The Yale Luna Pro+ (YLN/60/HK/NG) in Nova Graphite is a push/pull smart mortice lock built around Yale FaceScan 3D face recognition - just look, and the door releases in under 1.2 seconds, hands-free. It is the smart lock for a busy household that wants security and convenience at the front door.
Unlock your way: face recognition (up to 100 faces), fingerprint (up to 50), a personalised PIN with Fake PIN masking, an RFID card or key tag, the Yale Home App over Bluetooth ![]()
, or the mechanical key override. The YDM Home Module is included, so Bluetooth control and Apple HomeKit work straight out of the box.
Designed for everyday safety, the off-centred handle reduces the risk of finger pinching and the fully automatic lockcase locks and unlocks smoothly and quietly. It fits timber doors 35mm to 100mm thick on a 60mm backset, runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with USB Type-C emergency power, and carries a genuine break-in / tamper alarm. Add the optional Yale Connect Plus Hub 2 for remote access and Amazon Alexa, Google and Siri voice control. Prefer the same lock without face recognition? See the Yale Kyra Pro.
Usually ships same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excludes weekends and Queensland public holidays).
Facial Recognition Access
Yale FaceScan reads the three-dimensional shape of your face with 3D structured light - not a flat photo - and opens the door touch-free in under 1.2 seconds, with a false-acceptance rate below 0.001%. The Luna Pro+ stores up to 100 faces, so the whole household can walk up and walk in.
How 3D face recognition compares with 2D cameras is explained in Chapter 06 - Facial Recognition, and the Luna Pro+ itself is covered in the Yale Luna Pro+ section. Browse more face and palm recognition smart locks.
Fingerprint, PIN, RFID card or key tag, the Yale Home App and the mechanical key all remain available alongside face recognition.
Save on Door Hardware
The Yale Luna Pro+ integrates the smart lock and a full-height entrance pull handle into a single unit - an ideal solution for a fresh fit on a new door.
Traditional smart lock installs often need a separate architectural pull handle or push/pull furniture, which can add several hundred dollars to the door hardware cost.
By combining the lock and pull handle, the Luna can reduce hardware costs and simplify installation. Pairing it with a roller bolt or roller catch keeps the door closed when unlocked while the electronic deadbolt handles security.

Battery, Power & Emergency Access
The Luna Pro+ runs on a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasting roughly 9 to 12 months between charges, depending on how often the door is used. A low-battery warning appears from about 20%, so there is plenty of time to recharge.
If the battery is ever fully depleted, a USB Type-C emergency terminal lets you hold a power bank to the lock and unlock it, and a mechanical key override is included as a final backup - you are never locked out by a flat battery.

Remote Access & Smart Home
The included YDM Home Module connects the lock to the Yale Home App over Bluetooth for guest sharing, activity history and Apple HomeKit - available on iOS and Android ![]()
. For control from anywhere and voice assistants, add the optional Yale Connect Plus Hub 2: it brings remote lock/unlock plus
Amazon Alexa,
Google and Siri. Compare Yale against other ecosystems in Chapter 15 - App Platforms and the Which app platform is right for you guide; gateways are compared in Chapter 08.
The Yale Luna Pro+ in Nova Graphite (YLN/60/HK/NG) has been assessed and declared compliant with the Australian Cyber Security Act (IoT consumer products). Declaration No. Cyber-AU-00012, confirmed 3 February 2026, hardware Rev 1, firmware V2.0.13. Software support is provided for a minimum of 3 years from the declaration date. Yale applies industry-standard protection to the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data its smart locks handle, backed by independent third-party security testing.
The external (outside) module is rated IP52: it resists limited dust and vertically dripping water tilted up to 15 degrees. It is not for direct heavy rain, water jets or a fully exposed outdoor gate, and the internal module is for interior use only. Fit it to an entry door under cover, and avoid positions in strong, all-year direct sun. See IP ratings explained (Chapter 11).
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Yale FaceScan uses 3D structured light (not a flat photo) to read your face and open the door touch-free in under 1.2 seconds, with a false-acceptance rate below 0.001%. It stores up to 100 faces. More in Chapter 06 - Facial Recognition.
Only for remote access and voice control. Face, fingerprint, PIN, card, mechanical key and the Yale Home App over Bluetooth all work at the door without it. Add the Connect Plus Hub 2 for control from anywhere plus Alexa, Google and Siri.
