FORGE H2 Slimline Aluminium Frame Smart Lock - Forge Smart Wi-Fi
At A Glance
(Wi-Fi)
(On Request)
The FORGE H2 Slimline Aluminium Frame Smart Lock (FEUTSLMH2A) puts a fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card and app lock on a 30 mm-wide panel for narrow aluminium-frame doors - and its 30 mm low-profile inside handle keeps clear of a screen or security door close behind. A mechanical key is the backup.
Wi-Fi is built in: it joins your 2.4 GHz network directly and runs on FORGE's Forge Smart app on the Tuya platform, with no gateway. Remote unlock is request-based - a visitor presses the doorbell key and you approve it in the app. Choose your mortice backset at checkout from FORGE's sliding-door (20-35 mm) and swing-door (25-60 mm) options. It suits doors 40-100 mm thick, runs on 4 x AAA batteries and has an IP65 outside panel.
FORGE pitches the H2 at homes, apartments and private family access; for TTLock with a gateway, see the FORGE HL3. This H2 is not FORGE's H2 frameless glass handle lock. Made in China for FORGE, an Australian brand based in Ringwood, Victoria, with FORGE's 2-year warranty.
Usually ships in 24 hours.
Owned by FORGE Electrical (Australia) · Manufactured in China. Our independent FORGE brand profile sets out how the range compares with the other brands we stock.
Access Methods
From the inside, press the lever down to open; lift the handles to throw the deadbolt. Dual verification (two credentials to open) can be switched on in the keypad's function menu.

Forge Smart (Tuya) App
Set the H2 up in FORGE's Forge Smart app, built on the Tuya platform, for iOS and Android ![]()
. Register at least one administrator on the keypad first, then choose Australia and sign up with your email, give the app full permissions and turn Bluetooth on. The lock needs a 2.4 GHz network - 5 GHz is not supported. Add the module on the lock, choose Lock (Wi-Fi) and EZ Mode in the app (manual page 14). A generic Tuya pairing sheet shows the same steps in the Tuya Smart app.
Until an administrator is registered, the lock is in its initial state - the default code 123456 works and it opens to any fingerprint or code - so register yourself as soon as it is fitted (manual page 13).
Wi-Fi is built into the H2, so there is no gateway to buy. Remote unlock works on request: someone at the door presses the # doorbell key and you approve it in the app within 2 minutes (manual page 17). Per FORGE's published comparison, Forge Smart locks do not unlock on demand from off-site, have no scheduled passage mode in the app and no Alexa or Google, and FORGE offers no gateway or remote add-on for the H2. Online passwords (with day-of-week limits) and offline passwords (system-generated, first used within 24 hours), entry records, doorbell and low-battery notifications and Tuya automations all work from the app - see the Forge Smart (Tuya) platform in Chapter 15.
Which platform suits you is set out in our TTLock vs Tuya comparison and which smart lock platform is right for you. For a rental or office that needs on-demand remote unlock and scheduling, look at a TTLock model such as the HL3.

Suitable Uses
- Narrow aluminium-frame doors where a standard smart lock is too wide (slimline smart locks).
- Entry doors with a security or screen door close behind - the 30 mm inside handle keeps the gap clear.
- Homes, apartments and private family access, per FORGE - app control and alerts over Wi-Fi without a gateway.
- Swing and sliding aluminium doors 40-100 mm thick with the matching mortice.
- Rentals, offices and sites that need on-demand remote unlock, scheduling or a hand-held remote - choose a TTLock model.
- Doors thinner than 40 mm or thicker than 100 mm (FORGE's page).
- 5 GHz-only Wi-Fi - the H2 needs a 2.4 GHz network.
- Fully exposed doors - the outside panel is IP65.
- Frames too shallow for the mortice - check the frame depth against the case depth for your backset below.

