Austyle 49429 Entrance Mortice Lock - 60mm Backset - Satin Stainless Steel
The Austyle 49429 is a 304 stainless steel entrance mortice lock body designed for use with the Austyle 59405 Lever Latch Set and the Austyle 59407 Lever Entrance Lock Set. It provides the mechanical locking function for standard hinged timber and aluminium doors where one of those digital levers is the access control unit. The 49429 features a 60mm backset, 85mm centre-to-centre spindle spacing, and a 240x22mm faceplate in a satin stainless steel finish.
This mortice is sold separately. The 59406 Lever Entrance Set includes the 49429 in the box — purchase the 49429 separately only if you are ordering the 59405 lever set (mortice not included) or replacing a worn or damaged mortice in an existing installation. Refer to the Mortice Selection section below if you are unsure which mortice your door requires.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to buy this separately if I'm ordering the 59406?
No. The 59406 Lever Entrance Set already includes the 49429 mortice in the box. Purchase the 49429 separately only when ordering the 59405 lever latch set (which does not include a mortice), or as a replacement for an existing installation.
What is the difference between the 49429 and the 49425?
The 49429 is a standard entrance mortice with a 60mm backset and 240x22mm faceplate, designed for standard hinged timber and aluminium doors. The 49425 is a sliding door mortice with a 28mm backset and 270x22mm faceplate, featuring dual locking bolts for sliding door and shallow-backset aluminium door applications. If your door has a 60mm backset, the 49429 is the correct choice. See our guide to measuring your lock backset if you are unsure.
Is the 49429 compatible with any levers other than the 59405 and 59407?
Austyle confirms compatibility with the 59405 and 59407 digital lever sets only. It is not listed as compatible with other Austyle lever models. Do not assume interchangeability with other products outside this confirmed pairing.
What door thickness does this mortice suit?
The mortice body depth is 73mm. Door thickness compatibility is determined by the lever set rather than the mortice itself — refer to the specifications of the 59405 or 59407 for confirmed door thickness range.
Does this mortice include a cylinder or strike plate?
No. This product is the mortice lock body only. Cylinder, strike plate, and all fixing hardware are supplied with the digital lever set (59405 or 59407).
Additional Information
The 59406 is the complete entrance set — it includes both the digital lever and the 49429 mortice. The 59405 is the lever set only, with the mortice excluded from the box. If you are purchasing the 59405, you will need to add the 49429 to your order. If you are purchasing the 59406, do not add this product — it is already included.
The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the spindle hole. 60mm is standard for most timber entrance doors in Australia. Aluminium-framed doors often have a shallower backset — measure before ordering to confirm the 60mm suits your door. See our guide to measuring your lock backset for step-by-step instructions.
The Austyle catalogue lists mortice code 49421 (304SS, 30mm backset) as a standard hinged door option for the 59407 lever. If you require the 49421, contact us directly as it may not be available as a standalone listing on the store.
1-year mechanical and 1-year electronic warranty on residential installations, provided by Austyle Architectural Hardware. Proof of purchase required for all claims. Batteries, water ingress from inside the door, and damage caused by incorrect installation or use outside stated specifications are not covered. Returns & Warranty
