Schlage door hardware is covered by the Allegion residential warranty against defects in material and workmanship for the periods shown below, running from the date of purchase. Cover varies by product range and by component (mechanical, finish and electronics), so please check the row that matches your product.

Warranty Summary

* On selected electronic locks, Schlage extends a Limited Lifetime mechanical and finish warranty and a 3-year Limited electronics warranty to the original consumer user, for as long as that user occupies the residential premises where the product was originally installed. How to Make a Claim

1. Keep your proof of purchase (order confirmation or tax invoice) from Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries.
2. Contact us first through the Returns & Warranty page to lodge your claim and receive return instructions.
3. Provide a description of the fault. Allegion may inspect the installation before removal and may require the product to be returned for inspection, freight prepaid, as set out in the manufacturer's terms.
4. Once assessed, the defective product will be repaired or replaced, or the purchase price refunded, at the warranty provider's option.

What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

• Deterioration of decorative finishes, unless that finish is specifically listed in the product warranty above.
• Defects or damage caused, wholly or partly, by failure to properly install or maintain the goods, or failure to follow Schlage's instructions or guidelines.
• Use of the goods for any application other than the one specified on the accepted quote or order form.
• Continued use of the goods after a defect has become apparent, or would have become apparent to a reasonably prudent user.
• Fair wear and tear, or any accident or act of God.
• Any goods that have been repaired, altered or overhauled without Allegion's consent - the warranty ceases in that case.

Allegion is not liable for any delay in replacing, repairing or assessing a claim, and is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from a breach of warranty. For goods not manufactured by Allegion, the warranty is the manufacturer's current warranty, to the extent it can be transferred to the buyer.

Good to know
Warranty periods run from the date of purchase. Allegion will, at its option, repair or replace product it finds to be defective, provided the product is returned as directed. The Limited Lifetime cover on selected electronic locks (Encode™ and Sense™) applies to the original consumer user while they occupy the residential premises where the product was originally installed. This warranty covers residential applications.

Australian Consumer Law
This warranty is in addition to, and does not exclude, restrict or modify, the guarantees and rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
