The Borg BL2701SCECP is a fully mechanical digital lock from the BL2700 ECP series. It requires no batteries, no mains power, and no electronics — all internal mechanisms are driven entirely by the keypad button actions. The lock accepts a single PIN code selected from over 4,000 possible combinations and features Borg’s EasiCode Pro system for on-door code changing without tools or removal from the door.

The BL2701SCECP includes a Silca YA5 6-pin mechanical key override cylinder as standard, providing keyway backup entry when needed. The body is finished in satin chrome and is fully reversible for left-hand or right-hand door installation. A removable holdback function is included, allowing the inside handle to be held open for situations requiring free passage.

The lock is cycle tested to 50,000 operations and is rated for internal light to medium use — residential entry doors, office access points, secure storage rooms, and similar low-traffic applications. It is not rated for high-traffic commercial environments or external weathered exposure.

EasiCode Pro – How the Code Change Works:
EasiCode Pro is Borg’s on-door code change system. Unlike older Borg models that required removal of a code disc, EasiCode Pro allows the code to be changed at any time while the lock remains installed. The process uses the dedicated code change button and the supplied block pin. This makes the lock well suited to rental and strata applications where tenant codes must be changed regularly and promptly. The same block pin can also be inserted into the lock to permanently disable the external code change function — useful where the code must be locked down and only changed by someone with physical access to the lock internals. Silca YA5 Key Override Cylinder:
The Silca YA5 6-pin cylinder supplied with the BL2701SCECP is the standard key profile for the BL2700 series. Keys can be duplicated at most locksmith workshops. If a restricted or master keyed profile is required, the supplied cylinder can be swapped for a compatible YA5-profile cylinder. Confirm fitment and suitability with your locksmith before ordering a replacement cylinder. Note that duplicating or replacing cylinders is a job for a licensed locksmith — do not attempt to dismantle the cylinder housing as this will void the warranty.

Anti-Thrust Deadlocking Latch:
The BL2701 uses a deadlocking tubular latch with an anti-thrust pin. When the door closes fully, the latch bolt automatically deadlocks — preventing the bolt from being retracted by force using a card or flexible tool. For the deadlocking function to engage reliably, the strike plate must be correctly aligned and fully engaged with the latch bolt. Code Security – How Borg Mechanical Codes Work:
The BL2701SCECP keypad has 12 coded buttons providing over 4,000 unique combinations. The lock accepts a single active code at any time. On a Borg mechanical keypad, the order in which buttons are pressed does not matter — only the combination of buttons pressed counts. Codes that use all buttons in a single row or predictable sequences are easier to identify from wear patterns; choose a combination that distributes button presses across the keypad and change the code if it is suspected to have been compromised.

Borg Locks Warranty – 12 Months (Australia)
Borg Locks are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. Locks must not be dismantled; dismantling the lock voids the warranty.
