All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled - doing so will invalidate the warranty. Proof of purchase required for all claims.

Key Override
Where exactly is the key override cylinder on the BL5701?
Inside the lever handle body of the outside (keypad) unit. There is no separate cylinder below the keypad on the face plate - the keyhole sits in the lever itself, visible on the side or face of the lever depending on the door's handing. That is the defining feature that separates the BL5701 from a standard keypad lock with an external cylinder: the face plate stays clean, the override is in a natural gripping position, and the key turns the clutch directly without a secondary linkage.

No. Neither BL5701 variant is fire tested, so the lock is not for fire doors. If you need a fire tested lever lock on the BL5000 platform, the BL5001 is tested to AS 1905.1-2005 (up to 4 hours, depending on the type of doorset) but has no key override, as is the DDA BL5401SSDDA. The BL5701 comes with fixings for 35-54mm doors. For a thicker door, talk to us at order time about longer fixings and the spindle: the supplied 80mm and 90mm spindles cover the standard range, and page 3 of the ECP Instruction Segments V2 (PDF) covers spindle selection by lock type and door thickness.

Can I use a 70mm backset with the BL5701?
Yes. The 60mm backset tubular latch is included; a 70mm backset latch is available separately - the satin chrome BLL500070 or the black MG Pro BLSMGPRO570 - and the lock body accepts it without modification to the keypad or inside handle. Use the drilling template (PDF) to mark the 60mm or 70mm position.

- Warranty claims for Borg products in Australia are processed through LSC, the authorised Australian importer and distributor. Where an item is returned to LSC, freight charges must be prepaid and the item returned within the warranty period.
- If LSC finds the returned item to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced, and a detailed assessment report is provided to the customer after examination.
