The Borg BLS275000LH / BLS275000RH is the 28mm short-backset mortice latch for Borg BL5000 Series digital locks, made for aluminium shopfront doors and other narrow-stile applications. It is a latch-only replacement, supplied as two separate handed parts - a left-hand latch (BLS275000LH) and a right-hand latch (BLS275000RH). Order the hand that matches your door.
It has a 28mm backset, it runs on an 8mm square spindle, and although it is supplied handed, a locksmith or a competent handy person can change the hand on the bench.

Which 28mm Latch - 5000 Series or 2000 Series?
We stock two 28mm short-backset latches and they look almost identical in a photograph - same 28mm backset, same slim face plate, same satin chrome. The difference is the drive, and it is on the back of the latch where the spindle passes through. This one, for the 5000 Series, takes an 8mm square spindle. The 2000 and 4000 Series latch is driven by a tail piece. Work out which lock you have before you order.

This 28mm latch fits Borg BL5000 Series locks in aluminium and narrow-stile door preparations. These lock pages list it for narrow stiles - confirm the fit with us before ordering. For standard timber-door backsets, the 60mm and 70mm 5000 Series latches apply. The 2000 Series equivalents are the BLS272000LH and BLS272000RH, which run on a different drive.

Warranty
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled - doing so will invalidate the warranty. Proof of purchase required for all claims.

How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd first if you purchased through us or one of its associated trading names - we will assess the issue and manage the warranty process with LSC on your behalf. You do not need to contact LSC or Borg Locks UK directly.
- Have your proof of purchase ready (receipt or order confirmation).
- Warranty claims for Borg products in Australia are processed through LSC, the authorised Australian importer and distributor. Where an item is returned to LSC, freight charges must be prepaid and the item returned within the warranty period.
- If LSC finds the returned item to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced, and a detailed assessment report is provided to the customer after examination.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
