Borg BL2506 ECP Mechanical Digital Knob Lock – Sliding Door Hook Bolt – Easicode Pro – Satin Chrome

The Borg BL2506 ECP is a fully mechanical digital knob lock fitted with a hook bolt specifically designed for sliding doors. The hook bolt engages with the door frame strike automatically when the sliding door is closed, securing it without any manual bolt throw. To open from outside, the correct PIN code is entered on the keypad; the inside knob is always free to turn for immediate egress at any time. The lock requires no code to lock — only to open.

The BL2506 ECP uses Easicode Pro (ECP) on-door code change, allowing the PIN to be changed while the lock is installed using the included code change key — no lock removal required. A code change disabling plug is also included to prevent unauthorised code changes once the code is set. Finished in satin chrome. Fully mechanical, no batteries. Suits doors from 35mm to 54mm thick. Suitable for internal use.

For a marine grade black version suitable for coastal and outdoor sliding door applications, see the BL2606MGPROECP.

Estimated Warehouse Dispatch
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
Hook Bolt – Designed Specifically for Sliding Doors
The BL2506 uses a hook bolt instead of a tubular latch or rim deadbolt. The hook bolt is shaped to engage correctly with the sliding door frame strike as the door moves into the closed position. It is not suitable for hinged doors. Two strikes are included — a universal sliding door strike and a flat strike — to suit a range of aluminium and timber sliding door frame types.
Auto-Engages When Sliding Door Closes – No Manual Locking Required
The hook bolt engages with the strike plate automatically as the sliding door is pulled closed. No code entry or manual bolt throw is needed to lock the door. To open from outside, enter the code; the inside knob is always free to turn for egress at any time.
Easicode Pro – On-Door Code Change
The PIN code can be changed while the lock is installed using the included code change key. Insert the key into the ★ (star) button, press and hold, press C to clear, enter new code, confirm, then release. No lock removal, no tools. A code change disabling plug is also included to prevent unauthorised code changes once set by an administrator.
Fully Mechanical – No Batteries Required
Entirely mechanical. No power source, no wiring, and no battery maintenance at any point in the product's lifetime.
Designed for light to medium usage areas – internal use
Not suitable for high traffic commercial or outdoor coastal use
For marine grade black (coastal/outdoor): BL2606MGPROECP. For heavy duty: Borg 7701.
Single PIN Code Only
Accepts one active PIN code at a time. Multiple codes cannot be stored simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this use a hook bolt instead of a standard latch or deadbolt?

Sliding doors move laterally rather than swinging, so a standard spring latch or rim deadbolt cannot engage correctly with a sliding frame. The hook bolt is specifically shaped to hook into the strike as the door slides into the closed position, providing secure engagement suited to lateral door movement. A standard tubular latch or deadbolt will not work on a sliding door.

Does the door lock automatically when I slide it closed?

Yes. When the sliding door is pulled closed, the hook bolt engages with the strike automatically. No code entry or manual bolt throw is needed to secure the door. To open from outside, enter the PIN code. The inside knob is always free to turn, so you can open the door from inside without any code entry.

How do I change the PIN code with ECP?

With the door in the open position, enter the current code. Insert the included code change key into the hole in the ★ (star) button and press fully, holding it down. Press C to clear the existing code. Enter your new code. Release the code change key. Press C to confirm the new code is set. Test the new code at least five times before closing the door. If a mistake is made during entry, press C to cancel and re-enter from the new code digits without releasing the key.

Which strike should I use – universal or flat?

Two strikes are included. The universal strike suits most standard aluminium sliding door frame profiles and allows the hook bolt to engage correctly with the frame track. The flat strike is for timber-framed or flat-profile frame applications where the universal strike does not align. Trial-fit the chosen strike before fixing permanently and check the hook bolt engages cleanly without binding.

What is the difference between BL2506SCECP and BL2606MGPROECP?

Both use a hook bolt for sliding doors and have ECP on-door code change. The BL2506SCECP is finished in satin chrome and is suitable for internal sliding doors. The BL2606MGPROECP is finished in MG Pro 2 black marine grade coating with 316 stainless steel internals, tested to 1,000 hours salt spray, and is suitable for external, coastal, poolside, and marine environments. Choose BL2506SCECP for internal satin chrome applications; choose BL2606MGPROECP for any outdoor or coastal installation.

Can the code change function be disabled?

Yes. The included code change disabling plug can be inserted into the ★ button hole on the exterior keypad. This physically prevents the ECP code change procedure from being initiated from outside the door. The plug is removable if code change access needs to be reinstated. Useful in managed or shared-access environments where only an administrator should be able to change the code.

Additional Information

Strike Selection and Alignment:
The hook bolt must engage cleanly and squarely with the strike on every close cycle. Trial-fit the chosen strike before final fixing and check that the hook bolt enters the strike opening without binding or requiring force. A misaligned strike will cause the bolt to fail to engage or will create excessive wear over time. The universal strike suits the majority of standard aluminium sliding door frame profiles used in Australian residential construction.
Door Thickness Range – 35 to 54mm:
The BL2506SCECP suits doors from 35mm to 54mm thick. This covers the majority of standard Australian aluminium and timber sliding door sections. Confirm door thickness before ordering.
ECP Code Change Method – ★ Button:
The BL2000/BL2500 ECP series uses the ★ (star) button to initiate code change — different from the BL5000 ECP series which uses the Φ button. Always test the new code at least 5 times before closing the door. Use the included disabling plug after setting to prevent unauthorised changes.
Internal Use Only:
The BL2506SCECP is listed for internal use in satin chrome. It is not rated for direct weather exposure, coastal environments, or outdoor installation. For any outdoor, poolside, beachside, or coastal sliding door application, specify the BL2606MGPROECP (MG Pro 2 marine grade, 1,000hr salt spray tested).
