KAS RFID FOB - Mifare S50 1k, 13.56 MHz, Grey, with UID
The KAS Mifare S50 RFID FOB (MCM035) is a blank, grey 13.56 MHz high-frequency key fob credential supplied with a printed UID (Unique Identifier) number. It is designed for use with KAS access control systems including KASAccess, KAS Cloud Console, Lock-S Software, and LMS.
The fob operates on the ISO 14443A standard and uses Mifare 1k S50 technology, which provides higher data protection than magnetic stripe credentials and transfers data contactlessly, eliminating physical wear on the credential. The UID printed on the fob allows straightforward enrolment into the KAS system without the need for a card reader to retrieve the credential number.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does "blank with UID" mean?
The fob arrives unprogrammed - it has no access rights loaded onto it. The UID (Unique Identifier) is a fixed number printed on the fob body. This number is used to enrol the fob into the KAS system, assigning it to a user and granting access to the relevant doors. No card reader is required to retrieve the UID as it is printed directly on the fob. - How do I add this fob to my KAS system?
Fobs are enrolled through the KASAccess web console, KAS Cloud Console, Lock-S Software, or LMS depending on which platform your site uses. The UID printed on the fob is entered or scanned during enrolment. Refer to your KAS system documentation or contact your KAS installer for site-specific enrolment steps. - Is this fob compatible with non-KAS systems?
The fob operates on the 13.56 MHz ISO 14443A standard and uses Mifare S50 1k technology. It is broadly compatible with any access control hardware that reads this frequency and standard. Compatibility with specific third-party systems should be confirmed before purchase. - Is this the same as the KAS Mifare S50 card?
Both products use the same Mifare S50 1k chip and frequency. The difference is form factor only - this product is a key fob designed for keyring carry, while the card (MCM250) is credit-card sized for wallet carry. Both are blank credentials supplied with a printed UID. - Are quantity discounts available?
Yes. Contact us directly for pricing on larger quantities.
Additional Information
- Mifare S50 vs Magnetic Stripe:
Mifare S50 credentials offer significantly higher data protection than magnetic stripe cards. Contactless operation means no physical read head contact occurs during use, eliminating the primary wear mechanism of magnetic stripe credentials. The chip is also resistant to data loss from proximity to other emitting devices. - UID and System Enrolment:
The UID printed on this fob is a fixed, factory-assigned identifier and cannot be changed. When enrolling the fob, use the printed UID exactly as shown. Keep a record of which UID is assigned to which user for efficient credential management, particularly on larger sites. - Credential Management:
On KAS NEO and ACR systems, each RFID credential is assigned a user ID within the lock (ID range 00-99 for locally managed locks). Swiping the fob over the lock face will unlock the door with a single long beep on success, or two short beeps on failure. Credentials can be deleted individually by user ID, or all credentials can be cleared in a single operation via the KAS management interface.
