The Burg-Wächter Key Safe 30 is a battery-free wall-mount key safe with a sliding shutter flap over the dials. Slide the flap down to reach the dials and the release button; closed, it protects them from dust, dirt and direct rain. Inside there is both a key hook and a magnetic pad, holding keys up to 9cm long. The die-cast zinc body opens on a 4-dial resettable mechanical combination with 10,000 possible codes.

The Key Safe 30 ships set to 0-0-0-0. Change it to a personal code before putting the unit into service.
Slide the shutter flap down to expose the dials and the release button. Turn all four dials to your combination, grasp the sides of the top section and pull the lid towards you. To lock, close the lid and scramble the dials away from the set combination.
Yes. Open the safe with the current code, slide the reset pin left and down as shown in the instruction diagram, and turn the dials to your new combination so each number sits centrally and clicks into place. Return the pin to its original position, then close the lid and check the box opens with the new code. There is no cap to remove - that extra step applies only to the Burg-Wächter Key Safe 10 and Burg-Wächter Key Safe 20.
There is no override or emergency access method. If the code is lost, the safe cannot be opened. Record the combination and keep it somewhere separate and secure before the unit goes into service. The interior is 65mm wide and 45mm high, with both a hook and a magnetic pad, and comfortably holds multiple standard house keys up to 9cm. For bulkier keyrings or keys up to 11cm, the Burg-Wächter Key Safe 40 has an 80mm-wide interior.

- Reset mechanism - Key Safe 30, 40 and 50: The Key Safe 30 uses the simplified slide-pin reset: open the safe, slide the pin left and down, set the new combination, return the pin, then close the lid and check the new code. There is no plastic cap to remove - that differs from the Burg-Wächter Key Safe 10 and 20.
- Installation: Fix to a solid masonry, brick or timber wall using all four corner holes on the back plate. Drill 6mm holes, insert the supplied plugs and secure with the supplied screws; Burg-Wächter notes that some wall types need special dowels for a secure anchor. Choose a location that is discreet but has enough light for the authorised user to read the dials, and keep the lid closed when not in use. The shutter flap adds weather protection, but avoid positioning the unit directly under a downpipe or in a sustained water flow zone. Prefer a professional fit? - Maintenance: Turn all four dials weekly to keep them moving freely, as Burg-Wächter recommends. Wipe the body with a dry cloth periodically. Keep the shutter flap closed when not in use.
