Austyle 59419 WiFi Gateway Hub - White
The Austyle 59419 WiFi Gateway Hub is a plug-in WiFi bridge that connects compatible Austyle smart locks to the TTLock app (iOS ![]()
). Without this hub, Austyle smart locks that use Bluetooth-only connectivity operate as standalone units on their onboard access methods - the difference between Bluetooth-only and gateway-connected operation is explained in our TTLock platform guide. Pairing with the 59419 unlocks remote unlock, timed PIN code management, access history, and user management from anywhere with an internet connection.
Setup requires no tools or technical knowledge: plug the hub into a standard power socket, add it to your home or office WiFi network via the TTLock app, then add your Austyle lock to the app. The hub communicates with compatible Austyle locks within its wireless range and bridges them to your 2.4GHz WiFi connection.
The exception in the Austyle range is the 59410 Lever Latch Set, which has WiFi built into the lock body and connects directly to your network without this hub. All other Austyle smart locks in the current range require the 59419 for remote app access. See the compatibility table below.

Do You Need This Hub?
Most Austyle smart locks talk to your phone over Bluetooth at the door and need this hub only when you want remote (away-from-home) features. If you are still weighing up whether a gateway belongs in your setup, our guide on whether you actually need a gateway is a useful starting point.

How the Gateway Works
The 59419 acts as a bridge between your Austyle smart lock and the TTLock cloud. The lock communicates with the hub over a short-range wireless connection; the hub relays that communication over your home WiFi network to the TTLock servers, which in turn communicate with the TTLock app on your phone. This chain is what enables remote features - without the hub, the lock can only be reached when your phone is within Bluetooth range (approximately 5m).
If the hub loses power or your internet connection drops, the lock continues to work normally on all its onboard credentials - PIN code, RFID card, fingerprint, Bluetooth (within range), and mechanical key. Only the remote app features are unavailable until the hub reconnects. See our guide on how smart locks behave when the internet is down.
For a full explanation of what a gateway does and the comparison between gateway-connected and Bluetooth-only operation, see our gateway comparison guide and our TTLock gateway selection guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
All Austyle smart locks in the current range except the 59410. The 59410 Lever Latch Set has built-in 2.4GHz WiFi and connects directly to your network without this hub. The 59405, 59406, 59407, 59409, 59413, and 89413 all require the 59419 for remote app access.
The 59419 runs on the TTLock platform, which is also used by other brands including McGrath and Lockton. In principle it may function with other TTLock-compatible locks, but Austyle only confirms compatibility with its own range. Use with non-Austyle locks is not covered by the Austyle warranty. See our TTLock hardware ecosystem guide for more on cross-brand compatibility.
No. The lock operates independently of the hub at all times. Losing hub power or WiFi only disables the remote app features - the lock continues to function normally via its onboard access methods (PIN, RFID, fingerprint, Bluetooth within range, mechanical key). See our guide on how smart locks behave when the internet is down.
No. The hub connects to 2.4GHz WiFi only. Modern dual-band routers that automatically steer devices between 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands can sometimes prevent the hub from connecting. If you experience setup difficulties, check your router settings and ensure the 2.4GHz band is available separately, or temporarily disable band steering during setup. Our gateway guide explains how band steering interferes with gateway pairing.
The maximum number of locks supported per hub is not published in Austyle's available documentation. Contact Terry's or Austyle directly if you are planning a multi-lock installation and need to confirm capacity before purchasing.
Additional Information
The hub will not connect to a 5GHz network. Many modern routers combine both bands under a single network name and automatically steer devices - this can prevent the hub from pairing successfully. If setup fails, check your router settings and ensure the hub is connecting to the 2.4GHz band. Most routers allow you to temporarily separate the bands or give them distinct names to resolve this. For a detailed explanation, see our blog on why smart locks drop off WiFi and our gateway guide on band steering and gateway setup.
Position the hub within reasonable wireless range of your lock and within reach of a power socket. The hub communicates with the lock via the TTLock protocol; excessive distance or walls between the hub and lock can affect reliability. Placing the hub near the door - on the same floor and ideally within 10 metres - is recommended for consistent performance. Our gateway guide has more on gateway placement.
Austyle's recommended setup sequence is: (1) plug in the hub, (2) add the hub to your network via the TTLock app, (3) install the smart lock on the door, (4) add the lock to the app. Adding the lock to the app before the hub is connected to your network is a common cause of setup difficulty. If you run into issues, the TTLock user manual and our TTLock tips and tricks guide are useful references.
The 59419 uses the TTLock platform, which is shared by several Australian smart lock brands including McGrath and Lockton. While the hub may function with other TTLock-based locks, Austyle only warranties its own range. If you are running a mixed TTLock installation, confirm compatibility before purchase. See our TTLock hardware ecosystem guide for a broader platform overview.
