Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock
The Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock is a residential smart lock designed specifically for the Australian market and certified to Australian Standard AS4145.2:2008, Security Level SL6 and Durability Level D7. A winner of the International Good Design Award 2022, the Unity Security Screen Door Lock provides keyless entry via the Yale Home App, contactless key tags, or the optional Yale Smart Keypad (sold separately), without the need for a physical key.
Via the Yale Home App on iOS or Android, you can lock and unlock the door, grant virtual key access to guests, and monitor the 24/7 activity feed when your phone is within Bluetooth range of the lock. Apple HomeKit is built into the lock and works without any additional accessories. Auto-unlock activates as you approach home using a combination of your phone's GPS and Bluetooth - the door unlocks as you walk up, without reaching for your phone.
The lock features patented digital deadlocking technology that locks both the internal and external door handles when activated via the app or contactless key tag. Three LED-indicated locking modes are provided: Unlock (green), Locked (yellow), and Secure (red). A built-in door position sensor monitors whether the door is open or closed, preventing inadvertent locking while the door is ajar. The lock is 100% key-free and suits new installations or retrofits over Lockwood 8654, Whitco Tasman Mk2, and Yale Quattro screen door locks.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What can this lock do without the Connect Plus Hub 2?
Without the hub, the lock is controlled via Bluetooth. You can lock and unlock via the Yale Home App when your phone is nearby, use the included contactless key tags, enable auto-unlock (uses GPS and Bluetooth as you approach), control via Apple HomeKit and Siri, and view the activity feed when in range. Remote access from outside Bluetooth range, Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and DualDoor Technology all require the Connect Plus Hub 2 (sold separately). - Does this lock suit any security screen door?
It suits doors 18-25mm thick and fits industry-standard screen door cutouts. It retrofits Lockwood 8654, Whitco Tasman Mk2, and Yale Quattro screen door locks. It is not suitable for applications where the internal escutcheon is directly exposed to outside elements such as an outdoor gate. - Is the Smart Keypad compatible with this lock?
Yes. The Yale Smart Keypad (item code 05/301000/BL) is sold separately and connects via Bluetooth directly to the lock. It does not require the Connect Plus Hub 2. The Lock + Smart Keypad bundle is also available as YUR/SSDL/KP/SIL. - Does auto-unlock work without the Connect Plus Hub 2?
Yes. Auto-unlock uses your phone's GPS to detect when you leave and return, and communicates with the lock via Bluetooth when you are within range. The hub is not required for auto-unlock. The hub is required for remote access when you are not near the lock. - What 3-point locking kit is compatible, and is it included?
The 3-point locking kit is not included. The compatible kit is the hook bolt version (item code 8654-3PK). Projection bolt kits are not compatible. Customers retrofitting from a projection bolt system may require door frame and strike modifications first.
Additional Information
- Bluetooth Range and App Control:
The lock communicates with the Yale Home App and Smart Keypad over Bluetooth. App control, activity feed viewing, and PIN code management all require the phone to be within Bluetooth range of the lock. For operation from outside that range, the Connect Plus Hub 2 (sold separately) is required. - Apple HomeKit Without Additional Hardware:
Apple HomeKit is built into the lock and works without the Connect Plus Hub 2. Siri voice commands, the Home app, and HomeKit automations all function at the lock level. Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings require the hub. - 3-Point Locking Kit - Installation Note:
Only the hook bolt 3-point kit (8654-3PK) is compatible. Projection bolt kits are not suitable. Customers retrofitting from a projection bolt system may need door frame and strike modifications first. - Secure Mode Safety Requirement:
Secure Mode locks both internal and external handles, preventing egress from inside. It must not be activated while the building is occupied. It can be deactivated by tapping the app or holding a contactless key tag to the reader. - Retrofit Cutout Compatibility:
While this lock retrofits several common screen door locks, the cutout in the door stile must match industry-standard dimensions. Where it does not, the installer will need to carry out additional routing before installation.
