Austyle 89413 Smart C4 Key In Lever Set - Silver White
The Austyle 89413 is a smart digital lever latch set designed for residential entry doors. It combines Bluetooth app control, PIN code, RFID card, fingerprint, and a C4 Australian standard profile mechanical key override into a single lever set that retrofits onto most existing doors. The lock is managed through the TTLock app (iOS and Android) and includes a high-security guard bolt latch for additional security.
The 89413 uses Bluetooth for local proximity control. Remote access from outside Bluetooth range requires the Austyle WiFi hub 59419 (sold separately) — the lock does not have built-in Wi-Fi. The WiFi hub connects to your home 2.4GHz network and bridges the lock to the TTLock app for remote unlock capability.
The lock is rated IP55 for weather resistance and is designed for residential use only. It is not suitable for gates or tongue-and-groove door constructions. This page is for the Silver White finish (model 89413). The same lock is also available in Black (model 59413).

Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 4 x AA alkaline batteries (6V total) — not included.
- Alkaline batteries only — lithium and rechargeable batteries must not be used with this lock. Energizer Max Plus alkaline batteries are recommended for best performance.
- Low voltage alarm activates when voltage drops below 4.8V, via app notification.
- C4 mechanical key override — key slot is on the front panel. Keep at least one key stored in a safe location outside the door at all times.
- No USB emergency power input — mechanical key is the only backup access method if batteries are fully depleted.
Remote Access (Optional – WiFi Hub Required)
The 89413 does not have built-in Wi-Fi. Remote unlock and remote access management require the Austyle WiFi hub 59419 (sold separately). The hub connects to your home 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz networks are not supported) and must be positioned within 10 metres of the lock.
Once the gateway is configured via the TTLock app, a Wi-Fi symbol appears on the app's main screen. Tapping this symbol enables remote unlock from anywhere with internet access. Remote lock must be enabled in the lock settings to activate this feature.
Without the WiFi hub, the lock operates fully via onboard access methods: Bluetooth (within 5m), PIN code, RFID card, fingerprint, and mechanical key.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this lock have built-in Wi-Fi?
No. The 89413 communicates via Bluetooth only. Remote unlock requires the Austyle WiFi hub 59419 (sold separately), which must be within 10 metres of the lock and connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. 5GHz networks are not supported.
What is a C4 key profile and why does it matter?
C4 is an Australian standard profile used widely in residential and light commercial locksets in Australia. A C4 key override means the emergency bypass cylinder uses this common Australian profile, which can be incorporated into existing master keying systems by an Australian locksmith. Confirm keying requirements with your locksmith before ordering.
Can I use rechargeable or lithium batteries?
No. The installation manual specifically states that lithium and rechargeable batteries must not be used. Only high-quality alkaline batteries (4 x AA, 6V total) are compatible. Energizer Max Plus alkaline batteries are recommended by Austyle for consistent electronic performance.
What is the anti-peeping scramble code?
The lock supports anti-peeping virtual passcode entry. You can enter random digits either before or after your actual PIN, followed by the # key. The lock ignores the extra digits and only reads your correct passcode within the string. This prevents onlookers from identifying your PIN from keypad wear or shoulder surfing.
How do I reset the lock to factory settings?
Remove the battery cover and long-press the reset button for 5 seconds until you hear "Please Input Initialisation Passcode." Then input "000#" on the keypad. This clears all users from the lock's memory and returns it to factory state, allowing it to be re-linked to the TTLock app. Only do this if you are not the current administrator.
Additional Information
This lock requires installation on a smooth, flat door surface to maintain its IP55 water tightness. It is not suitable for tongue-and-groove doors, as the groove allows water ingress. The exterior panel is IP55 rated but no warranty applies to water damage entering from the inside of the door. Position the lock under an eave or in a sheltered area away from direct sustained weather exposure for maximum service life.
The lever handle on both front and rear panels must be adjusted to match the direction the door opens before installation — loosen the screw, adjust the handle, tighten the screw. Select the correct spindle: 60mm for doors 35-48mm thick; 75mm for doors 48-65mm thick. The spindle must not protrude more than 30mm from the door's inside face — if it does, switch to the shorter spindle. Confirm door handing and thickness before drilling.
The latch includes a high-security guard bolt that engages automatically when the door closes against the striker plate. Ensure the guard bolt is correctly positioned into the striker cutout during installation — incorrect positioning prevents the guard bolt from engaging and reduces the security of the latch. Check the anti-rattle tongue adjustment as part of the installation checklist.
The C4 key override is located on the front panel of the lock. Keep at least one mechanical key stored outside the property at all times in case of battery failure or electronic lockout. There is no USB emergency power input on this model — the mechanical key is the only backup access method.
Austyle recommends the following maintenance every 6 months: check that all mortice and panel screws are tight; replace batteries if percentage is low (Energizer Max Plus recommended); wipe the lock surface with a damp cloth using water only; check the rubber gasket seal between the lock and door is still in good condition.
The Austyle 89413 is covered by a 1-year mechanical warranty and a 1-year electronic warranty from date of purchase, applicable to residential installations only. The warranty does not cover water damage entering from the inside of the door, damage caused by use on non-residential or gate applications, or incorrect battery types.
