FORGE G3 Frameless Glass Door Smart Lock - TTLock or Forge Smart
At A Glance
(Wi-Fi Version)
The FORGE G3 Frameless Glass Door Smart Lock clamps onto a frameless glass door with no holes or cut-outs - a friction-fit main lock on the door and a matching strike unit on the fixed panel or frame. It unlocks with a fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card, the app or a mechanical key, and its motorised bolt locks the door again automatically.
It comes in two versions: FEGLFFKEYG9TA on the TTLock app over Bluetooth, with FORGE's optional G5 gateway and remote; and FEGLFFKEYG9A on FORGE's Forge Smart (Tuya) app with Wi-Fi built in. Both suit frameless glass 8-15 mm thick with a 4-15 mm gap, swing or sliding, opening any direction - and FORGE's G3 glass bracket takes it to doors up to 39 mm thick. It runs on 4 x AA batteries for up to about 12 months.
FORGE pitches the TTLock version at commercial sites - offices, shopfronts and clinics with frameless glass. Made in China for FORGE, an Australian brand based in Ringwood, Victoria, with FORGE's 2-year warranty.
Usually ships in 24 hours.
Owned by FORGE Electrical (Australia) · Manufactured in China. Our independent FORGE brand profile sets out how the range compares with the other brands we stock.
Access Methods
From the inside, the lock opens without a credential; FORGE describes adjustable normally-locked and normally-unlocked modes.

App Platform - TTLock or Forge Smart (Tuya)
The G3 is sold in two versions, and the difference is the app platform and how the lock reaches the internet. Choose the version when you order - they use different radios and apps. FORGE's G3 leaflet covers the TTLock version; the Forge Smart version is set up in FORGE's own app.
Set it up in the free TTLock app for iOS and Android
Wi-Fi is built into the FEGLFFKEYG9A, so it joins your 2.4 GHz network directly with no gateway, and it is managed in FORGE's Forge Smart app on the Tuya platform - see the Forge Smart (Tuya) platform in Chapter 15. Per FORGE's published comparison, remote unlock on Forge Smart locks is request-based: someone at the lock asks to come in and you approve it in the app - there is no unlocking on demand from off-site, no scheduled passage mode in the app, no Alexa or Google, no API. Remote passcodes, entry records and Tuya automations work from anywhere. FORGE's page for this version offers neither a gateway nor a remote.
Which suits you is set out in our TTLock vs Tuya comparison and which smart lock platform is right for you. As a rule of thumb, short-stay hosts and anyone who wants to open the door for a visitor from work choose TTLock with a gateway; a household that just wants app control and alerts without buying a gateway can choose Forge Smart.

Suitable Uses
- Frameless glass office, shopfront, clinic and boardroom doors 8-15 mm thick - swing or sliding (frameless glass door smart locks).
- Glass-to-glass and glass-to-wall layouts with a 4-15 mm gap between the door and the fixed panel or frame.
- Thicker glass or doors up to 39 mm with FORGE's G3 glass bracket.
- Commercial sites managing staff codes and records on the TTLock version with a G5 gateway (audit trails).
- Framed timber or aluminium doors, fitted through holes with a square shaft.
- Glass under 8 mm, or over 15 mm without the bracket (39 mm maximum).
- Gaps between the door and the fixed panel outside 4-15 mm.
- Doors exposed to the weather - FORGE gives no IP rating for the G3.
- Fire-rated doors - FORGE does not quote a fire rating for the G3.

Door Fit - Glass Thickness and Gap
The G3 clamps to the glass, so the fit is about thickness and gap. Per FORGE's pages, the door glass must be 8-15 mm thick and the gap between the frameless glass door and the fixed glass panel (or door frame) must be 4-15 mm. For a door 15-39 mm thick, add FORGE's G3 glass bracket - tell us your thickness when you order and we will make sure you get the right parts.
- Glass thickness - 8-15 mm as supplied; 15-39 mm needs the G3 bracket.
- Gap - 4-15 mm between the door and the fixed panel, wall or frame.
- Layout - swing or sliding, glass-to-glass or glass-to-wall; the lock can be reversed for either hand by turning its U-shaped frame through 180 degrees.
- Framed doors - on a timber or aluminium framed door the lock fits through holes, with the square shaft cut to the door thickness plus 12 mm.
- Send us a photo of the door edge, the gap and the fixed panel if you are unsure, and we will check it with you.

This product is in bold. The H1 and H2 glass handle locks are different products from the FORGE H1 gate lock and the H2 slimline aluminium lock. Glass figures are from FORGE's pages.
Accessories and Spares
Other gateways are in the modules and Wi-Fi gateways category, and more cards and fobs in the RFID credentials range.
Battery and Emergency Power
The G3 runs on 4 x 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries, rated by FORGE at up to about 12 months, and draws less than 10 microamps standing by. If the batteries go flat, power it from the emergency input with 5 V USB power and unlock normally, or use the mechanical key. More on what really affects battery life and power and battery FAQs.
Weather and Environment - Indoor Glass Doors
FORGE gives the G3 a working range of -20 to 60 degrees C but no IP rating, and pitches it at office and commercial frameless glass doors. Treat it as an indoor lock - for a door exposed to rain, look at FORGE's IP-rated outdoor locks or ask us (IP ratings explained).

Dimensions
Check the glass thickness (8-15 mm, or up to 39 mm with the bracket) and the 4-15 mm gap - see Door Fit above.