Door Fit, Mortice and Backset
Choose your mortice backset at checkout. FORGE sells the H2 with a choice of mortice - swing-door backsets of 25, 28, 30, 35, 40, 45 or 60 mm or sliding-door (hook) backsets of 20, 28 or 35 mm - measured from the edge of the door (or the faceplate) to the centre of the lock. Choose sliding for a sliding door and swing for a hinged door. How to measure backset.
Case depths are from FORGE's swing-door (240 x 22 mm faceplate) and sliding-door (270 x 22 mm faceplate) mortice size guides below.
- Door stop or jamb overlap - how far the door stop or jamb overlaps the door edge. The handle base must clear it, so the backset has to leave room beside the lock.
- Frame depth - the depth of the door's frame section from its edge to the glass pocket. The mortice case has to fit inside it.
- Flush or surface-mounted faceplate - FORGE's calculator allows for either. A surface-mounted faceplate sits on the door edge instead of being recessed, which saves 2 mm of frame depth.
- Door thickness - 40-100 mm, per FORGE's page.
- Screen-door gap - the inside handle is 30 mm high and stands 30 mm proud; the outside lever stands 54 mm proud at the cylinder.
- Tight fits - where the numbers only just work, FORGE advises getting advice before you buy. Send us your measurements or a photo of the door edge and frame and we will check the backset with you.
FORGE links two cut-out templates from its H2 page: the 2585 swing mortise template (25 mm backset, 18 x 190 mm pocket) and the 2085 double-hook sliding mortise template (20 mm backset, 18 x 224 mm pocket). Adjust the pocket to the backset you order.

FORGE Slimline Aluminium Frame Smart Locks
This product is in bold. All four take a mortice chosen at checkout from FORGE's backset options - check the frame depth and jamb overlap first. Door thickness and backsets are from FORGE's pages; panel widths from FORGE's drawings. The H2 slimline is a different product from FORGE's H2 frameless glass handle lock.
Accessories and Spares
FORGE offers no gateway or remote add-on for the H2 - Wi-Fi is built in. More cards and fobs are in the RFID credentials range.
Battery and Emergency Power
The H2 runs on 4 x AAA alkaline batteries in the inside panel - FORGE's page rates them at up to about 12 months or around 5,000 unlocks. Do not fit NiMH or lithium-ion rechargeables (manual page 10). The low-battery warning starts below 4.8 V with about 200 unlocks left, and the app sends a notification. If the batteries go flat, connect a power bank to the USB-C port with a USB-A to USB-C cable and unlock normally (manual page 18), or use the mechanical key. More on what really affects battery life and power and battery FAQs.

Weather Rating - IP65 Outside Panel
FORGE rates the outside lock panel IP65 against rain and dust when correctly installed, with silicone-sealed protection on the inside - fit the silicone pad flush to the door (manual page 8). It is not designed for driving rain, salt spray or immersion; where the door takes the weather, a porch or awning helps. On the coast, read coastal environments and IP ratings explained.

