HID iCLASS Contactless Smart Card - Clamshell or ISO - White
The HID iCLASS Contactless Smart Card listing gives you a choice of five white 13.56 MHz smart cards from HID: clamshell cards and thin ISO cards, in iCLASS or iCLASS SE. They are read by HID readers that take iCLASS, such as the HID iCLASS SE R15 reader and HID Signo readers - see Compatible Readers.
Each card is programmed to your site before dispatch - your card format, facility code and numbers - and programming is included in the price. We collect those details on an order form after you order, so have them ready. This is a special order item.
These cards are programmed to suit your access control system before they are sent, and programming is included in the price. After your order is placed, you will be asked to complete a separate order form with your site's details, and we cannot send your cards until we have it. To avoid delays, have the following ready:
- Card format - 26-bit (H10301) is the most common; tell us if your site uses another format
- Facility / Site Code - the facility or site code your panel is set up for
- Start Number and End Number - the number range you need, chosen so it does not clash with credentials already in use
- Offset (if any)
- ICE / Elite Key (if any) - only where your site runs its own HID Elite key
- Order quantity and a site reference (if applicable)
These cards are ordered in and programmed for you - contact us for an estimated dispatch time before you order.
Key Features
- Five cards on one listing - choose the card when you order. All are white, all are 2k bit (256 byte) cards, and all are 13.56 MHz read/write contactless smart cards.
- iCLASS Clamshell Card (2080CMSNV) - HID's value priced iCLASS card: an ABS shell with a PVC cover label, 1.8 mm thick, with a plain white matte front, an HID logo moulded into the base and a vertical slot punch.
- iCLASS Card (2000CGGNN and 2100CGGNN) - a thin ISO card, plain white gloss on both sides, that meets ISO thickness standards for direct image and thermal transfer card printers. The 2000 is PVC; the 2100 is a composite of PVC and polyester, which HID recommends for re-transfer printers and for cards with an over-laminate. Neither is slot punched - printed marks show where a vertical slot can go.
- iCLASS SE Clamshell Card (3350VMSNV) and iCLASS SE Card (3000VGGNN) - the same two card shapes carrying HID's Secure Identity Object (SIO), for sites on iCLASS SE. See iCLASS or iCLASS SE.
- Secure by design - iCLASS uses mutual authentication, encrypted data transfer and 64-bit diversified keys between the credential and the reader.
- Programmed for your site - each card is programmed with the format, facility code and number your panel expects, at no extra charge. The number is programmed in, not printed on the card. See Programming Details.
- No battery - HID's card datasheets describe a passive design good for an estimated minimum of 100,000 reads.
- Lifetime warranty from HID.
Compatible Readers
The iCLASS cards work with HID readers that read iCLASS, and the two iCLASS SE cards with readers that read iCLASS SE. From our range, both are read by the HID iCLASS SE R15 reader and by HID Signo readers ordered in Smart Profile or Standard Profile.
Read range depends on the reader as much as the credential. These are HID's typical figures, and they vary with installation conditions, including a metal mounting surface. HID gives the R15 figures for credentials that carry its Secure Identity Object (SIO). HID Signo readers read iCLASS and iCLASS SE in their Smart and Standard profiles - the Seos Profile does not. Whatever the reader, the door opens only when the credential's format, facility code and number are ones your access control panel knows. The R15 figures are on page 2 of HID's iCLASS SE readers datasheet (PDF), and the Signo figure is on page 2 of its Signo datasheet (PDF). HID quotes the R15 card figure for ISO-size cards; the Signo figure covers ISO and clamshell cards. On HID's earlier readers its datasheets give a clamshell card a shorter range than an ISO card.
What's in the Box
- 1 x HID iCLASS or iCLASS SE card - the clamshell or ISO card you choose - programmed to your site's details
Suitable Uses
- Sites running HID iCLASS, iCLASS SE or Signo readers that need more cards, or replacements for lost ones.
- Photo ID badges - choose an iCLASS ISO card (2000 or 2100), which HID makes for direct image and thermal transfer card printers.
- Cards that hang from a clip or lanyard - choose a clamshell card, which comes slot punched.
- Staff and tenant access cards for offices, apartment buildings and other commercial sites. See choosing a platform for commercial, office and retail sites.
Readers that do not read iCLASS - 125 kHz proximity readers, and HID Signo readers in Seos Profile. The HID iCLASS SE RKLB40 biometric reader - it does not read 2k bit iCLASS or iCLASS SE cards. Sites with older standard iCLASS readers that want the iCLASS SE cards - HID's ordering guide says iCLASS SE credentials are not backwards compatible with iCLASS readers, so choose the iCLASS cards or check with us first. Users who want something for a key ring or a stick-on credential - see the HID iCLASS Key II fob, the HID iCLASS SE Key II fob and the HID iCLASS adhesive tag.

Finish selection does not affect functionality, compliance, or performance. The clamshell cards have a matte white front; the ISO cards are gloss white on both sides.
HID iCLASS Credentials
We list eight HID iCLASS and iCLASS SE credentials on four listings - five cards, two key fobs and an adhesive tag.
The bold rows are this product. All eight are 13.56 MHz HID credentials with 2k bit (256 byte) memory. The iCLASS SE ones also carry HID's Secure Identity Object (SIO) - match iCLASS or iCLASS SE to what your site's readers and existing credentials use. The Compatible Readers table lists the readers.
