The Salto Contactless Smart Silicone Bracelet MIFARE 1K (WBM01K series) is a box of five waterproof silicone wristbands, each with a 13.56 MHz MIFARE 1K chip sealed inside, for sites that run SALTO electronic access control. It is the wearable key in SALTO's credential range - the same key as a SALTO card or fob, in a band that stays on the wrist through the pool, the gym floor and the surf club showers.
The bracelets are SALTO Virtual Network (SVN) compatible, so each one carries its user's access rights on the chip and picks up updates at the site's SVN points like any other SALTO key, and they are encoded on your SALTO system in the usual way. They come in five colours and three sizes - small for children, medium and large for adults - with one colour and one size per box. They are read by the SALTO XS4 escutcheons and Neo cylinders we stock (see Works With) and by other SALTO readers whose credential list includes MIFARE Classic.

The bracelet is a MIFARE Classic 1K key, so it works with the SALTO locks and readers whose credential list includes MIFARE Classic. Every SALTO escutcheon with a reader and every Neo cylinder we stock does - each one's own page lists MIFARE DESFire, Plus, Ultralight C and Classic under Access and Credentials:
Other SALTO wall readers, padlocks and escutcheons read the bracelet where MIFARE Classic is in their credential list and the site's SALTO software is set up to issue MIFARE Classic keys - check the reader's listing or your SALTO installer. The bracelet is made for SALTO systems; a non-SALTO MIFARE reader can only read its serial number and will not see the SALTO data on it. Sites that are not on SALTO - the bracelet carries SALTO data, so another brand's reader sees only its serial number. The PIN-only SALTO Z lever keypad escutcheon, which has no reader. Fifteen item codes sit on this listing. The code reads WBM01K, then the colour letter (B blue, G green, R red, W white, Y yellow), then the size letter (S, M or L), then 5 for the box quantity. SALTO sizes the band by wearer, not in millimetres: small suits children, medium and large suit adults.

The bracelet is one of several SALTO key formats we stock. All are issued from the same SALTO software, so a site can hand out bracelets at the pool and fobs or cards at the office.

Any SALTO lock or reader whose credential list includes MIFARE Classic. Every SALTO escutcheon with a reader and every Neo cylinder we stock does - the Works With table links each one to its own Access and Credentials section. The one exception on this site is the PIN-only Z lever keypad escutcheon, which has no reader. For SALTO wall readers and padlocks not listed here, check the reader's page or ask your SALTO installer.
SALTO Virtual Network stores each user's access plan on the credential itself, and the credential picks up changes - new doors, expiry dates, cancellations - each time it is presented to an online SVN point such as a wall reader at the entrance. The bracelet takes part in this exactly as a SALTO card does, so the battery-powered escutcheons on internal doors stay up to date without any wiring. The same way as a SALTO card or fob: whoever administers your SALTO system issues each bracelet to a user from the SALTO software, with the site's encoder - such as the SALTO Ncoder - and from then on the bracelet keeps itself current at the SVN points. Small is sized for children, medium and large for adults - SALTO sizes the band by wearer rather than in millimetres. Each box holds five of one colour in one size, so a swim school might order small in one colour for students and large in another for instructors; the item code table gives every combination. If a size proves wrong for a wearer, the other sizes carry the same key - only the band differs.
Yes. The chip is sealed in a solid silicone band, and LSC lists the bracelet for gyms, swimming pools and surf clubs - anywhere water and moisture would be a problem for a card or a fob. SALTO does not quote an IP figure for this bracelet, so we do not either.
Additional Information
- One chip, several jobs. A MIFARE Classic 1K chip has sixteen sectors, and SALTO uses only some of them. Lockers, cashless vending, time and attendance or membership systems that read the same chip can be given their own sectors, so one bracelet does the lot - this is the multi-application use LSC lists for it.
- Colour by group, size by wearer. Because each box is one colour and one size, a site can order small in one colour for children, medium in another for adult members and large in a third for staff - and a pool attendant can tell at a glance who belongs in the lanes and who belongs behind the desk.
- Check the key technology your site issues. A SALTO system can run on MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Plus or DESFire keys, and a site commissioned on DESFire-only keys will not accept a MIFARE 1K bracelet - a quick question to your installer before you order.
- Lost a bracelet? Cancel it in the software. Cancelling a SALTO key blacklists it, and the blacklist travels to the offline doors through the SVN points and the other users' keys, so a lost bracelet is locked out of the whole site without visiting every door.
