Carbine CEL2-3IN1 Fire Rated Leverset with RFID and Key Override – Matte Black
The Carbine CEL2-3IN1-SL8MB-FRKIT is the dedicated fire door installation kit for the CEL2-3IN1 leverset, providing three access methods: touchscreen PIN code, RFID/NFC credential, and mechanical key override. It stores up to 100 combined user codes and RFID credentials in a shared pool, and is specifically packaged for certified installation on fire-rated door assemblies. No app, Bluetooth, gateway, or internet connection is required.
The leverset is designed to IP54 standards and is NCC compliant. It is certified for use on Firecore, E-Core, and Pyropanel fire-rated door systems. Access Methods
Works on 13.56MHz Mifare NFC (ISO14443 Type A) — RFID cards, FOBs, wristbands, stickers, and most NFC-enabled Android phones. Australian Mifare transit cards (Go card, Opal, Myki, SmartRider, MyWay, metroCard) are compatible. Visa PayWave and Mastercard PayPass are NOT compatible (ISO14443 Type B). If your phone’s NFC chip is incompatible, a Mifare RFID sticker on the back of the phone is the recommended workaround. - Battery life approx. 5,000 openings. Low battery warning via LED and audible tone before depletion.

What is the difference between this and the standard CEL2-3IN1-SL8SNKIT?
Both models carry fire rating certifications, but this kit (the FRKIT) is specifically packaged for fire door installation. If you are installing on a certified fire-rated door assembly, specify this kit. For non-fire door applications, the standard CEL2-3IN1-SL8SNKIT is appropriate. Does this lock support Bluetooth or app access?

Will my NFC phone work as an RFID credential?

My door is not within 35–51mm thick or 60–70mm backset — will this fit?

The lock certification covers the lockset only. All other hardware in the fire door assembly must also be rated and compatible — hinges, door closer, intumescent seals, and strike. Fire doors in older Gold Coast apartment buildings (pre-1990) may contain asbestos in the core or surrounding frame. Do not drill or cut without confirming the door material first. See: Asbestos in Gold Coast apartment fire doors
The connecting cable between the exterior and interior modules must be correctly seated in the mounting plate channel. Incorrect routing is the most common installation failure — it causes an unresponsive keypad or a battery cover that won’t seat correctly. The factory default programming code is 12345678. Change it to a private code immediately after installation. Issue separate user codes or RFID cards for day-to-day access; never share the programming code with tenants or users. See: The realities of electronic door locks
