Vault Rebate Kit for Tubular Latch Locks - Double Door Conversion Kit

The Vault Rebate Kit for Tubular Latch Locks (Vault_Tub_Latch_Rebate_Kit) is a stainless steel conversion kit that lets a Vault smart lock fitted with a tubular latch or deadbolt close and lock correctly on rebated double doors - door pairs where one leaf overlaps the other at the meeting stiles. It adapts the latch or bolt face plate and the strike to the stepped profile of a rebated stile, so the bolt reaches a properly seated strike instead of the overlap of the other leaf.

It suits the Vault locks that take a tubular latch at checkout - the Vault Alpha, Vault Zenith, Vault Eclipse, Vault Guardian and Vault Guardian Vision, and the Vault Prime, Vault Neo and Vault Triton on their tubular latch - and the deadbolt-format Vault Nexus and Vault Nexus Vision. A Vault lock fitted with a mortice lock body, or a Vault mortice bought on its own, takes the Vault Rebate Kit for Mortice Locks instead. It is not needed on flush double doors or single doors.

Which rebate kit
Two Vault rebate kits - this one is for tubular latch and deadbolt installations
This kit suits a Vault lock on a tubular latch or deadbolt. If your Vault lock is fitted with a mortice lock body - the Hinged/Swinging Euro, Sliding Hook, 6068 or Innovative Mortice, or the Neo and Triton 5050 mortice - you need the Vault Rebate Kit for Mortice Locks instead. Not sure which body you have? See Which Vault Rebate Kit Do I Need? below.

Key Features

  • Converts a Vault tubular latch or deadbolt installation for rebated (overlapping) double doors
  • Stainless steel rebate plate, strike box and strike plate, supplied with countersunk fixing screws
  • Suits every Vault smart lock with a tubular latch option, and the Nexus and Nexus Vision deadbolts
  • Keeps the latch or bolt face and the strike correctly aligned across the step of the rebate
  • Suitable for residential and commercial door pairs, timber or metal
  • Not required on flush double doors or single doors, and not for mortice lock bodies - those take the mortice rebate kit

What's Included

  • Rebate plate for the latch or bolt face, with a round bolt aperture
  • Rebate strike box - a folded stainless steel channel with two fixing flanges
  • Strike plate with radiused corners and a bolt aperture
  • 4 x countersunk fixing screws

Contents as pictured.

Suitable Uses

Only for rebated doors: a rebate kit is only needed where one door leaf overlaps the other. Flush (non-overlapping) double doors and standard single doors do not need it.
Not for mortice lock bodies: a Vault lock fitted with the Hinged/Swinging Euro mortice, Sliding Hook mortice, 6068 mortice or Innovative Mortice, or a Neo or Triton on their 5050 mortice, takes the Vault Rebate Kit for Mortice Locks. This kit's round bolt aperture and strike suit a tubular latch or deadbolt only.

Which Vault Rebate Kit Do I Need?

Vault makes two rebate kits, and the right one depends on the lock body on your door - not on the smart lock model. Look at the door edge: a long rectangular face plate carrying a latch and a bolt (or a hook) is a mortice; a single round spring bolt through a small face plate is a tubular latch; a single square bolt through a round bored hole is a deadbolt. Many Vault locks can be ordered either way, so check which body you chose at checkout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need this kit for my double doors?
Only if the doors are rebated - one leaf overlaps the other where they meet - and the Vault lock on them uses a tubular latch or deadbolt. Flush double doors and single doors do not need a rebate kit at all.
Which Vault locks does it suit?
Every Vault lock that can be ordered with the 60mm tubular latch - the Alpha, Zenith, Eclipse, Guardian and Guardian Vision - plus the Prime, Neo and Triton when fitted with their tubular latch, and the Nexus and Nexus Vision deadbolts. The full list is under Compatible Vault Locks. A lock on a Vault mortice body takes the mortice rebate kit.
How do I tell a tubular latch from a mortice?
Look at the edge of the door. A tubular latch is a single round spring bolt through a small face plate; a tubular deadbolt is a single square bolt through a round bored hole; a mortice is a long rectangular face plate with a latch and a bolt (or a hook) behind it. The comparison table above matches each body to its kit.
Does it suit the Nexus deadbolt as well as tubular latches?
Yes. The Vault Nexus and Nexus Vision use a deadbolt in a bored door preparation rather than a mortice, and this is the kit that converts that preparation for a rebated pair. Confirm the bolt position and strike alignment on your doors before ordering.
Is it hard to fit?
The plates pack the latch or bolt face and the strike out to the step of the rebate, so accurate positioning is what matters - a strike that is a few millimetres out is the usual reason a lock on a rebated pair will not latch. See our notes on choosing the wrong hardware and poor door preparation, or ask about professional fitting through our Advice and Installation service.

Additional Information

Correct Application: Only required where one door leaf overlaps the other (rebated doors). It is not required for standard single doors or flush double doors.
Two Kits, One Choice: The kit follows the lock body, not the lock model. A Vault Neo on its tubular latch takes this kit; the same Neo on its 5050 mortice takes the Vault Rebate Kit for Mortice Locks. If you ordered the lock from us and are not sure which body is in the box, contact us with your order number.
Installation: Accurate positioning is critical for correct latch or bolt engagement. See our guide to common installation and alignment mistakes, or ask about professional fitting via our Advice and Installation service.
Common Mistake: Ordering a rebate kit without confirming the door is actually rebated, or ordering the mortice kit for a tubular latch (and vice versa). Check your door type first, then the lock body you chose at checkout.
Warranty Claims: Vault warranty assessments carry a refundable holding fee - $200 metro / $250 elsewhere. Contact us first and we will help you through the claim process.

Important Notes

IP ratings and weather resistance
Where a Vault product carries an Ingress Protection (IP) rating, that rating is stated on the individual product listing, packaging or technical documentation. Unless stated otherwise in writing, the IP rating applies only to the external-facing side of the lock - not to the internal assembly, handle, battery compartment, electronics, cables or connectors. The internal side must be installed in a dry, sheltered position. An IP rating describes water resistance, not waterproofing: the lock must not be submerged, pressure washed, or exposed beyond its stated rating, and all seals, gaskets and covers must be correctly fitted and undamaged.
Warranty assessment fee
Vault's manufacturer policy applies a warranty assessment holding fee, which is refundable if the fault is found to be covered under warranty. If a product is assessed as outside warranty or damaged by an excluded cause, a discounted replacement may be offered. We will confirm any applicable fees and options with you before any assessment proceeds.
Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
