Austyle 49425 Sliding Door Entrance Lock - 28mm Backset - Satin Stainless Steel
The Austyle 49425 is a 304 stainless steel sliding door entrance mortice lock body designed for use with the Austyle 59407 Digital Lever Entrance Lock Set. It provides the mechanical locking function for aluminium sliding doors and aluminium hinged doors with a shallow backset where the 59407 digital lever is the access control unit. The 49425 features dual locking bolts, a 28mm backset, 85mm centre-to-centre spindle spacing, and a 270 x 22mm faceplate in a satin stainless steel finish.
This mortice is sold separately and is one of three locking options available for the 59407 digital lever. The correct mortice depends on the door type and required backset - refer to the Mortice Selection section below before ordering. The 49425 is not compatible with the 59405 or 59406 lever sets; those levers use the 49429 entrance mortice (60mm backset).

Frequently Asked Questions
The 49425 is a sliding door mortice with dual locking bolts, a 28mm backset, and a 270 x 22mm faceplate - designed for sliding glass doors and aluminium hinged doors with a shallow backset. The 49429 is a standard entrance mortice with a 60mm backset and a 240 x 22mm faceplate, suitable for standard hinged timber or aluminium doors. If your door has a 60mm backset, the 49429 is the correct choice. See our guide to measuring your lock backset if you are unsure.
The 49425 is confirmed by Austyle for use with the 59407 digital lever only. It is not listed as compatible with the 59405 or 59406 lever sets, which use the 49429 entrance mortice. Do not assume interchangeability - confirm the correct mortice for your specific lever set before ordering.
No. This product is the mortice lock body only. The 59407 digital lever set is sold separately and includes the electronic lever assembly, keypad, and fixings. The 59407 product page lists the 49425 as an optional add-on mortice.
Sliding doors move laterally rather than swinging on a hinge, so they require a mortice with locking bolts that engage into the door frame at multiple points to resist lateral force and lifting. The dual bolt configuration of the 49425 is suited to this application. A standard single-bolt entrance mortice like the 49429 is designed for hinged door installations where the bolt engages into a strike plate on the door frame edge.
Additional Information
Measure from the edge of the door to the centre of the existing bolt or cylinder hole. If the measurement is approximately 28mm, the 49425 is the correct choice for sliding doors. If the measurement is 30mm, you likely need the 49421 (for aluminium hinged doors, supplied with the 59407). If the measurement is 60mm, you need the 49429. See our guide to measuring your lock backset and our guide to smart lock door type compatibility before ordering.
When the 49425 mortice is installed with the 59407 lever, the spindle hub arrow must point toward the handle. This is the same rule as for the 49421 and 49429 when fitted to the 59407. Confirm arrow direction before final installation. See our guide to the spindle position installation mistake.
304SS provides good corrosion resistance for standard residential exterior installations. For coastal or marine environments, confirm suitability with Terry's before purchasing. 304SS is not the same as 316 marine-grade stainless steel.
