Lockwood Cortex Spare Access Cards - Pack of 5, Red
The Lockwood Cortex CTXCARD05 is a pack of five genuine Lockwood Cortex RFID access cards in a Red finish. The cards are supplied in red - rather than the standard Satin Chrome - to make user credentials easy to tell apart at a glance, a common requirement on sites that colour-code cards by user type, access zone, or credential level. Aside from the colour, they are identical to the Satin Chrome cards and are enrolled and used in exactly the same way.
These are replacement or additional user credentials for Lockwood Cortex digital lockset installations. Each Cortex lockset ships with 2 cards included and supports up to 40 enrolled cards in total, so a single pack lets a site manager or installer expand user capacity or replace lost cards without resetting the system. The cards are read by the Cortex reader at a range of under 2 cm and carry no battery of their own. They must be enrolled into the Cortex system before use - they are not pre-programmed.
The Red card variant is a special order item and dispatch times vary. Please contact us before ordering to confirm current availability and estimated lead time.
Key Features
- Genuine Lockwood Cortex access cards - not aftermarket.
- Pack of 5 cards in a Red finish for at-a-glance visual identification of user groups or access zones.
- Functionally identical to the Satin Chrome cards - the colour has no effect on programming, read behaviour, or access control function.
- Compatible with all three Lockwood Cortex lockset models: CTX530, CTX3772, and CTX5782.
- Read by the Cortex reader, which supports both iClass and Mifare card formats at a read range of under 2 cm.
- Up to 40 cards can be enrolled per lockset (each lockset ships with 2, leaving room for up to 38 more).
- Individual cards can be added or deleted using the Master Code without affecting any other enrolled user.
- No battery - the card is passive and draws no power.
- Cards must be enrolled via the standard Cortex programming procedure before use - they are not pre-programmed.
An RFID card is a passive credential - it holds a unique ID, carries no battery, and is presented to the reader rather than typed like a PIN. Because each card is enrolled individually, a lost or stolen card can be revoked on its own without re-issuing everyone else's. For a plain-English walk-through of RFID versus PIN, fingerprint, and the other access methods, see the RFID card / key fob section of our Smart Lock Access Methods guide.
Compatible Lockwood Cortex Locksets
These cards are enrolled into and used with any of the Lockwood Cortex digital locksets below. The card is the same across all three - the locksets differ in their lock type, backset, and fire rating.
Compatibility is confirmed for the Lockwood Cortex range only. These cards are not confirmed for use with other brands' access control systems.

- Expanding user capacity on an existing Cortex installation (up to 40 cards per lockset)

Available Finish Options
Card colour does not affect functionality, programming, or read behaviour - it is used purely for visual identification.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. The colour is purely for visual identification. Red cards are enrolled and operated in exactly the same way as Satin Chrome cards and behave identically at the reader.
No. Each card must be enrolled at the lockset before it will grant access - a card is added (or later deleted) using the Master Code, following the standard Cortex procedure set out in the operating instructions supplied with the lockset.
Each Cortex lockset supports up to 40 enrolled cards in total. Since each lockset ships with 2 cards included, there is capacity for up to 38 additional cards.
Yes. An individual card user can be added or deleted using the Master Code without disturbing any other enrolled user - useful when a single card is lost or a user leaves.
Additional Information
Cortex spare cards come in Red (this product) and Satin Chrome. Satin Chrome is the standard finish that matches the lockset hardware; Red is used where a site wants to distinguish one user group or zone from another. Mixing colours across groups makes it obvious which credential type a card belongs to. The choice is purely visual.
If a card goes missing it can be deleted from the Cortex system on its own, using its assigned user ID and the Master Code. No other enrolled card is affected, so there is no need to re-issue credentials to the rest of the site.
Cortex spare cards are supplied in packs of 5 (this product, CTXCARD05) and packs of 10 (CTXCARD-10). This listing is the 5-card Red pack. Contact us if you need the 10-card pack or larger quantities.