Full Specifications
The ISO column's weight, temperature, humidity, endurance, retention and earlier-reader figures are from HID's iCLASS Card datasheet, which covers the 2000 and 2100. For the iCLASS SE 3000, HID's ordering guide gives the size and the white gloss finish - contact us if you need more.
Dimensions
HID gives the clamshell card as 2.125 x 3.375 x 0.070 inches at most and the ISO card as 2.127 x 3.375 x 0.033 inches at most; its ordering guide draws the iCLASS SE 3000 at the same size. The figures are on page 2 of the iCLASS Clamshell Card datasheet (PDF) and page 2 of the iCLASS Card datasheet (PDF).
Frequently Asked Questions
Choose a clamshell card for a value priced card that comes slot punched for a clip or lanyard. Choose an ISO card for a thin card that fits a wallet and prints in a card printer. HID's datasheets give the ISO card a longer read range on its earlier readers - 5.0 to 7.6 cm on an R10 against 3.8 to 6.3 cm for the clamshell.
Match what your site already uses. iCLASS SE cards carry HID's Secure Identity Object (SIO), which adds a layer of security on top of iCLASS, and they are made for iCLASS SE and Signo readers. HID's ordering guide says iCLASS SE credentials are designed for installations of iCLASS SE readers only and are not backwards compatible with iCLASS readers, so a site that still has older standard iCLASS readers should choose the iCLASS cards, or check with us first. Send us a photo of an existing card if you are not sure.
HID readers that read iCLASS. From our range that is the HID iCLASS SE R15 reader and HID Signo readers in Smart Profile or Standard Profile. The Compatible Readers table lists them with the read range on each.
Your card format, your facility or site code, the start and end numbers you want, any offset, your ICE or Elite key if your site has one, and how many you need. We send a separate order form for these after you order - the Programming Details note above lists them. Your installer or system administrator can usually supply them.
Yes, on the ISO cards. HID's datasheet says the 2000 and 2100 meet ISO thickness standards for direct image and thermal transfer card printers, and recommends the composite 2100 for re-transfer printers. HID draws the iCLASS SE 3000 at the same thickness. A clamshell card takes a printed overlay instead - HID makes a 1324 PVC direct print overlay and a 1321 photo pouch overlay, which we do not list, so contact us. Check with your card printer's maker before you print.
Additional Information
- Card format matters. A new card, fob or tag only works once its format, facility code and number range match what your panel expects. Have those details ready when you order credentials. HID's datasheets say any existing HID format can be programmed into an iCLASS credential.
- Choose your number range with care. HID's open 26-bit format has 255 facility codes with 65,535 card numbers in each, and HID does not track who orders which numbers, so a duplicate is possible. Start a new batch above the highest number already in use on your site.
- Elite and Corporate 1000 sites. If your site runs its own HID Elite key or is on HID's Corporate 1000 program, tell us before you order so the cards can be matched to it.
- Memory size. Every card on this listing is 2k bit (256 bytes). HID also makes 32k bit iCLASS cards, which we do not list - contact us if your system needs one.
- Allow for lead time. This is a special order item and it is programmed for your site, so contact us for an estimated dispatch time before you order.

HID Warranty
HID branded readers, credentials and accessories are covered by warranties issued by HID Global Corporation and its affiliated entities (part of ASSA ABLOY), distributed in Australia by LSC. Most HID readers and HID-branded credentials carry lifetime cover; a small number of specific models and accessories carry a fixed term instead.
The summary below sets out HID's published warranty structure. All warranty claims are handled by Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries. Full terms and exclusions are set out in the official HID Global Warranty Policy linked at the base of this page.
Warranty Summary
Understanding "Lifetime" Cover
HID's published policy uses the term "Lifetime Warranty Period" without defining it further - it is not stated as a fixed number of years, "for the life of the product", or "as long as you own it". It applies for as long as HID continues to honour that stated period under its published policy.
How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries with your proof of original purchase and a description of the fault.
- Where a claim needs to be escalated, HID requires written notice from the end customer within the applicable warranty period - we handle this notification on your behalf.
- HID's remedy, at its own option, is to repair the product, replace it, or issue a credit towards a future purchase.
- Postage, insurance and shipping costs to present hardware for warranty assessment are the end customer's responsibility under HID's policy - we'll advise what's needed before anything is sent.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover, and will be voided by, any of the following:
- Installation by anyone other than HID or an HID-authorised installer
- Use other than as authorised in HID's own documentation
- Modification, alteration or repair by a party other than HID
- Combination with hardware, operating systems or tools not provided by HID
- Accident, neglect, misuse or negligence
- Upgrades, evaluation units and demonstration units
- Consumables - batteries, paper, pads, cleaning solution, towels, cartridges and cables
Important Notes
This manufacturer warranty applies in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Where a failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced.
HID's published policy states the warranty is solely for the benefit of the original end customer. Products purchased through Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites are covered as supplied - contact us in the first instance for any claim rather than approaching HID directly.
A small number of HID accessories (such as certain Signo mounting plates and wall spacers) are not individually named in HID's published policy. Where this applies, contact us to confirm the term that applies to your specific item before relying on the Lifetime cover shown above for readers.
