Borg BL2606 MG Pro ECP Mechanical Digital Knob Lock – Sliding Door Hook Bolt – Easicode Pro – Marine Grade – Black
The Borg BL2606 MG Pro ECP is a fully mechanical digital knob lock fitted with a hook bolt specifically designed for sliding doors and pedestrian sliding gates. The hook bolt engages with the door frame strike when the sliding door is closed, automatically securing it without any manual bolt throw. To open from outside, the correct PIN code is entered; the inside knob is always free to turn for immediate egress. The lock is part of the Marine Grade Pro series, finished in MG Pro 2 black marine grade coating and tested to 1,000 hours of continuous salt spray exposure.
The BL2606 MG Pro ECP uses the Easicode Pro (ECP) system, allowing the PIN code to be changed while the lock is installed on the door or gate using the included code change key – no lock removal required. A code change disabling plug is also included to prevent unauthorised code changes once the code is set. The lock is fully mechanical, requires no batteries, and has no wiring of any kind.
For a hinged door application requiring a rim-mounted deadbolt, see the BL2605 MG Pro. A satin chrome version of the BL2606 is also available for non-marine applications.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
The BL2606 uses a hook bolt instead of a tubular latch or rim deadbolt. The hook bolt is shaped to engage correctly with the sliding door frame strike as the door moves into the closed position. It is not suitable for hinged doors. Two strikes are included – a universal sliding door strike and a flat strike – to suit a range of aluminium and timber sliding door frame types.
The hook bolt engages with the strike plate automatically as the sliding door is pulled closed. No code entry or manual bolt throw is needed to lock the door. To open from outside, enter the code; the inside knob is always free to turn for egress at any time.
The BL2606 MG Pro ECP uses Borg's MG Pro 2 marine grade external coating, providing increased protection against saltwater corrosion and UV degradation. 316 stainless steel internal components for superior corrosion resistance. Suitable for pool gates, waterfront properties, marina facilities, and coastal environments.
Tested to 1,000 continuous hours of salt spray exposure. Coding chamber specifically designed to resist saltwater corrosion. Borg warrants corrosion resistance for 12 months from date of sale.
The PIN code can be changed while the lock is installed using the included code change key. No lock removal, no tools, no special knowledge required. A code change disabling plug is also included to prevent unauthorised code changes once the code is set by an administrator.
Entirely mechanical. No power source, no wiring, and no battery maintenance at any point in the product's lifetime.
For heavy duty: consider the Lockwood DX, Borg 7701, or Carbine CDL7000 Series.
The BL2606 MG Pro ECP accepts one active PIN code at a time. Multiple codes cannot be stored simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does this use a hook bolt instead of a standard latch or deadbolt?
Sliding doors and gates operate differently from hinged doors – they move laterally rather than swinging. A tubular spring latch or rim deadbolt cannot engage correctly with a sliding frame. The hook bolt is specifically shaped to hook into the sliding door frame strike as the door moves into the closed position, providing secure engagement suited to the lateral movement of a sliding door or gate.
Does the door lock automatically when I slide it closed?
Yes. When the sliding door is pulled closed, the hook bolt engages with the strike plate automatically. No code entry or manual bolt throw is required to secure the door. To open from outside, enter the PIN code. The inside knob is always free to turn, allowing you to open the door from inside without any code entry.
How do I change the PIN code?
With the door in the open position, enter the current code, insert the included code change key into the hole in the * button and hold it down, press C to clear the existing code, enter your new code, release the code change key, then press C to confirm. Test the new code at least five times before closing the door. If a mistake is made during entry, press C to cancel and start again.
Which strike should I use – universal or flat?
Two strikes are included. The universal strike suits most standard aluminium sliding door frame profiles and allows the hook bolt to engage correctly with the frame track. The flat strike is for timber-framed or flat-profile frame applications where the universal strike does not align. Select the strike that suits your frame profile during installation and trial-fit before fixing permanently.
What is the difference between the BL2606 and the BL2605?
The BL2605 MG Pro uses a rim-fixed deadbolt and is designed for hinged doors – the bolt must be manually thrown from inside to lock. The BL2606 MG Pro ECP uses a hook bolt for sliding doors that auto-engages when the door closes. The BL2606 also includes Easicode Pro for on-door code change. If your door or gate slides, the BL2606 is the correct product.
Additional Information
The hook bolt must engage cleanly and squarely with the strike on every close cycle. Trial-fit the chosen strike before final fixing and check that the hook bolt enters the strike opening without binding or requiring force. A misaligned strike will cause the bolt to fail to engage, or will create excessive wear over time. The universal strike suits the majority of standard aluminium sliding gate and door frame profiles used in Australian residential construction.
The BL2606 MG Pro ECP suits doors and gates from 35mm to 54mm thick. This covers the majority of standard Australian aluminium sliding gate sections. If your gate frame section is thicker than 54mm, confirm compatibility before ordering as an alternative product or custom spindle length may be required.
Once inserted into the code change hole on the * button, the disabling plug prevents the Easicode Pro code change procedure from being initiated on the door. This is useful in managed or shared-access environments where only an administrator should be able to change the code. The plug is removable if code change access needs to be reinstated.
Monthly: clean the keypad and hook bolt surfaces with a light spray of silicon-based lubricant (such as GT85); remove excess with a soft cloth. Do not use oil-based lubricants such as WD-40. Annually: remove the lock and spray internally through the button holes; test all buttons, the knob, and the hook bolt operation. Refer to the Borg Servicing Guide PDF for full instructions.
The BL2606 MG Pro ECP provides keyless access and auto-engages on door closing, which aligns with the self-latching requirement of the Queensland Pool Safety Standard under the Building Act 1975. However, full pool gate compliance involves additional requirements including self-closing mechanisms, height restrictions, and latch positioning. Confirm compliance with a licensed pool safety inspector before specifying any lock for a pool gate.
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled — doing so will invalidate the warranty.
