Borg BL3175 Mechanical Digital Gate Lock – Back-to-Back Keypads – Key Override – Marine Grade – Black
The Borg BL3175GATEK is a fully mechanical marine grade digital gate lock with back-to-back keypads and a key override function. Both sides of the gate have a full keypad; code required to enter and exit. A separately sourced euro cylinder can be fitted to provide key access independent of the code and to deadlock the gate when required.
The lock uses a forend fixing system, clamping onto the gate post with telescopic screws – no mortice cutting required. It suits gate profiles from 30mm to 60mm square on standard fixings. The anti-climb lockcase prevents unauthorised climbing. The euro cylinder is not supplied and must be ordered separately. Code change uses the traditional Borg tumbler system (lock removal required).
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
These locks use a forend fixing system that clamps directly onto the gate post — no mortice cutting or door-edge drilling required. Designed for square aluminium or steel gate posts from 30–60mm. For profiles wider than 60mm, an optional XL latchbolt extension is available separately.
Marine grade quality keypads tested to 1,000 hours of salt spray exposure. Suitable for coastal, beachside, and outdoor gate installations.
This model uses a tumbler-based code system. To change the PIN, the lock must be removed from the gate. The keypad cover plate is removed and red coded / blue uncoded tumblers are rearranged using the supplied tweezers. For on-gate code change, see the BL3400MGPROECP (single-sided) or BL3430MGPROECP (back-to-back).
Both sides of the gate have a full keypad. The same PIN code operates both keypads. Entering the code is required to enter and exit — there is no free egress from inside.
This model includes a euro cylinder key override (cylinder not supplied). Using the key: (1) provides emergency key access, and (2) activates a code lockout — the key deadlocks the latch bolt, preventing gate operation by keypad code until the key releases it.
The inside keypad requires the correct PIN before the lever operates. Confirm this suits your application and complies with any applicable fire egress or building regulations before purchasing.
Entirely mechanical. No power source, no wiring, and no battery maintenance at any point.
Accepts one active PIN code at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the forend fixing system work?
The lock body sits on the face of the gate frame and clamps onto the gate post using telescopic fixing screws supplied. No drilling through the gate edge or mortice pocket is required. The latchbolt projects from the lock body and engages a strike on the gate post or adjacent frame. The latch projection is adjustable from 65mm to 80mm to suit different gate frame widths. For gate posts wider than 60mm, an optional XL latchbolt extension is available separately.
How does the DKO key override and code lockout work?
DKO stands for "Double Key Override." The euro cylinder (not supplied) fits into the lock body. Turning the key in one direction unlocks the gate by key without entering the code. Turning it further activates the code lockout / deadbolt: the latchbolt is deadlocked and the keypad is disabled — code entry will not open the gate until the key is turned to release the deadlock. This allows an authorised keyholder to fully lock down gate access. Source a standard euro profile cylinder from your locksmith, confirming the correct length for your gate post.
How do I change the PIN code?
The lock must be removed from the gate. Remove the 4 red screws, carefully lift the cover plate (springs attached), hold the C tumbler depressed, then use the supplied tweezers to reposition the red (coded) and blue (uncoded) tumblers. All square cut-outs must face outward. Test the new code before reinstalling. Codes are non-sequential — buttons can be pressed in any order. Spare tumblers allow code length to be adjusted from 3 to 7 digits.
My gate post is wider than 60mm — what do I do?
An optional XL latchbolt extension is available separately, extending the maximum gate post width to 120mm. Contact us or search "Borg XL latchbolt" to find the correct accessory for your gate profile. Always confirm the correct gate post width before ordering.
Is this lock suitable for a pool gate?
The lock's spring-loaded latch is self-latching on gate close, which aligns with pool safety self-latching requirements. However, confirm all pool gate safety compliance requirements with a licensed pool safety inspector before installation, as compliance encompasses more than just the lock (gate height, clearances, overall system). For the Queensland Pool Safety Standard specifically, confirm with your local inspector.
What is the difference between BL3175GATEK and BL3430DKOGATE?
Both are BTB gate locks with key override and tumbler code change. The BL3430DKOGATE uses the larger BL3430 forend lockcase with a heavier anti-climb housing, suited to heavier-duty applications. The BL3175GATEK features an anti-ligature lockcase design and is more compact, suited to lighter applications or where anti-ligature features are required. For on-gate ECP code change with BTB key override, see the BL3430DKOMGPROECP.
Additional Information
The euro cylinder must be sourced separately. Contact a locksmith to supply and fit a standard euro profile cylinder in the correct length for your gate post. Ask for the cylinder to be keyed to your existing master key system if required.
Both sides require code entry. Confirm this complies with emergency egress requirements for your application before specifying.
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled.