Platform and Data
Platform. The G3 is sold on two platforms: the TTLock version (FEGLFFKEYG9TA) talks Bluetooth to your phone and uses the TTLock G5 gateway for remote access; the Forge Smart version (FEGLFFKEYG9A) has Wi-Fi built in and runs on FORGE's Forge Smart app on the Tuya platform, with no gateway.
Where your data goes. TTLock is run by Sciener, a Chinese company; where its out-of-China servers are hosted, and which region Australian accounts use, is not published - in short, a Chinese company's servers, location unpublished. Tuya is a Chinese company headquartered in Hangzhou with regional data centres; by Tuya's own published country table, Australian accounts are provisioned to its Central Europe data centre, and there is no Australian data centre. The region the Forge Smart app uses for Australian accounts is being confirmed. For the platform-by-platform picture see where each smart lock platform hosts its data, and for TTLock's security record Chapter 14 - TTLock security.
Installation
The G3 needs no drilling on frameless glass: a template sets the strike unit on the fixed panel, the U-shaped clip slides onto the door glass and the main lock fixes over it. FORGE's installation pages (in the User Manual tab) show each step.
- Clean the glass, tape FORGE's template on with its centre line on the door post, and stick the template pads close to the gap with nail glue - the template positions the fixed plate.
- Push the U-shaped clip on from the side of the glass door and fix the strike unit with its four screws; twist the cover on after the two fixing screws.
- Fit the main lock, close the door naturally, extend the bolt and mark its position; the blade's triangle must point to the outside.
- To change hands, loosen the four front-panel screws, rotate the U-shaped frame through 180 degrees and check the dot points to the round hole.
- Handle the flat ribbon cable gently - flip its buckle up no more than 90 degrees, with the metal side of the cable facing down.
- On a framed door, cut the square shaft to the door thickness plus 12 mm. Terry's offers installation across the Gold Coast.
After fitting, initialise the lock and add an administrator straight away - until then any fingerprint or password unlocks it.

- Measure the glass and the gap first. 8-15 mm glass and a 4-15 mm gap as supplied; the bracket takes it to 39 mm.
- The two versions are not interchangeable. TTLock and Forge Smart use different apps and radios - choose one when you order.
- Indoors only. FORGE gives no IP rating for the G3.
- Keep the mechanical keys handy - away from the door, in case the batteries go flat (key storage ideas).

FORGE G3 Frameless Glass Door Smart Lock - FAQ, Setup and Owner's Guide
Everything below is here to help you choose, fit, set up and live with the FORGE G3. For general smart lock questions see our Smart Lock FAQ (Chapter 13), and for measuring and fitting the Buyer's Guide.
Choosing a FORGE Glass Door Lock
TTLock or Forge Smart
The app platform and the radio. FEGLFFKEYG9TA runs on TTLock over Bluetooth, with FORGE's optional G5 gateway and TTLock remote. FEGLFFKEYG9A has Wi-Fi built in and runs on FORGE's Forge Smart app on the Tuya platform, with no gateway. The hardware, glass range and access methods are the same.
Yes, over its built-in Wi-Fi. Per FORGE's published comparison, remote unlock on Forge Smart locks is request-based - someone at the lock asks to come in and you approve it in the app.
FORGE's TTLock G3 page names the FORGE TTLock remote (FEGLTTLKRMTA). FORGE's glass-door lock remote is titled for the G3 as well - ask us which version it pairs with before ordering.
Glass, Gap and Fitting
8-15 mm as supplied, or up to 39 mm with the G3 bracket.
4-15 mm between the door and the fixed glass panel or frame.
Yes - swing or sliding, glass-to-glass or glass-to-wall, and any opening direction.
Loosen the four front-panel screws, rotate the U-shaped frame through 180 degrees, check the dot mark points to the round hole and re-tighten - mind the ribbon cable connector.
Yes - on a timber or aluminium framed door it fits through holes, with the square shaft cut to the door thickness plus 12 mm, fixed with the two long screws and self-tapping screws or rivets.
Credentials and Access
FORGE quotes keyless entry for up to 200 fingerprints and passcodes. Its semiconductor reader recognises a finger in 0.3 seconds or less.
Permanent, timed, one-time, custom and recurring codes, generated in the TTLock app (leaflet page 1; Chapter 14 - passcode types). On the Forge Smart version, temporary codes are set up in the Forge Smart app.
13.56 MHz MIFARE cards. Extra FORGE MIFARE 1K cards are sold separately.
On the TTLock version, an eKey gives another TTLock account the right to unlock - time-limited, one-time, permanent or recurring (TTLock eKeys).
Remote Access and the G5 Gateway (TTLock Version)
Only on the TTLock version, and only for remote use. Fingerprint, PIN and card entry work with no phone at all. Add the FORGE TTLock G5 gateway to unlock on demand, change codes or check records from away - what a gateway actually does.
Indoors within Bluetooth range of the lock, on a 2.4 or 5 GHz network - gateway placement.
Power and Batteries
Up to about 12 months on 4 x AA alkaline cells, per FORGE.
Supply 5 V USB power to the emergency input and unlock normally, or use the mechanical key - it works without a spindle through the glass.
Setup and Troubleshooting
With the lock powered, press and hold the initialisation button inside the rear panel next to the knob until the voice confirms. Then add the administrator password and fingerprint straight away.
