Installing on a narrow aluminium gate frame?
The BL4441MGPROECP ships as standard with a 60mm backset tubular latch, which will not fit a narrow 50mm x 50mm aluminium gate frame. You can still fit this lock to a narrow-stile frame - order the matching 28mm backset latch below and use it in place of the standard 60mm latch that comes in the box.

All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. Once your code is set, the included plug can be fitted to block the change-key hole, so a person who briefly learns the code cannot also change it and lock you out. It is optional - leave it off if you change codes often, fit it for rental or shared-access gates.

What gate thickness does it suit, and what fixings are supplied?
35mm to 80mm - the supplied M4 stainless steel fixing screws and the 8mm flat bladed sprung spindle cover that range. Both keypad units mount through the gate on the same fixings. If your gate falls outside the range, talk to us before ordering rather than improvising fixings.

Does handing matter, and can I reverse it later?
The lock itself is reversible on site for left or right hand swing, so a re-hung gate is not a problem. The exception is the 28mm narrow-stile latch for aluminium frames, which is handed and not field-reversible - pick left or right hand to suit at order time. Unsure which is which? My installer knows the Borg BL2600 series - is this the same prep?
Close to it. The BL4400 series shares the BL2600 footprint and uses the free-turning lever keypad of the BL3400 gate series, so an installer familiar with either platform will recognise the drilling pattern and fitting sequence. The back-to-back format simply mounts a second keypad unit on the inside face using the through-gate fixings.

- Warranty claims for Borg products in Australia are processed through LSC, the authorised Australian importer and distributor. Where an item is returned to LSC, freight charges must be prepaid and the item returned within the warranty period.
