Austyle 59406 Lever Entrance Set - Matt Black (Includes Mortice)
The Austyle 59406 is a complete smart digital lever entrance set for residential timber and aluminium doors. It combines the same five-credential lever set as the Austyle 59405 with the Austyle 49429 entrance mortice (304SS, 60mm backset) included in the box. Access methods are fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card, Bluetooth app, and mechanical key, all managed through the TTLock app (iOS and Android). Remote WiFi access is available when paired with the Austyle 59419 WiFi Gateway Hub (sold separately).
With the 49429 entrance mortice installed, the lever operates as a full entrance lock: lifting the handle engages the mortice deadbolt, and pulling down releases both the deadbolt and the latch. This makes the 59406 suitable for residential front and entry doors where both latching and deadbolt security are required out of the box, without any additional hardware purchases.

Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 4 x AA alkaline batteries (6V total) — not included. Use high-quality alkaline batteries only. Lithium and rechargeable batteries cannot be used with this lock.
- Low battery alarm activates below 4.8V via app notification and onboard indicator. Replace all four batteries at the same time.
- Micro USB emergency power port located beside the key barrel under the exterior panel. Connect a power bank to power the lock when batteries are fully depleted — then use PIN, RFID card, or the app to unlock.
- Mechanical key override provides physical backup entry at all times. Keep at least one key stored in a safe location outside the door.
Remote App Access (Optional - WiFi Gateway Required)
The 59406 does not have built-in WiFi. Remote access features — including remote unlock from anywhere, timed PIN codes, access history, and voice control via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa — require pairing the lock with the Austyle 59419 WiFi Gateway Hub (sold separately, $170). The hub connects to your 2.4GHz home WiFi and bridges the lock to the TTLock cloud.
Without a gateway, the lock operates fully as a standalone unit — fingerprint, PIN code, RFID card, Bluetooth app (within 5m), and mechanical key. All user management is done via the TTLock app over Bluetooth in close proximity.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the 59406 and 59405?
The 59406 and 59405 use identical lever sets and have the same access methods and electronic specifications. The difference is the kit configuration. The 59406 includes the 49429 entrance mortice (60mm backset) in the box, making it a complete entrance set. The 59405 includes a tubular adjustable latch instead, with the mortice sold separately. If your door requires a 60mm backset entrance mortice, the 59406 is the more cost-effective choice over buying the 59405 and 49429 separately.
How does the lever handle work with the mortice installed?
With the 49429 mortice fitted: lift the handle upward to engage the mortice deadbolt (securing the door). Pull the handle downward to release both the deadbolt and the latch (opening the door). When the lock auto-locks electronically, the handle disengages from the latch — but you can still lift the handle at any time to engage the deadbolt manually from inside.
My door has a 70mm backset — is this lock compatible?
No. The included 49429 mortice has a fixed 60mm backset. If your door has a 70mm backset, the 49429 will not fit. In that case, consider the 59405 with its adjustable 60-70mm tubular latch, which can accommodate a 70mm backset. See our guide to measuring your lock backset before ordering.
What is anti-peeping passcode entry?
The 59406 supports virtual passcode entry to prevent observers identifying your actual PIN. Enter any random digits before or after your real PIN, then press # — the lock ignores the surrounding digits and recognises only the correct sequence within the string. This is enabled by default and requires no configuration.
How do I reset the lock to factory settings?
Remove the battery cover on the interior panel. Long-press the reset button beneath the battery cover for 5 seconds until you hear "Please Input Initialisation Passcode." Enter 000# on the keypad. All stored users, codes, and credentials are cleared. Additional Information
The arrow stamped on the rear of the backplate spindle hub must point downward when the 59406 is installed with the 49429 mortice. This is the only correct configuration for this kit. Incorrect arrow orientation will prevent the lock from functioning. Confirm arrow direction before commissioning. IP55 confirms the exterior panel is tested against water spray from any direction and dust ingress. The lock must never be installed in prolonged direct rain or sunlight — position it under an eave or in a sheltered area. No warranty is provided for water entering from inside the door. Not suitable for tongue-and-groove doors.
Only high-quality alkaline AA batteries (4 x AA, 6V total) are supported. Lithium and rechargeable batteries cannot be used and their use may void the warranty. If fingerprint accuracy decreases, check battery voltage first — low voltage commonly affects biometric performance before the low battery alarm triggers.
The first person to add the lock to their TTLock account becomes the administrator. If transferring administration or recommissioning a lock, perform a factory reset before setup.
