Borg BL2621 MG Pro ECP Mechanical Digital Knob/Knob Lock – Back-to-Back Keypads – Marine Grade Pro – Easicode Pro – Black
The Borg BL2621 MG Pro ECP is a fully mechanical digital lock fitted with keypads on both sides of the door – the knob/knob back-to-back configuration. Entering the correct PIN code is required to open the door from either side, making it the correct choice for areas requiring controlled access in both directions. It is part of the Marine Grade Pro series, finished in MG Pro 2 black marine grade coating and tested to 1,000 hours of continuous salt spray.
The BL2621 MG Pro ECP uses the Easicode Pro (ECP) system for on-door code change without lock removal. An anti-thrust deadlatch pin ensures the door automatically secures when closed. The lock is fully mechanical, requires no batteries, and is cycle tested to 100,000+ operations – double the cycle rating of the single-sided BL2601 model.
For a single-sided version (keypad outside, free lever inside), see the BL2601 MG Pro ECP.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
The BL2621 MG Pro ECP has a full keypad unit on both the outside and inside of the door. Both keypads share the same code. This configuration provides controlled access in both directions and is designed for applications where entry and exit must both be code-controlled.
Unlike single-sided models where the inside lever is always free to turn, the BL2621's inside keypad requires the correct PIN to be entered before the inside knob will operate. Occupants cannot exit without knowing the code. Confirm this controlled-exit operation suits your application and complies with any applicable fire egress or building regulations before purchasing.
MG Pro 2 marine grade external coating provides increased protection against saltwater corrosion and UV degradation. Suitable for pool gates, waterfront properties, marina facilities, and coastal environments where standard finishes degrade prematurely.
Tested to 1,000 continuous hours of salt spray exposure. Borg warrants corrosion resistance for 12 months from date of sale under specified conditions.
The PIN code can be changed on the door using the included code change key – no lock removal required. A code change disabling plug is included to prevent unauthorised code changes once set.
Entirely mechanical. No power source, no wiring, and no battery maintenance at any point in the product's lifetime.
For heavy duty: consider the Lockwood DX, Borg 7701, or Carbine CDL7000 Series.
The BL2621 MG Pro ECP accepts one active PIN code at a time. The same code operates both the outside and inside keypads simultaneously.
Installing on a narrow aluminium gate frame?
Planning to mount this lock on an external gate with a 50mm × 50mm (or larger) aluminium frame?
Worried the standard 60mm latch included in the box won't fit the frame?
You're right — it won't.
To fit correctly on gate frames you will need the correct extended latch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I open the door from inside without entering the code?
No. The BL2621's back-to-back configuration means the inside knob only operates when the correct PIN code is entered on the inside keypad. There is no free egress from inside. Anyone inside the secured area must know the PIN to exit. This is by design for applications requiring controlled access in both directions, but it must be confirmed as compliant with any applicable fire egress or building occupancy requirements before installation.
Does the same PIN code work on both sides?
Yes. Both the outside and inside keypads use the same PIN code. Both keypads also have the same code change capability via Easicode Pro, so the code can be changed from either side using the included code change key.
What is the difference between the BL2621 and the BL2601?
The BL2601 MG Pro ECP has a keypad on the outside and a free-turning lever on the inside – no code is needed to exit. The BL2621 has keypads on both sides, requiring the code to both enter and exit. The BL2621 is also cycle tested to 100,000+ operations, double the BL2601's 50,000+ rating. Choose BL2621 only if controlled exit is a deliberate design requirement for your application.
How do I change the PIN code?
With the door in the open position, enter the current code on either keypad, insert the code change key into the hole in the * button and hold it down, press C to clear the existing code, enter your new code, release the code change key, then press C to confirm. Test the new code at least five times from both sides before closing the door. Both keypads will operate on the new code simultaneously.
Can the code change disabling plug be used to lock out one side only?
No. The code change disabling plug is inserted into the * button hole on either keypad and prevents ECP code changes being initiated on that unit. If preventing code changes on both sides is required, a plug would need to be fitted to each keypad independently. Contact Terry's for advice on the correct configuration for your application.
Additional Information
The BL2621's back-to-back configuration means occupants must enter the PIN to exit. In most Australian buildings, doors on exit paths are required to be operable without a key or code in an emergency under the National Construction Code (NCC). Confirm with your building certifier or fire safety consultant that this lock's operation is compliant for your specific application and occupancy classification before specifying it on any door that may be part of an exit path.
The BL2621 is cycle tested to 100,000+ operations, compared to 50,000+ for the single-sided BL2601. This higher rating reflects the additional mechanical demand of operating both keypads and makes the BL2621 appropriate for medium-duty doors that see more frequent use. For very high traffic applications, still consider a purpose-rated heavy duty product.
Monthly: clean both keypad surfaces with a light spray of silicon-based lubricant (such as GT85); remove excess with a soft cloth. Do not use WD-40 or oil-based lubricants on this model – follow the general Borg servicing guide which specifies silicon-based products. Annually: remove the lock, spray internally through the button holes on both units, and test all buttons and both knobs. Refer to the Borg Servicing Guide PDF for full instructions.
If fitting to a narrow aluminium gate frame (50mm x 50mm or similar), the 60mm backset tubular latch included in the box will not align correctly with the gate frame. An extended gate latch (BLS272000 – left and right hand options) is required. Add the correct gate latch to your cart before ordering to avoid delays at install.
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled — doing so will invalidate the warranty.
