Lockton Scar Plates - To Suit ELEV36 Smart Lock (377 x 70 mm, Satin Stainless Steel)
The Lockton PS-REC-36-SS is a satin stainless steel scar plate designed to cover existing lock preparation holes, paint lines, and surface damage left behind by previous hardware installations on timber doors. A precision-cut rectangular centre opening (200 x 25 mm) allows a Lockton ELEV36 hinged smart lock to mount cleanly over the plate with full functionality retained.
Made from 1.5 mm stainless steel and measuring 377 x 70 mm overall, the plate provides a professional cosmetic and structural finish for retrofit and new-installation work alike. Whether you're upgrading from an old mechanical mortice set or covering drill damage, a single plate transforms the door face without requiring panel replacement.
Supplied individually (one plate per pack). Available in Satin Stainless Steel (this product) and Matt Black Powder-Coated (PS-REC-36-BLK). For a full overview of when scar plates are needed and how to size them correctly, see our Scar Plates for Smart Locks guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
A scar plate (also called a cover plate or renovation plate) is a flat steel panel that conceals existing holes, drill damage, or paint lines left by previous lock hardware. You need one when the new ELEV36 lock body does not fully cover the old preparation on the door face. For a full explanation of the scenarios where a scar plate is necessary, see What Is a Scar Plate? in our guide.
The PS-REC-36-SS measures 377 x 70 mm overall with a 200 x 25 mm centre cut-out. As long as your existing preparation holes fall within the plate's footprint - and your door face is at least 70 mm wide at the lock area - the plate will cover them. Check that the 200 x 25 mm cut-out aligns with the ELEV36 lock body. If your preparation area is larger than the plate, the plate will not cover it fully; the Why Size and Shape Matter section of our guide explains how to assess this before ordering.
Yes, if you want both door faces covered. The PS-REC-36-SS is sold as a single plate per pack. For a double-sided installation (covering front and back of the door), order two packs. In most residential applications only the external face is visible and requires a plate, but commercial and high-end residential installs often plate both sides.
The PS-REC-36-SS is manufactured from stainless steel and is physically compatible with fire door installations in terms of material. However, the plate itself does not carry a fire rating certification under AS/NZS 1905.1. For fire-door-specific guidance on scar plates and which materials are acceptable, see Scar Plates on Fire Doors and Chapter 11 - AS1905.1 Fire Door Hardware. If in doubt, consult your fire door inspector or certifier before installation.
No. The PS-REC-36 series is designed specifically for the ELEV36 Hinged lock body. The Cadell52 lever lock uses a different cut-out and requires the PS-REC-52 series.
Additional Information
The ELEV36 Hinged Smart Lock is available in Black and Silver. Satin stainless steel (this product) coordinates with the Silver ELEV36 and with most satin chrome or brushed nickel door furniture. If your lock is Matte Black, the PS-REC-36-BLK powder-coated black variant provides a closer visual match. See our Materials and Finishes guide for coastal and exterior finish selection advice.
The scar plate installs behind the ELEV36 lock body - it must go on before the lock is fitted to the door. While it is possible to remove a fitted lock and retrofit the plate, this adds significant installation time. If you suspect you may need a plate (old mortice cutout visible, wide prep area, or previous hardware damage), order it together with your ELEV36 lock. Terry's supply-and-install service can assess your door and confirm whether a plate is required before work begins - see our site survey and installation service.
The Lockton ELEV36 Hinged Smart Lock supports fingerprint, PIN code, RFID, key override, Bluetooth (TTLock app), and WiFi via optional G2 WiFi Gateway. It is distributed by Sieper Group (sglocks.com.au) and operates on the TTLock platform. Also available: the ELEV36 Sliding Door variant and RFID key fobs.
For a full overview of scar plate types, sizing, materials, and brand-specific guidance across Lockton, Borg, McGrath, Lockwood/ADI, and ASSA ABLOY Aperio products, see our Brand-by-Brand Guide to Scar Plates. The PS-REC-52 series covers the Lockton Cadell52 fire-rated lever lock range, and the ADI Scar Plates cover the Lockwood Cortex 530.
