The Borg BL5000KMG Lever Keypad Only is Borg's external grade chrome plated BL5000 series outside lever keypad, sold on its own as a replacement keypad only. It is the spare the BL5201MG external grade lock takes, and the BL5001 and other BL5000 series lock pages list it too - see Compatible Borg Locks and Lockwood Conversions.
Like every lock in our mechanical digital range, it needs no batteries, wiring or app. Borg makes the BL5000 series for medium to heavy duty doors, and this keypad has the series' F button for free passage. The code is changed On The Bench - the lock comes off the door for it (how the bench change works).

To change the code, the lock comes off the door, the four red screws and the cover panel come off the code chamber, and the coded (red) and un-coded (blue) pieces are moved with tweezers while C is held down. It works, but it is fiddly. Spare coded and un-coded pieces are sold separately if one goes missing mid-change. Can I use it to convert a Lockwood lock?
Yes, with the matching Borg kit: the BL50013572K for a Lockwood 3572 mortice lock (or the BL50013572KBTB for a keypad on both sides) and the BL50013582K for a 3582 on an outward-opening door. None of the kits includes a keypad. Ask us to check your lock first.

- Keypad only, by design: replacing just the weathered outside unit keeps the inside handle, latch and strike already on the door - why spare parts matter.
- External grade is not marine grade: the chrome plating suits ordinary weather; coastal sites need Marine Grade Pro. Our honest corrosion comparison covers the difference across brands.
- Keep spare pieces for the bench: BLS515 coded and BLS514 un-coded pieces are the 5000 series spares.
- Service it on a schedule: the Borg servicing guide (PDF) covers a light monthly clean with a silicone-based spray - not an oil like WD40 - and a yearly service with the lock off the door. On an outside door, keep to it.

All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. - Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd first if you purchased through us or one of its associated trading names - we will assess the issue and manage the warranty process with LSC on your behalf. You do not need to contact LSC or Borg Locks UK directly.
- Have your proof of purchase ready (receipt or order confirmation).
- Warranty claims for Borg products in Australia are processed through LSC, the authorised Australian importer and distributor. Where an item is returned to LSC, freight charges must be prepaid and the item returned within the warranty period.
- If LSC finds the returned item to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced, and a detailed assessment report is provided to the customer after examination.
