Austyle 59407 Digital Lever Entrance Set - Matt Black (Aluminium Doors, Includes 30mm Mortice)
The Austyle 59407 is a narrow-profile smart digital lever entrance set designed specifically for aluminium hinged doors. The 59407 panel measures 280mm tall and 33mm wide — engineered to mount directly onto the aluminium stile of standard residential aluminium entry doors without requiring modification to the door frame. The included Austyle 49421 entrance mortice (304SS, 30mm backset) is designed for the standard lock hole pattern found in Australian aluminium hinged doors.
Access methods are fingerprint, PIN code, RFID credential, Bluetooth app, and mechanical key, managed through the TTLock app (iOS and Android). A high-visibility colour indicator display on the panel provides visual status feedback at the door. Remote WiFi access, voice control via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, and automated access management are available when paired with the Austyle 59419 WiFi Gateway Hub (sold separately).
Two alternative mortice options are available separately for non-standard installations: the 49429 entrance mortice (60mm backset) for doors with deeper lock preparation, and the 49425 sliding door mortice (304SS, 30mm backset) for aluminium sliding doors. See the locking options section below.
The 59407 is engineered for aluminium door stiles with a 30mm backset lock preparation. If your door is a sliding aluminium or security screen door, the optional 49425 sliding door mortice is available separately. For timber doors, see the 59406 Lever Entrance Set (60mm backset, includes 49429 mortice). Our guide to smart lock door type matching can help confirm the right product before ordering.

Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 4 x AAA alkaline batteries (6V total) — not included. The 59407 uses AAA batteries, not AA. This is a common ordering error — confirm battery size before purchase. Lithium and rechargeable batteries cannot be used with this lock.
- Low battery alarm activates below 4.8V via app notification and onboard indicator. Replace all four batteries at the same time with fresh alkaline AAA batteries.
- Micro USB emergency power port located beside the key barrel under the exterior panel. Connect a power bank to power the lock when batteries are fully depleted — then use PIN, RFID fob, or the app to unlock.
- Mechanical key override provides physical backup entry at all times. Keep at least one key in a safe location outside the door.
Remote App Access (Optional - WiFi Gateway Required)
The 59407 does not have built-in WiFi. Remote access features — including remote unlock from anywhere, timed PIN codes, access history, and voice control via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa — require pairing the lock with the Austyle 59419 WiFi Gateway Hub (sold separately). The hub connects to your 2.4GHz home WiFi and bridges the lock to the TTLock cloud. The gateway must be installed within 10m of the lock.
Without a gateway, the lock operates fully as a standalone unit — fingerprint, PIN code, RFID fob, Bluetooth app (within 5m), and mechanical key. User management is done via the TTLock app over Bluetooth in close proximity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 59407 suitable for my aluminium door?
The 59407 is designed for standard residential aluminium hinged doors with a 30mm backset lock preparation. The included 49421 mortice fits the standard Australian aluminium hinged door hole pattern. If your aluminium door is a sliding door, the 49425 sliding door mortice is available separately. If you have a timber door, see the 59406 (60mm backset, 304SS entrance mortice included). Our door type matching guide and backset measurement guide can help confirm compatibility before ordering.
What batteries does the 59407 use?
The 59407 uses 4 x AAA alkaline batteries — not AA. This is a common point of confusion when comparing with other Austyle models (the 59405 and 59406 both use 4 x AA). Only high-quality alkaline batteries should be used. Lithium and rechargeable batteries cannot be used with this lock. If fingerprint reader accuracy decreases, replace the batteries — low voltage commonly causes biometric performance issues before the low battery alarm triggers.
What are the alternative mortice options?
The 59407 supports three mortice configurations. The 49421 (30mm backset, 304SS) is included as standard and suits most aluminium hinged doors. The 49429 (60mm backset entrance mortice) suits doors with deeper lock preparation. The 49425 (304SS, 28mm backset) suits aluminium sliding or security screen doors. The 49429 and 49425 are sold separately. Confirm your door type and backset measurement before ordering an alternative mortice.
What is the correct spindle hub arrow direction?
The correct direction depends on the locking configuration. When installing with the tubular latch only, the spindle hub arrow must point upward. When installing with a mortice lock (49421, 49429, or 49425), the spindle hub arrow must point toward the handle. This is the opposite of the 59405 mortice setup — confirm the correct orientation before final tightening. Incorrect arrow direction will prevent the lock from operating correctly. See the setup guide on page 4 of the installation manual.
How does the handle work with the mortice installed?
With any mortice fitted: lift the handle upward to engage the mortice deadbolt. Pull the handle downward to release both the deadbolt and the latch. When the lock auto-locks electronically, the handle disengages from the latch — but you can still lift the handle to engage the deadbolt from inside. See our guide on common smart lock installation mistakes if the deadbolt isn't operating correctly after installation.
Additional Information
The 59407 spindle hub arrow direction rule is the reverse of the 59405. With the 59407: arrow must point UP when using latch only, and toward the HANDLE when using any mortice. Confirm the orientation before commissioning the lock. The power cable must be carefully fed through the door during installation — do not pull on the cable with force and do not allow the hardware to hang from the cable.
The 59407 uses 4 x AAA alkaline batteries. The 59405 and 59406 use 4 x AA batteries. Using AA batteries in the 59407 will not work — confirm battery size before purchase. Only high-quality alkaline AAA batteries are supported. Lithium or rechargeable batteries cannot be used and will void the warranty.
The exterior panel is IP55 rated — tested for water spray resistance and dust ingress protection. Never install the lock in a position of prolonged direct exposure to rain or sunlight. Position under an eave or in a sheltered area. No warranty is provided for water entering from inside the door. Not suitable for tongue-and-groove doors. Not suitable for gate installation.
The 59407 includes a high-visibility colour indicator display — an LED strip positioned between the keypad and the lever on the exterior panel. This provides visual status feedback including confirmation of successful access, low battery indication, and lock status. The indicator display is a distinguishing feature of the 59407 not present on the 59405 and 59406.
The first person to add the lock to their TTLock account becomes the administrator. If recommissioning a previously used lock, perform a factory reset before setup. For TTLock app guidance, see our TTLock user manual reference. For gateway setup and WiFi connectivity troubleshooting, see the Smart Lock Gateway Comparison guide. The gateway must operate on a 2.4GHz WiFi band — 5GHz is not supported.
1-year mechanical and 1-year electronic warranty on residential installations, provided by Austyle Architectural Hardware. Proof of purchase required for all claims. Batteries, water ingress from inside the door, and damage caused by incorrect installation or use outside stated specifications are not covered. Returns & Warranty
