi. Remote access is available only when the lock is paired with a compatible McGrath Locks Wi-Fi gateway.
Can this lock be used on sliding doors?
No. The Ashgrove is designed for hinged (swing) doors only and is not suitable for sliding door applications.
What happens when the internal privacy switch is activated?
When privacy mode is engaged, all external access methods are disabled except for the Administrator account and the mechanical key override. This is commonly used for overnight or private occupancy scenarios.
Is the braille keypad compliant with disability access standards?
The raised buttons and braille markings improve usability and accessibility, however the Ashgrove is not certified as DDA or AS1428.1 compliant.
Additional Information
- The Ashgrove is supplied with a rekeyable PD cylinder, allowing it to be keyed alike to existing locks or reconfigured by a locksmith.
- The supplied door position sensor enables optional door open/close monitoring within the McGrath Locks App when correctly installed.
- For door thicknesses greater than 60 mm, optional extension hardware may be required. Door thickness should always be confirmed prior to ordering.
- The tempered glass keypad is designed for durability but should be installed in sheltered locations to maximise long-term performance.
