FORGE E15 Smart Handle Lock - Fingerprint, RFID, NFC, Tuya Bluetooth
At A Glance
(Bluetooth)
(Add Gateway)
The FORGE E15 Smart Handle Lock (FESMTLKE15BLKA) is a lever handle smart lock on a 60 mm-backset mortice, with an aluminium alloy body and a glossy tempered glass front.
It opens six ways - fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card, NFC, the Tuya app over Bluetooth and a mechanical key. For remote use, FORGE offers its Smart Gateway as an add-on - the FORGE Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth gateway. It runs on 4 x AA batteries (up to 12 months per FORGE) and suits doors 42-100 mm thick.
It is a handle lock, not a push pull lock - for TTLock in a similar format see the FORGE H6. Made in China for FORGE, an Australian brand based in Ringwood, Victoria, with FORGE's 2-year warranty.
Usually ships in 24 hours.
Owned by FORGE Electrical (Australia) · Manufactured in China. Our independent FORGE brand profile sets out how the range compares with the other brands we stock.
Access Methods
From inside, the lever opens the door. Only the administrator's credential and the key open the door while it is locked from inside (FORGE).

Tuya App - Bluetooth
The E15 connects to the free Tuya app on your phone over Bluetooth - FORGE lists the connection as Bluetooth, Tuya app compatible ![]()
. FORGE does not publish an E15 manual - the pairing steps are in the leaflet that comes in the box. Register your administrator on the keypad first, then pair the lock in the app with your phone beside the door.
Over Bluetooth the app works when your phone is near the lock - what a lock can do without Wi-Fi. FORGE's page says the remote functions - letting a friend in from elsewhere and setting up temporary passcodes for guests remotely - need a Bluetooth gateway, sold separately. The FORGE Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth gateway is the Bluetooth gateway FORGE sells for its Tuya locks; FORGE's Bluetooth pairing guide shows how a Tuya gateway is added to the app and then picks up a Bluetooth lock. What a gateway does is explained in Chapter 08. FORGE offers this gateway as the 'Smart Gateway' add-on with the E15.
Which platform suits you is set out in our TTLock vs Tuya comparison and which smart lock platform is right for you. For on-demand remote unlock and scheduling from one app, compare a TTLock model with a gateway.

Accessories and Spares
FORGE's options for the E15 are 'Smart Lock Only' or the 'Smart Gateway'. Other gateways and bridges are in our modules and Wi-Fi gateways range.
Battery and Emergency Power
The E15 runs on 4 x 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries - FORGE rates them at up to 12 months. Batteries are not included. The lock gives a voice prompt when they run low. If they go flat, power the lock from a power bank through the USB-C port and open it normally, or use the mechanical key. More on what really affects battery life and power and battery FAQs.
Weather Rating - Not Published
FORGE does not publish an IP rating for the E15. Fit it where the outside panel is sheltered from driving rain, and see IP ratings explained.

Platform and Data
Platform. The E15 uses the Tuya app over Bluetooth. Remote use goes through a Bluetooth gateway on your home Wi-Fi, sold separately. FORGE offers its Smart Gateway (the Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth gateway) as the add-on.
Where your data goes. Tuya is a Chinese company headquartered in Hangzhou with regional data centres; by Tuya's own published country table, Australian accounts are provisioned to its Central Europe data centre, and there is no Australian data centre. Day-to-day use over Bluetooth at the door does not need the cloud. For the platform-by-platform picture see where each smart lock platform hosts its data, and for how Tuya compares with TTLock data sovereignty in our TTLock vs Tuya comparison.
Installation
The E15 fits a 60 mm-backset mortice into the door edge, with the outside and inside panels bolted through the door and cabled to each other. FORGE does not publish an E15 manual - a user manual and door template come in the box.
- Use the door template in the box to mark the mortice pocket and the holes through the door.
- FORGE's page says the supplied parts can be cut shorter for doors thinner than standard - cut them to suit before fitting.
- Fit the mortice in the door edge, then bolt the two panels through the door and connect the cable between them.
- Fit 4 x AA alkaline batteries, register an administrator, then check the lever, the inside lock and the key.
- Terry's offers installation across the Gold Coast - see also the wrong-backset mistake and door handing.
Which way a door is handed is explained in how to tell which way your door or gate opens.