Timber doors 35mm to 100mm thick on a 60mm backset mortice. The Yale Luna / Kyra install template (in the PDF Files tab) shows the door preparation, but it is drawn for a 70mm backset - have your installer confirm the 60mm setting-out before drilling.
You get a low-battery warning from about 20%. If it does go flat, a USB Type-C terminal lets you unlock with a power bank, and a mechanical key override is included as a final backup.
It is IP52 on the external module only - suited to a sheltered entry door, not a fully exposed outdoor gate or direct rain. The internal module is interior-use only.
Additional Information
The off-centred handle is a deliberate safety design - it reduces the risk of pinched fingers, which matters in homes with children.
For reliable face unlocking, enrol faces in even light at roughly 40cm to 100cm from the lock; re-enrol growing children periodically.
Avoid mounting where the door gets strong, direct sun all year, especially in high-UV areas - heat and UV can shorten lifespan and affect the finish.
Because the lock integrates a full-height pull handle, you can often skip separate architectural door hardware; pair it with a roller bolt or catch so the door stays closed when unlocked.
For rentals and short-stays, issue Temporary or Recurring PINs and virtual keys from the Yale Home App. The break-in / tamper alarm here is genuine Yale hardware (not a TTLock phantom alert). See the honest Yale guide and Airbnb chapter.

Access and Credentials
Yale FaceScan uses 3D structured light rather than a flat photo, so it reads the shape of your face for touch-free entry in under 1.2 seconds, with a false-acceptance rate below 0.001%. You just look and step inside. It stores up to 100 face profiles. Compare it with the other credentials in Chapter 03 - Access Methods.
Up to 100 faces, up to 50 fingerprints, up to 100 PIN codes and up to 100 RFID key tags (two Contactless Key Tags are supplied). That is plenty for a household, extended family or a small share house.
You can pad your real code with extra random digits at the start or end and the lock still opens, so anyone watching over your shoulder cannot read your true PIN. It is a simple, effective anti-peep measure for busy entrances.
Yes. A mechanical key override is included so you can always get in if the battery is ever fully flat and no USB power bank is on hand.
No. It works with Apple HomeKit (and Siri) through the included module, but tap-to-unlock Apple Home Key with Apple Wallet is not supported on this model. If Apple Home Key matters to you, look at the Yale ByYou Pro.
No - the Luna Pro+ uses face, fingerprint, PIN, card, app and key. Palm and face locks are compared in Chapter 06 - Facial Recognition.
App, Remote Access and Voice
The Yale Home App - available free on the Apple App Store
Not for everyday use - face, fingerprint, PIN, card, mechanical key and the Yale Home App over Bluetooth all work without it. You need the optional Yale Connect Plus Hub 2 only for remote access from anywhere and voice control with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Siri.
It bridges your lock to the internet so you can lock, unlock, check status and manage access remotely, and it enables the smart-home integrations. It supports up to 16 Bluetooth and 30 Zigbee Yale devices and connects to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (not 5 GHz). It has no battery backup, so during a power or internet outage you keep Bluetooth control at the door but lose remote access until service returns.
Yes. From the Yale Home App you can send a virtual key or set a PIN with Always, Recurring or Temporary access, and revoke it at any time. This suits family, cleaners, dog walkers and short-stay guests. See Airbnb & Short-Stay (Chapter 07).
Yale has been in security since the 1860s and applies industry-standard protection to the confidentiality and integrity of lock data, with independent third-party security review. As a matter of policy Yale does not publicly detail the specific methods used, to avoid assisting would-be attackers. Each Luna Pro+ finish also ships with a Cyber Security Certificate (linked in the PDF Files tab) - this Nova Graphite model is Declaration Cyber-AU-00012.
A 2.4 GHz network (802.11 b/g/n). Put your phone on the 2.4 GHz band during setup - it will not connect while the phone sits on 5 GHz - then move the phone back afterwards if you wish. If your router hides both bands behind one name, see why smart locks drop off Wi-Fi (band steering).
Within about 9 metres of the lock, and ideally within 4.5 metres for the most reliable performance. Steel frames and brick, stone or concrete walls between the hub and lock all reduce range, so choose a power point on the same side of the house as the door.
