Borg BL4441 MG Pro ECP Mechanical Digital Gate Lock – Lever/Lever Back-to-Back – Marine Grade Pro – Easicode Pro – Black
The Borg BL4441 MG Pro ECP is a fully mechanical Marine Grade Pro digital lock in a back-to-back lever/lever configuration. Both sides of the gate have a full keypad — the correct PIN is required to operate the gate from outside or inside. It is designed for external wooden and timber gates and doors, using the same lever keypad housing as the BL3400 series but supplied with a 60mm anti-thrust tubular latch. Marine Grade Pro construction with 316 stainless steel internal components and MG Pro black coating delivers 1,000 hours of continuous salt spray resistance.
Easicode Pro (ECP) allows the PIN to be changed on the door without removing the lock. Over 4,000 code combinations are available. The lock is fully mechanical, requires no batteries, and accepts doors and gates from 35mm to 80mm thick.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
The BL4441 has a full keypad and lever on both the outside and inside of the gate. The same PIN code operates both sides. A code must be entered to open the gate from either direction — there is no free egress from inside without entering the code.
Unlike single-sided models, a code must be entered on the inside keypad to operate the gate. Confirm this suits your application and complies with any applicable fire egress or building regulations before purchasing.
316 stainless steel internal components with MG Pro black marine external grade coating. Tested to 1,000 continuous hours of salt spray. Suitable for coastal, beachside, canal-front, and marine environments.
Borg warrants corrosion resistance for 12 months from date of sale under specified conditions.
The PIN code can be changed while the lock is installed using the included code change key. No lock removal required. An optional code change disabling plug is included to prevent unauthorised code changes once set.
Entirely mechanical. No power source, no wiring, and no battery maintenance at any point.
For heavy duty: consider the Lockwood DX, Borg 7701, or Carbine CDL7000 Series.
The BL4441 MG Pro ECP accepts one active PIN code at a time. The same code operates both keypads.
Installing on a narrow aluminium gate frame?
Planning to mount a Borg BL4441 on an external gate with a 50mm × 50mm (or larger) aluminium frame?
Worried the standard 60mm latch included in the box won't fit?
You're right — it won't.
To fit correctly on aluminium gate frames, you'll need the correct extended latch.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the BL4441 and the BL4401?
The BL4401 is a single-sided lock – keypad outside, free-turning inside lever. No code is required to exit from inside. The BL4441 is the back-to-back version – both sides have a full keypad, and a code is required to operate the gate from either direction. Choose the BL4401 where you only need to control who enters; choose the BL4441 where you need to control both entry and exit.
Can I use two different codes on each keypad?
No. The BL4441 MG Pro ECP accepts a single PIN code which operates both keypads simultaneously. It is not possible to set different codes on each side.
How do I change the PIN code?
With the gate in the open position, enter the current code. Insert the Easicode Pro code change key into the hole in the * button and hold it fully pressed. Press C to clear the existing code, enter your new code, then press the new code digits once more to confirm. Release the key from *, then press C or rotate the lever to finalise. Test the new code at least five times before closing the gate. The same new code will now operate both keypads.
Is this lock suitable for pool gate compliance in Queensland?
The BL4441 auto-latches when the gate closes, which aligns with the self-latching requirement. However, because a code is required to exit from inside, the lock's inside operation must be assessed against pool safety standards regarding emergency egress. A licensed pool safety inspector should confirm compliance before installation. The BL4401 (single-sided, free inside lever) is more commonly used for pool gate applications where free egress from the pool area is required.
Does this lock work on aluminium gate frames?
The BL4441 is designed for wooden and timber gates. For aluminium frame gates (50mm × 50mm or similar), the standard 60mm tubular latch will not align correctly with the frame. An extended latch (BLS272000) is required. For purpose-built metal box-section gate locks, consider the BL3430 back-to-back series instead.
Additional Information
Unlike the single-sided BL4401, the BL4441 does not have a holdback function. Both sides always require code entry to operate the lever. If you need a holdback for free through-passage during working hours or loading periods, the BL4401 (single-sided) is the appropriate choice, as its inside lever can be held in the open position.
Monthly: clean both keypad and lever surfaces with a light spray of silicon-based lubricant (GT85 or equivalent); remove excess with a soft cloth. Do not use oil-based lubricants. Annually: remove the lock and spray internally through the button holes; test all buttons and the lever. Refer to the Borg Servicing Guide PDF for full maintenance instructions.
The 60mm backset tubular latch is supplied in the box. 50mm and 70mm backset latches are available separately. Confirm the correct backset before installation and order the appropriate latch if required before starting the job.
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled — doing so will invalidate the warranty.
