Carbine CDL7200LL-KDSC-HD Mechanical Digital Lock - Dual Keypad Dual BCA Lever
The Carbine CDL7200LL-KDSC-HD is the dual keypad model of the CDL7200 Heavy Duty series. It features a mechanical digital keypad on both the external and internal faces, along with BCA-compliant lever handles on both sides. This means a valid code must be entered to operate the lever from either side of the door - providing keyless code-controlled access and exit from both faces.
This model suits applications where controlled egress is required as well as controlled access - such as server rooms, secure storage, pharmaceutical stores, or restricted zones where movement in both directions needs to be logged and code-controlled. Like all CDL7 HD series locks, it features stainless steel cryptographic elements, exceeds 100,000 cycle openings, and is salt spray tested to 240 hours (C7 High).
Available in 60mm backset only (CDL7200LL-KDSC-HD). The external lever features a security break point - see the caution note below. The lock body is 59mm wide, covering standard NK2000 and Lockwood 530 retrofit holes.
The external lever on this lock features a security break point: it will shear off under excessive pull force. Do not use the external lever as a pull handle on heavy doors. If significant pull force is required to open the door, install a separate pull handle. Consider the CDL7100SC-HD (knob external) for heavy door applications.
Exceeds 100,000 cycle openings. Stainless steel cryptographic elements. Suitable for secure commercial and institutional doors requiring code-controlled access from both sides.
A mechanical digital keypad is fitted on both the external and internal faces. Code entry is required to operate the lever from either side. Both keypads use the same code. This model is suited to applications where egress control is required in addition to access control.
240-hour salt spray tested per AS4145.2-2008. Rated C7 (High). Finish degradation excluded from warranty. Salt spray testing information →
Both lever handles comply with BCA accessibility clearance requirements (35-45mm grip clearance per AS1428.1). Note: the requirement to enter a code before operating either lever should be considered in context of any DDA or egress compliance requirements for the specific installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do both keypads use the same code?
Yes. Both the external and internal keypads use the same code. The code is set once (via the external pad rear cover) and applies to both sides. There is no separate internal code.
Can this lock be used on a fire door?
No. Because this lock requires a code to be entered to open the door from the inside, it cannot be used on any door that forms part of a fire egress path. Australian building codes require that occupants be able to exit fire-rated egress doors without the need to operate a key, code, or any similar device. This lock is not suitable for fire door applications. See our fire door compliance guide for options that are certified for fire door use.
Why does the external lever have a break point and what does that mean in practice?
The break point is a security feature that causes the lever to shear off if excessive lateral or pull force is applied - preventing the lever from being used to force the lock. In practice, this means the lever cannot be used to pull a heavy door open. A separate pull handle must be installed on heavy doors where significant pull force is required to overcome a door closer or wind load.
What is the difference between the CDL7200LL-KDSC-HD and the CDL7200LL-HD?
The CDL7200LL-HD has a keypad on the external face only. The internal lever operates freely without a code. The CDL7200LL-KDSC-HD adds a keypad to the internal face also, requiring a code from both sides. See the CDL7200LL-HD product page for the single keypad model.
Can this lock be used with a 70mm backset?
The standard listed item code (CDL7200LL-KDSC-HD) is 60mm. Contact us to confirm availability of 70mm or 127mm backset options for this specific variant. How to measure your lock backset →
Additional Information
This lock requires code entry to open from the internal face. It must not be specified on any door that forms part of a regulated egress path under the National Construction Code - including fire exits, stairwell doors, and any door through which occupants must pass to reach a safe place during an emergency. Certain occupancies and door positions have mandatory free-egress requirements. Confirm suitability with your building certifier before specifying. Apartment fire doors and compliance guide →
The security break point on the external lever means it must not be used to pull heavy doors open. Install a separate pull handle rated for the door weight and closer force where required.
Factory default code C13579 must be changed and tested before fitting. The single code applies to both keypads. Test both sides of the lock with the door open before closing.