Dimensions
Check the door thickness (40-100 mm), the frame depth and the screen-door gap - see Door Fit above, and screen clearance in Chapter 02.
Platform and Data
Platform. The H2 runs on FORGE's Forge Smart app on the Tuya platform, with Wi-Fi built in - it joins your 2.4 GHz network directly, with no gateway. Remote unlock is request-based, per the manual and FORGE's published comparison.
Where your data goes. Tuya is a Chinese company headquartered in Hangzhou with regional data centres; by Tuya's own published country table, Australian accounts are provisioned to its Central Europe data centre, and there is no Australian data centre. The region the Forge Smart app uses for Australian accounts is being confirmed. For the platform-by-platform picture see where each smart lock platform hosts its data, and for how Tuya compares with TTLock data sovereignty in our TTLock vs Tuya comparison.
Installation
The H2 fits the mortice you choose into the door edge and clamps the two panels together through the door, with a data cable between them. The installation section of the manual runs through each step with drawings.
- Cut the door profile to the template for your backset, and fit the mortice with the latch facing the closing direction - latch above, deadbolt below; the latch reverses by lifting the flap, pushing it in and turning it 180 degrees (manual page 6).
- Point both handles towards the hinge, with the spindle-hub orientation mark on the outside handle pointing the same way - if they disagree, the lock will not lock (manual page 7).
- Fit the outside handle with its silicone pad flush to the door for weather sealing, and feed the data cable through (manual page 8).
- Cut the spindle to stand 5 mm proud of the inside door face - too long and the lock will not lock (manual page 9; the spindle mistake in Chapter 12).
- Fit the inside panel and 4 x AAA alkaline batteries (manual page 10), then check: handles pressed down stay locked, lifting throws the deadbolt, 123456# then the handle opens, and the key works after a quarter turn (manual page 11).
- Terry's offers installation across the Gold Coast.
Which way a door is handed is explained in how to tell which way your door or gate opens.
Frequently Asked Questions
No - Wi-Fi is built in, and FORGE offers no gateway for the H2. It needs a 2.4 GHz network.
On request: a visitor presses the # doorbell key and you approve it in the app within 2 minutes. It does not unlock on demand without someone at the door.
The inside handle is a 30 mm low-profile design for tight gaps between an entry door and a screen or security door - measure the gap where the handle sits.
Sliding doors: 20, 28 or 35 mm. Swing doors: 25, 28, 30, 35, 40, 45 or 60 mm. Choose at checkout.
No - this is FORGE's ultra-slim aluminium-frame H2. FORGE's H2 frameless glass handle lock is a different product.
Additional Information
- Register an administrator straight away. Until then the H2 is in its initial state and opens to any fingerprint or code.
- Use a 2.4 GHz network. 5 GHz is not supported - if your router combines bands, pair on the 2.4 GHz band.
- Remote unlock is a request, not a button. Someone has to press the doorbell key at the lock for you to approve.
- Check the frame before choosing a backset. The jamb overlap and frame depth decide which mortice fits.
- Alkaline AAA only, and keep the mechanical keys away from the door (key storage ideas).
Warranty
2-year FORGE warranty from the date of delivery - covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Excludes improper installation or maintenance, misuse, accident, normal wear and tear (including fading or dulling of finishes) and water damage beyond the product's rated IP protection. FORGE H2 Slimline Aluminium Frame Smart Lock - FAQ, Setup and Owner's Guide
Everything below is here to help you choose, fit, set up and live with the FORGE H2. For general smart lock questions see our Smart Lock FAQ (Chapter 13), and for measuring and fitting the Buyer's Guide.
Choosing a FORGE Slimline Lock
Forge Smart App and Wi-Fi
FORGE's Forge Smart app, built on the Tuya platform - the manual says the Tuya app works too (manual page 14).
It needs a 2.4 GHz network - 5 GHz is not supported. If your router merges its bands, see band steering and pair on 2.4 GHz.
The visitor presses the # doorbell key; you get a request in the app and approve it within 2 minutes (manual page 17).
Online passwords can carry day-of-week limits and sync to the lock once it is on Wi-Fi. Offline passwords are generated by the system and must be used for the first time within 24 hours.
Yes - the app keeps access records and sends doorbell and low-battery notifications.
Door Fit and Mortice
Sliding doors: 20, 28 or 35 mm. Swing doors: 25, 28, 30, 35, 40, 45 or 60 mm. Choose at checkout.
40-100 mm, per FORGE's page.
The frame depth to the glass pocket, how far the door stop or jamb overlaps the door, and the gap to any screen door behind it.
Credentials and Settings
Press *# with the default code and register an administrator on the keypad - administrator codes are 6-12 digits (manual page 13). The default code is deleted once an administrator exists.
Yes - in the keypad's function menu, along with dual verification, the anti-pry alarm, mute and volume (manual page 16).
You can type random digits before or after your real code so anyone watching cannot read it - the lock still recognises the code.
After five wrong attempts in a row the keypad locks for 90 seconds. It goes back to sleep after 12 seconds without use.
Power and Batteries
Up to about 12 months or 5,000 unlocks on 4 x AAA alkaline cells, per FORGE. The warning starts below 4.8 V with about 200 unlocks left.
Connect a power bank to the USB-C port with a USB-A to USB-C cable and unlock normally (manual page 18), or use the mechanical key.
Installation and Troubleshooting
Check the handles and the spindle-hub mark all point towards the hinge, and that the spindle stands only 5 mm proud (manual page 7).
Hold the reset key under the battery cover for 5 seconds (manual page 18). It returns to the default code 123456 and the open initial state.
Enter 6215# on the keypad in the initial state to re-activate the wireless module, then pair again (manual page 12).
