Yale Unity ALL-in-One Entrance Lock Kit - Matt Black - DualDoor™ Technology
The Yale Unity ALL-in-One Entrance Lock Kit is a complete smart lock system designed for Australian homes with a security screen door and a main entrance door. The kit delivers DualDoor™ Technology — a single credential action at the screen door simultaneously unlocks both the screen door and the main door behind it, removing the second unlock step entirely.
Everything needed for the system is included in the box: the Unity screen door lock, the Unity entrance lock, a Smart Keypad, and the Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge. From the moment the system is installed, full remote access and management are available through the Yale Home App without needing to purchase any additional hardware. Voice assistant integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant is also supported.
Access credentials are managed through the Yale Home App. The kit is tested to Australian Standard and is intended for residential installation. If your home has a triple-locking screen door, check compatibility before ordering — see our guide on triple lock kit compatibility — cables vs rods for background on what to look for.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays).
DualDoor™ links the screen door lock and main entrance lock so that a single PIN, card tap, or app action releases both simultaneously. One step, both doors unlocked — no second handle, no second credential. For a plain-English explanation of how it works and who it suits, see What Dual Unlock Actually Does. To compare the Yale all-in-one approach with the McGrath modular approach, see McGrath vs Yale — Which Approach Suits You?
The screen door must be able to close freely in front of the main door lock. If the gap between your screen door and main door lock is smaller than the main door lock's projection, the screen door cannot close properly. Always measure this clearance before ordering. See Check the Clearance Between Door & Security Screen.
The McGrath UltraSecua Dual Unlock offers the same single-action dual-door unlocking, letting you choose your own main door lock and gateway separately. The Yale Unity Kit is the all-in-one approach; the McGrath is the modular approach. For a side-by-side comparison, see McGrath vs Yale — Which Approach Suits You?

Suitable Uses
- Homes with a security screen door and main entrance door: The defining application. DualDoor™ eliminates the two-step unlock that most screen door homes require. For a full explanation, see our guide on how Dual Unlock works.
- Buyers who want a complete, ready-to-install system: With both locks, the Smart Keypad, and the Wi-Fi Bridge all in one box, no additional components need to be selected or purchased. Remote access is available from day one.
- Households with multiple regular users: Programmable access rights allow individual users to be assigned specific access schedules, with a full audit trail visible in the Yale Home App.
- Smart home environments: Alexa and Google Assistant integration allows voice-controlled locking and unlocking as part of a broader smart home setup.
- Properties where remote access is required from day one: The Wi-Fi Bridge is included, so remote lock management is available immediately after installation. See Chapter 08 - Smart Lock Gateway Comparison for how this compares to gateway-based approaches.
- Single-point hinged screen door installations: The Unity screen door lock is designed for hinged security screen doors. For screen doors with triple-locking kits, check cable vs rod compatibility before ordering — see our triple lock compatibility guide for what to look for.
Installation & Compatibility
- Designed for hinged security screen doors. Not suitable for sliding screen doors.
- Reversible handing — suits both left-hand and right-hand opening doors without ordering a separate handed version.
- Wi-Fi connectivity requires a 2.4 GHz network (802.11b/g/n). 5 GHz networks are not supported.
- Voice assistant integration (Alexa, Google Assistant) requires the relevant voice assistant device and the Yale Home App to be set up and linked.
- Always check the clearance between your security screen and main door before ordering. The main door lock projects from the door face, and the screen door must pass in front of it freely. See Check the Clearance Between Door & Security Screen for the measurement process. See also Chapter 02 - Measuring Your Door.
- For door type compatibility guidance, see Chapter 04 - Smart Lock Door Types.
Specifications
Battery & Power

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the kit include everything I need for remote access, or do I need to buy a gateway separately?
Everything is included. The Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge — which provides remote access and management via the Yale Home App — is included in the kit. No additional gateway or bridge purchase is needed. This is the primary advantage of the Yale all-in-one approach over modular alternatives.
What is DualDoor™ Technology and how is it different from having two separate smart locks?
DualDoor™ links the screen door lock and the main entrance lock so that a single action — one PIN, one card tap, or one app command — releases both locks simultaneously. With two separate smart locks, each would need to be operated independently. DualDoor™ removes the second step entirely. For a detailed explanation, see our guide on What Dual Unlock Actually Does.
Will this work with my triple-locking security screen door?
Potentially, but triple-locking screen installations require additional checks before ordering. The key factor is whether your existing triple lock kit uses rigid rods or flexible cables to link the centre lock to the top and bottom locking points — cable-based kits are generally not compatible with screen door smart locks. See our guide on cables vs rods — the key rule before ordering, and contact Terry's if you are unsure.
Can I add fingerprint access to this system?
Fingerprint access is not included in this kit. It is available as an upgrade via the optional Yale Smart Keypad 2, which adds fingerprint recognition to the system and is sold separately.
Does the system work if the Wi-Fi drops out?
Yes. Bluetooth access via the Yale Home App continues to work locally without internet. PIN code entry via the Smart Keypad and RFID card access also operate without any network connection. Remote features — remote unlock, remote credential management — require an active internet connection. For more on connectivity behaviour, see why smart locks sometimes drop off Wi-Fi.
Additional Information
All-in-one vs modular: The Yale Unity kit is designed for buyers who want a complete, matched system with no component selection required. The alternative approach — buying a screen door smart lock separately and adding a main door lock and gateway — offers more flexibility in product choice but requires more decisions at purchase. The most direct modular alternative offering the same dual-door unlocking feature is the McGrath UltraSecua Dual Unlock, paired with a compatible McGrath main door lock. For a side-by-side comparison of the two approaches, see McGrath vs Yale — Which Approach Suits You?
Screen door clearance — the most important pre-purchase check: When the screen door closes, it passes in front of the main entrance door and the lock on it. If the main door lock projects further from the door face than the gap between the two doors, the screen door cannot close. This is the most commonly missed pre-purchase check for any dual-door smart lock setup. See Check the Clearance Between Door & Security Screen for the measurement process.
Wi-Fi network requirement: The Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge connects to 2.4 GHz networks only (802.11b/g/n). If your router broadcasts only at 5 GHz, a separate 2.4 GHz network or dual-band router configuration will be required. Most modern Australian routers support both bands — check your router settings if unsure. For more on smart lock Wi-Fi behaviour, see why smart locks sometimes drop off Wi-Fi.
Brand context: Yale is one of the world's longest-established lock brands, with a significant presence in the Australian residential smart lock market. For an overview of Yale's product range and how it sits relative to other brands in our range, see Chapter 10 - Smart Lock Brand Profiles.
Yale Unity products carry a 10-year mechanical warranty and a 3-year electrical and electronic warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from date of purchase. Warranty excludes batteries, normal wear and tear, misuse, and damage from unauthorised modification.