No. Unlocking by voice requires a spoken security code that you set when you link the accounts, and you can update that code from the assistant's app at any time. Locking generally does not require the code.
Owners can lock and unlock, invite or remove other users, change every lock setting, and view the activity feed and guest list. Guests can lock and unlock (by app or their own PIN) but cannot manage users, change settings or view the activity history. You can promote a guest to owner at any time.
Your face, fingerprint, PIN, card and mechanical key all still work, so you are never locked out. Sign in to your Yale Home account on the replacement phone and your devices reappear - there is no need to set the lock up again. If a phone is lost or stolen, sign in from another device and use the lost-phone option to log that handset out of your account.
No. The Yale Zigbee Network Module and the plug-in Yale Home Module are Assure-series parts, and the external Yale Smart Keypad 2 is a Unity Entrance and Screen Door accessory. The Luna Pro+ already has its own keypad and the YDM Home Module included. Module differences are explained in Yale network modules explained.
Power and Batteries
A built-in lithium-ion battery, which lasts roughly 9 to 12 months depending on how often the door is used. You get a low-battery warning from about 20% so there is time to recharge or top up.
Two safeguards: a USB Type-C emergency power terminal lets you hold a power bank to the lock to unlock it, and there is a mechanical key override as a final backup. You are never locked out by a flat battery.
Installation and Setup
Timber doors from 35mm to 100mm thick on a 60mm backset mortice. The fully automatic lockcase and off-centred handle suit most residential entrances. Bring the install template to your installer to confirm the door prep - note it is drawn for a 70mm backset, so the 60mm setting-out needs confirming before drilling.
Stand square to the lock at a comfortable distance - roughly 40cm to 100cm away - with the camera at a height that suits the household (the system reads faces effectively from about 120cm to 190cm). Enrol in even lighting and, for growing children, re-enrol occasionally as their face changes.
Avoid mounting where the door catches strong, direct sun all year round, especially in high-UV areas, as prolonged heat and UV can shorten the lifespan and affect the finish over time. A sheltered, shaded entrance is ideal.
The YDM Home Module is included. After fitting, enter the master PIN on the keypad then the gear key, press 7 then the gear key to register the module, then add the lock in the Yale Home App. Full steps are in the app and the user guide.
We recommend a professional locksmith or a confident, advanced DIYer - it is a mortice lock and needs accurate door preparation. Terry's can supply and install: site survey and installation services, or see advice and installation. Common fitting mistakes are covered in 3 common DIY installation mistakes.
Troubleshooting
Push the battery cover up to remove it and take out the lithium battery. Press and hold the RST button, reinstall the battery while still holding, and release RST when the lock announces "Completed" (about three seconds after power returns). The lock is then reset to factory settings - all users and codes are erased.
This is usually a misaligned door or strike rather than a fault - if the deadbolt has to force past the strike, the motor works harder. Check the door closes freely and the bolt lines up with the strike; adjusting the strike often fixes it. See Chapter 12 - Installation and Troubleshooting and the Yale honest guide.
Check the mobile number is correct and saved in full international format (with country code). Delete and resend the invite from the Yale Home App if needed, and make sure the number you invite matches the number the guest uses to create their Yale Home account.
Suitability and Weather
No. The Luna Pro+ is rated IP52 on the external module only - it resists limited dust and vertically dripping water tilted up to 15 degrees, but it is not for direct rain, water jets or a fully exposed outdoor gate. Fit it to an entry door under cover; the internal escutcheon must not be exposed to the weather.
Salt air is the main enemy of any exterior hardware. Rinse and wipe the external face periodically, and note that coastal and salt-air corrosion is excluded from the Yale warranty. See how long digital locks last (coastal) and the realities of electronic locks.
No on both counts. The Luna Pro+ carries no fire rating and is not certified to AS1428.1 for accessibility. For a fire-rated Yale entry lock see the Unity Entrance Fire Rated, or with a DDA lever the Fire Rated with DDA Lever version. Background in Chapter 05 - Fire Door Smart Locks and Chapter 09 - DDA, NDIS and Accessibility.
They share the push-pull mortice format and the 60mm backset. The Luna Pro+ adds 3D facial recognition, stores up to 50 fingerprints and runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, in Nova Graphite or Champagne Gold. The Kyra Pro drops face recognition, stores up to 100 fingerprints, uses six AA alkaline batteries and comes in Matt Black.
