This is the compact BL2000 series equivalent of the BTB knob/knob format - lighter in duty and smaller in profile than the Borg BL5101, and suited to internal and sheltered external doors where space or budget is a consideration. Finished in satin chrome, it carries over 8,000 combinations with the traditional tumbler code system - the lock is removed from the door to change the code. It is fully mechanical, with no batteries anywhere in the mechanism, and suits doors from 35mm to 54mm thick.
A patented coding-chamber load-plate design resists code cracking, and the lock is a direct footprint retrofit for the older Unican 7014 mechanical pushbutton lock, so an installer replacing one does not need to re-cut or re-prep the door. The BL2020SC has a knob keypad on both sides. Both knobs are clutched - free-turning only after the correct PIN is entered. There is no free inside egress: a code must be entered from whichever side you are on. The same code operates both sides. Tumbler-based code system. To change the PIN, the lock must be removed from the door. Remove the 4 red screws, carefully lift the cover plate (springs attached), hold the C tumbler depressed, then use the supplied tweezers to reposition the red (coded) and blue (uncoded) tumblers. Over 8,000 combinations; code length adjustable 3 to 7 digits. Fitting this lock to a narrow aluminium gate frame?
The BL2020SC ships as standard with a 60mm backset tubular latch, which will not fit a narrow 50mm x 50mm aluminium gate or door frame. You can still fit this lock to a narrow-stile frame - simply order the matching 28mm backset latch below and use it in place of the standard 60mm latch that comes in the box.
To get this lock working properly on narrow frames, you'll need the shorter latch - the standard 60mm latch supplied in the box is discarded, not modified.

Both are knob/knob back-to-back satin chrome locks requiring code from both sides. The Borg BL5101 uses the BL5000 series body - heavier duty, larger profile, cycle tested to a higher rating, and it has independent coding chambers so each side can carry its own code. The BL2020SC uses the smaller, lighter-duty BL2000 series body with one shared code. Choose BL2020SC for lighter-duty applications where the compact BL2000 profile suits the installation; choose BL5101 where a more robust body or independent per-side codes are required.
The lock must be removed from the door. Remove the 4 red screws, carefully lift the cover plate (springs are attached), hold the C tumbler depressed at all times, then use the supplied tweezers to reposition the red (coded) and blue (uncoded) tumblers. All square cut-outs must face outward; coloured marks must face upward. Test before reinstalling. Codes are non-sequential - buttons can be pressed in any order. If fire door compliance is a requirement, confirm with Borg Locks Australia or your fire door certifier before specifying. Yes. The BL2000 series shares the same door footprint as the older Unican 7014 mechanical pushbutton lock, so it is a direct retrofit without re-cutting or re-prepping the door in most cases. Confirm your existing cutout against the dimensions above before ordering.

The tumbler code can be set on the bench before installation. Set and verify the code before mounting both sides. This avoids removing a fitted keypad for the first code change and confirms the lock operates correctly before installation.
Both sides require code entry. Confirm this complies with emergency egress requirements for your specific application. In escape routes or rooms where free exit is legally required, a BTB lock requiring code entry from inside may not be compliant. Confirm with your building certifier or fire safety consultant.
This lock is a direct footprint retrofit for the older Unican 7014 mechanical pushbutton lock. If you only need a spare latch rather than a complete lockset, the matching Borg BLS216 60mm latch and the BL2000 Series Complete Accessories Packet both suit this platform. The BL2020SC is built for internal and sheltered external doors, not for weather-exposed metal gates - this is about duty rating and weather exposure, not frame width. A narrow aluminium stile on a sheltered door or gate can still be accommodated by swapping in the 28mm latch (see the Narrow Aluminium Gate Frame callout above). Warranty
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled - doing so will invalidate the warranty.

Borg products sold in Australia are covered against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. Warranty claims are handled by Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries.

How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd first if you purchased through us or one of its associated trading names - we will assess the issue and manage the warranty process with LSC on your behalf. You do not need to contact LSC or Borg Locks UK directly.
- Have your proof of purchase ready (receipt or order confirmation).
- Warranty claims for Borg products in Australia are processed through LSC, the authorised Australian importer and distributor. Where an item is returned to LSC, freight charges must be prepaid and the item returned within the warranty period.
- If LSC finds the returned item to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced, and a detailed assessment report is provided to the customer after examination.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
