Installing on a narrow aluminium gate frame?
The BL4401MGPRO ships as standard with a 60mm backset tubular latch, which will not fit a narrow 50mm x 50mm aluminium gate frame. You can still fit this lock to a narrow-stile frame - order the matching 28mm backset latch below and use it in place of the standard 60mm latch that comes in the box.

What gate thickness does it suit, and what fixings are supplied?
35mm to 80mm - the supplied fixing screws and the 8mm flat bladed sprung spindle cover that range. If your gate falls outside it, talk to us before ordering rather than improvising fixings. The self-latching action relies on a square-hung gate, so fix any hinge sag before install day.

Does handing matter, and can I reverse it later?
The lock itself is reversible on site for left or right hand swing, so a re-hung gate is not a problem. My installer knows the Borg BL2600 series - is this the same prep?
Close to it. The BL4400 series shares the BL2600 footprint and uses the free-turning lever keypad of the BL3400 gate series, so an installer familiar with either platform will recognise the drilling pattern and fitting sequence. The tubular latch bores like any 60mm backset latch.

Usually not. Magnetic gate latches paired with mechanical keypads have a high callback rate - misalignment and gate sag cause the magnet to grab before the keypad releases.
