Austyle 59405 Lever Latch Set - Matt Black (Mortice Not Included)
The Austyle 59405 is a smart digital lever latch set for residential timber and aluminium doors. It provides five onboard access methods — fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card, Bluetooth app, and mechanical key — managed through the TTLock app (iOS and Android). The 59405 is designed to retrofit onto existing doors and includes a tubular adjustable latch (60-70mm). Remote WiFi access is available when paired with the Austyle 59419 WiFi Gateway Hub (sold separately).
The 59405 is the lever set only — the Austyle 49429 entrance mortice is not included and is sold separately. When installed with the 49429, the lever gains deadbolt function: lifting the handle engages the mortice deadbolt, and pulling down releases both the deadbolt and latch. The lever handing and latch handing are both reversible, making the 59405 suitable for left-hand and right-hand door configurations. The lock is rated IP55 for weather resistance, tested to 250,000 operating cycles, and 200 hours of salt-spray durability. It is rated for residential use only.

Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 4 x AA alkaline batteries (6V total) — not included. Use high-quality alkaline batteries only. Lithium and rechargeable batteries cannot be used with this lock.
- Low battery alarm activates below 4.8V via app notification and onboard indicator. Replace all four batteries at the same time.
- Micro USB emergency power port located beside the key barrel under the exterior panel. Connect a power bank to power the lock when batteries are fully depleted — then use PIN, RFID card, or the app to unlock.
- Mechanical key override provides physical backup entry at all times. Keep at least one key stored in a safe location outside the door.
Remote App Access (Optional - WiFi Gateway Required)
The 59405 does not have built-in WiFi. Remote access features — including remote unlock from anywhere, timed PIN codes, access history, and voice control via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa — require pairing the lock with the Austyle 59419 WiFi Gateway Hub (sold separately, $170). The hub connects to your 2.4GHz home WiFi and bridges the lock to the TTLock cloud.
Without a gateway, the lock operates fully as a standalone unit on its onboard access methods — fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card, Bluetooth app (within 5m), and mechanical key. All user management is done via the TTLock app over Bluetooth in close proximity.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the 59405 and 59406?
The 59405 and 59406 are the same electronic lever set. The 59405 is the lever only — the 49429 entrance mortice is sold separately. The 59406 is the complete kit — same lever with the 49429 mortice included in the box. If you need the mortice, purchasing the 59406 is more cost-effective than buying the 59405 and 49429 separately.
Do I need the 49429 mortice to use this lock?
Not necessarily. The 59405 includes a tubular adjustable latch and can operate as a latch-only lever on residential entry doors. Adding the 49429 entrance mortice gives the lock deadbolt function — lifting the handle then engages the deadbolt, providing a higher level of security. What is anti-peeping passcode entry?
The 59405 supports virtual passcode entry to prevent observers from identifying your actual PIN from key wear or shoulder surfing. Enter any random digits before or after your real PIN, then press # — the lock ignores the extra digits and only recognises the correct sequence within the string. For example, if your PIN is 1234, entering 987612345678# will still unlock the door. This is enabled by default and requires no configuration.
How do I change the door handing?
Both the lever and the latch are reversible. To change lever handing: remove the handing screw from the back panel, rotate the handle upward to the left or right depending on the door direction, and reinsert the screw. The latch handing is changed by depressing the latch mechanism into the body, rotating it, and releasing. How do I reset the lock to factory settings?
Remove the battery cover on the interior panel. Long-press the reset button beneath the battery cover for 5 seconds until you hear "Please Input Initialisation Passcode." Enter 000# on the keypad. The reset is complete — all previously stored users, codes, and credentials are cleared from the lock's memory. Additional Information
The arrow stamped on the rear of the backplate spindle hub must face the correct direction or the lock will not function. When using the lock with the tubular latch only, the arrow must point toward the handle. When using the lock with the 49429 entrance mortice, the arrow must point downward. IP55 confirms the exterior panel is tested for resistance to water spray from any direction and protection against dust ingress. The lock must never be installed in a position of prolonged direct exposure to rain or sunlight. Position the lock under an eave or in a sheltered area. No warranty is provided for damage caused by water entering from the inside of the door. This lock is not suitable for installation on tongue-and-groove doors, where water can penetrate through the groove.
Only high-quality alkaline AA batteries (4 x AA, 6V total) are supported. Lithium and rechargeable batteries cannot be used with this lock and their use may void the warranty. If fingerprint reader accuracy decreases, replace the batteries — low voltage commonly causes biometric performance issues before the low battery alarm triggers.
When the 59405 is installed with the 49429 entrance mortice, the handle has two functions: lift up to engage the mortice deadbolt (locking the door from inside), and pull down to release both the deadbolt and latch (unlocking). When the lock auto-locks electronically, the handle disengages from the latch — but you can still lift the handle to engage the mortice bolt at any time.
The first person to add the lock to their TTLock account becomes the administrator. The administrator can then add or delete users, passcodes, RFID cards, and fingerprints remotely or locally. If you need to transfer administration or the lock has been previously set up, perform a factory reset before initial commissioning.
