Frequently Asked Questions
Can the CDL2 deadbolt fit a smaller bore hole?
Yes. The CDL2 deadbolt fits a standard 54mm (2-1/8") bore, or a smaller 38mm (1-1/2") bore by removing the adapter collar with a flat-head screwdriver. Confirm your door bore size before ordering.
Can the CDL2 deadbolt use a restricted or TES5 keyway?
No. The CDL2 deadbolt uses the LKW5 (Silca LW4) keyway and cannot be fitted with a restricted or TES5 keyway. For restricted keying, see the CEL or CEL2 range (C4 keyway).
What is the difference between single-use codes and user codes?
User codes (up to 10) can be used multiple times. Single-use codes (up to 5, 4 digits only) are deleted automatically after a single use — useful for one-time tradesperson or delivery access.
What batteries does this lock use?
The CDL2 deadbolt uses 4 × AA alkaline batteries (Duracell Procell recommended). Low battery warning via indicator light before full depletion.
My door is not within 35–51mm thick or 60–70mm backset — will this lock fit?
This lock requires 35–51mm door thickness and 60–70mm backset. Outside these ranges it is not compatible. See: Buyers Guide Ch02: Measuring Your Door · How to measure your backset
Additional Information

My CDL2 deadbolt is not locking or unlocking correctly after installation — what should I check?
Make sure the bolt is in the retracted position before installing the exterior assembly, there is no key in the cylinder during installation, and the torque blade is inserted horizontally.
