dormakaba Rosé Biometric Digital Door Lock – 60mm Backset – Silver

The dormakaba Rosé is a lever-format biometric digital door lock designed for internal door applications. It provides two access methods — fingerprint and PIN code — using a capacitive touch keypad on the outside lever and a built-in fingerprint sensor. No mechanical key is included; the lock stores credentials electronically and uses USB-C emergency power if batteries are depleted.

The Rosé is non-handed and retrofits directly to any standard Australian lever set preparation with a 25mm latch hole, 54mm lock hole, and 60mm backset. It is supplied complete with a dormakaba 60mm backset tubular deadlatch and three AAA batteries. Three operating modes are available — Standard, Passage, and Dual User — configured via the voice-guided programming menu on the lock body.

The lock supports up to 202 credentials in total: 2 master codes and 200 user fingerprints or PIN codes. The Silver finish (DKROSESIL) is the current available variant. The Black finish has been discontinued.

Notice
Black Finish Discontinued
The dormakaba Rosé in Matt Black (DKROSEBLK) has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. The Silver finish (DKROSESIL) is the current stocked variant.

Battery, Power & Backup Access

  • Powered by 3 x AAA alkaline batteries, included in the box.
  • The lock uses voice and tone alerts to indicate low battery.
  • USB-Type C emergency power port at the end of the outside lever allows temporary operation from a portable power bank when batteries are fully depleted, enabling the door to be unlocked while replacement batteries are obtained.
  • There is no mechanical key override. If batteries are depleted and no USB-C power bank is available, physical access to the inside of the door via another route will be required to access the reset button or replace the batteries.

Operating Modes

The Rosé supports three operating modes, configured via the voice-guided programming menu:

  • Standard Mode — A single code or fingerprint is required to unlock. This is the default mode and suits most internal door applications.
  • Passage Mode — The outside lever turns freely without a credential, providing unrestricted access. Useful during periods of frequent access such as deliveries or open events. Passage mode activates the next time a user code or fingerprint is used to unlock after setting.
  • Dual User Mode — Two separate credentials are required to unlock — two codes, two fingerprints, or one of each in sequence. Useful where two-person authorisation is a requirement. Master codes override Dual User Mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a mechanical key backup?

No. The Rosé does not include a mechanical key override. If batteries are fully depleted, access is restored by supplying temporary power through the USB-C port on the outside lever using a portable power bank. A factory reset (hold the reset button on the inside lever for 8 seconds) restores the lock to default mode if credentials are lost, but requires access to the inside of the door. For installations where a key backup is a requirement, consider a smart lock with an integrated cylinder override such as the dormakaba M5 BLE.

Does the lock retain credentials when batteries are replaced?

Yes. Fingerprints and PIN codes are stored in the lock's internal memory and are not lost when batteries are changed. Replace batteries when the lock indicates low battery via voice or tone alert — do not wait until the lock stops functioning.

What is the factory default code, and does it need to be changed?

In factory default mode the lock unlocks with the code 123456# or any registered fingerprint. A new master code must be set as the first step before any user codes or fingerprints can be added. Programming user codes or fingerprints is not possible until a master code is created. The factory default code should be changed immediately after installation. See the user's guide (PDF Files tab) for the full setup sequence.

Will this lock fit my door if it already has a lever set installed?

The Rosé retrofits to a standard Australian lever set preparation: 25mm latch hole, 54mm lock hole, 60mm backset, door thickness 32-50mm. Most standard Australian timber internal doors with a lever set will have this preparation. Confirm the lock hole diameter is 54mm and the backset is 60mm before ordering. Our guide to measuring your lock backset and Chapter 02 — Measuring Your Door in our buyer's guide cover the measurements to check before ordering.

What happens if someone enters the wrong code or fingerprint too many times?

After 5 consecutive incorrect attempts — codes or fingerprints — the lock enters a 5-minute lockout mode. During lockout, further attempts are not accepted. The lock will resume normal operation automatically after 5 minutes.

Additional Information

No Key Backup — Installation Planning:
Because the Rosé has no mechanical key override, the door must always have an alternative means of access in case of total power failure where no USB-C power bank is available. This makes the Rosé most appropriate for internal connecting doors rather than external entry doors, and for installations where the inside of the door is always accessible via another room or passage. Do not install on a door that would leave an occupant without any means of exit if the lock failed in the locked position.
Installation — Common Issues:
The Rosé installs using posts that thread through the deadlatch spindle slot before the levers are secured. Incorrect post alignment — posts not fully engaged through the latch — is the most common installation mistake and will cause the lever to operate independently of the latch. Test the latch operation with the door open before tightening the fixing screws, and do not overtighten (the user's guide specifically cautions against this). For a guide to the most common DIY smart lock installation mistakes, see our article on 3 common smart lock installation mistakes.
Fingerprint Registration:
Each fingerprint is registered by placing and removing the finger on the sensor six times during the enrollment sequence. The lock prompts each repetition via voice guidance. For reliable performance, enroll the same finger in a natural position — the way it would normally contact the sensor when approaching the door. If a fingerprint is not recognised reliably in use, re-enrolling that finger typically resolves the issue. For a plain-English guide to fingerprint and other access methods, see Chapter 03 — Smart Lock Access Methods in our buyer's guide.
Dual User Mode — Two-Person Authorisation:
Dual User Mode requires two distinct credentials to be presented sequentially before the door will unlock. The two credentials can be any combination of codes and fingerprints from different registered users. This is useful in shared storerooms, medicine rooms, or any application where two-person accountability for access is a requirement. Note that master codes override Dual User Mode — a master code alone will always unlock the door regardless of the mode setting.
