The Vault Lumina (Vault_Lumina) is a smart lock designed specifically for frameless glass doors. It is a compact unit with an inbuilt hook bolt that clamps directly onto the edge of the glass rather than needing a mortice cut, suiting 10mm to 12mm glass on either a single glass door or a pair of double glass doors. It suits residential and office entries where a clean glass-door look matters.
The Lumina opens by fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card or fob, Bluetooth from the Vault Smart Locks app, and a backup mechanical key, with remote access available when it is paired with the optional Vault G5 Gateway. Its slim body complements frameless glass entryways while still providing properly managed digital access.
Because it clamps onto the glass edge rather than sitting in a machined mortice, there is no traditional backset to work around and the installation is straightforward - there is no drilling into the glass at all. Frameless Glass Door Compatibility
The Lumina is designed for 10mm to 12mm frameless glass (minimum 10mm, maximum 12mm) and uses an inbuilt hook bolt rather than a standard door mortice. Installation is straightforward: the lock clips and clamps directly onto the edge of the glass, so there is no traditional backset to measure and no drilling into the glass itself.
It suits either a single glass door or a pair of double glass doors. On a double-door installation the strike mounts to the opposing glass panel; on a single door, a small strike plate is fitted to the frame and drilled so the hook bolt can engage. That is the one decision worth settling before the order goes in.
Glass door framing varies from job to job, so confirming your door configuration (single or double) and the glass thickness before ordering is the quickest way to get a clean fit and the right strike in the carton. The external (outside) module is IP55 weather rated - protected against limited dust ingress and low-pressure water jets - which supports everyday exposed use where the installation is appropriate. The internal module is for interior use only.

Four AA batteries are required and are not supplied, and the optional Vault G5 Gateway is a separate purchase. Exact carton contents may vary between production runs - confirm on delivery.
Battery, Power and Backup Access
The Lumina is powered by four AA batteries, not included. Use new alkaline cells, avoid mixing new and old, and replace them promptly when the lock signals a low battery. AA cells are the largest format in the Vault slimline family, which works in the Lumina's favour on runtime.
The Lumina includes a backup mechanical key for entry if the batteries are depleted or electronic access is unavailable. There is no USB rescue port on this model, so the key is the whole fallback. Keep a spare off-site rather than inside the door it opens - see where the keyhole is, storing the override key and what to do when the battery dies.

The Lumina needs a glass edge to clamp onto - it cannot be fitted to a framed aluminium or timber door, where the Vault Eclipse is the right answer. It is also not certified to AS 1905.1 and must not be fitted to a fire door; see Chapter 05.

Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)
The Lumina is controlled over Bluetooth from the Vault Smart Locks app, available on iOS 
and Android. Bluetooth control works when you are near the door and needs no internet connection. Vault runs its own app platform - it is not a TTLock product.
Adding the optional Vault G5 Gateway bridges the lock to your home or office Wi-Fi so you can unlock remotely, issue and revoke passcodes from anywhere, and view the unlock history. The Lumina is one of the few smart locks in any brand positioned specifically for frameless glass rather than aluminium or timber joinery, which is why its slim profile keeps a glass installation looking clean instead of bolted-on.
Because the Lumina uses an inbuilt hook bolt, it should not be treated like a standard hinged-door mortice smart lock - there is no lock body to match, no backset to measure and no mortice to machine. Unlike a mortice smart lock, the Lumina needs no lock body machined into the door. The manual's procedure is five steps: align the door seam with the stencil centre line on clean dry glass, apply the adhesive board, press out the air bubbles, clip the lock onto the board and fix it with screws. The one decision to get right beforehand is the door configuration, because that decides the strike.

Glass, Fit and Installation
From 10mm to 12mm - minimum 10mm, maximum 12mm. Measure your glass thickness before ordering. Most frameless glass doors in Australian homes and shopfronts fall in that range, but there is no packer or adjustment that takes the lock outside it.

On the Gold Coast, yes. Our measure and install service confirms glass thickness, door configuration and strike placement before anything is ordered, which on a glass door is worth more than it sounds - a mis-specified strike on a glass panel is not something you can correct with a drill.
No, and the manual does not claim it is. The board positions and bonds the lock, and screws then fix it. Clean, dry glass is what decides whether the bond holds - it is the step most worth taking slowly.
Access and Credentials

Yes. The app issues permanent, timed and one-time PIN codes, so a cleaner can hold a code that only works on their scheduled day and a one-off visitor gets a code that expires after a single use. On a retail or studio door that is usually more useful than the remote unlocking is.
Two RFID fobs are supplied. More can be enrolled through the app if you need them.
Not in the Vault range. The Vault Alpha carries 3D face recognition on a sliding door, but it is a framed-door lock and will not fit frameless glass.
Yes - the unlock record reads in the app over Bluetooth, and remotely once a G5 gateway is paired. On an office or retail glass door that record is often the main reason to fit a smart lock at all.
App and Remote Access
No. The Vault Smart Locks app controls the lock over Bluetooth when you are near the door, and fingerprints, PIN codes and RFID credentials all work at the lock itself with no internet at all.

Smart lock gateways generally rely on the 2.4GHz band, and combined 2.4 and 5GHz routers can cause pairing hiccups. The G5 is dual-band, which is why we recommend it - see our note on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and band steering before setting up.
No. Vault runs its own Vault Smart Locks app platform - it is not TTLock, does not use the TTLock app and does not carry the TTLock feature set. Our app platforms chapter compares the ecosystems.

An IP rating measures ingress, not corrosion. For a beachfront position a covered entry, a periodic fresh-water rinse of the external module and realistic expectations are the practical answer - see our notes on coastal environments.
Keep the fingerprint reader clean with a dry cloth, and check the hook bolt still engages the strike cleanly a few times a year. Glass doors move with their hardware over time, and a bolt that is starting to catch is the earliest warning that something needs adjusting.

Twelve months from purchase on the standard range, with 24 months on select Signature Range models where the listing or packaging says so. Batteries, consumables, cosmetic finishes, misuse and incorrect or unlicensed installation are excluded. Vault charges a refundable $200 metropolitan or $250 regional assessment holding fee on a warranty return, refunded when the fault is assessed as genuine. What This Warranty Does Not Cover
- Normal wear and tear.
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect performance.
- Damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, neglect, modification, or accident.
- Damage due to improper handling, or installation by an unlicensed technician.
- Products that have been disassembled, tampered with, or where the security seal or warranty label has been removed.
- Battery leakage or failure, or damage caused by incorrect battery usage.
- Environmental or weather damage caused by use outside recommended operating conditions.
- Labour, installation, or removal costs associated with replacing or reinstalling products.
- Work performed before warranty approval or assessment.
Important Notes
Where a Vault product carries an Ingress Protection (IP) rating, that rating is stated on the individual product listing, packaging or technical documentation. Unless stated otherwise in writing, the IP rating applies only to the external-facing side of the lock - not to the internal assembly, handle, battery compartment, electronics, cables or connectors. The internal side must be installed in a dry, sheltered position. An IP rating describes water resistance, not waterproofing: the lock must not be submerged, pressure washed, or exposed beyond its stated rating, and all seals, gaskets and covers must be correctly fitted and undamaged.
Vault's manufacturer policy applies a warranty assessment holding fee, which is refundable if the fault is found to be covered under warranty. If a product is assessed as outside warranty or damaged by an excluded cause, a discounted replacement may be offered. We will confirm any applicable fees and options with you before any assessment proceeds.
This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
