FORGE CB2 Hidden Smart Cabinet and Drawer Lock - RFID Card, TTLock
At A Glance
(G5 Gateway)
The FORGE CB2 Hidden Smart Cabinet Lock (FECB02) mounts entirely inside a timber cabinet door or drawer front - nothing shows on the outside and nothing is drilled through. It reads a MIFARE M1 card held against the outside of the door (up to 1,000 cards) and opens from the TTLock app over Bluetooth, with FORGE's optional G5 gateway for remote access. It suits timber panels 1-50 mm thick.
There is no keypad, so there are no passcodes and no Public (locker) Mode - the CB2 works in Private Mode only. Choose the version from the options on this page: FECB02TB with the spring-loaded latch receiver (door pusher) for cabinet doors, or FECB02TBDR with the fixed latch receiver for drawers and cabinets.
It runs on 3 x AAA batteries for about 10 months. FORGE notes that if the batteries are completely drained the lock unlocks and stays unlocked - the contents are never trapped, but change the batteries when it warns you. For a cabinet lock with a keypad, see the FORGE CB1 or FORGE CB3. Made in China for FORGE, an Australian brand based in Ringwood, Victoria, with FORGE's 2-year warranty.
Usually ships in 24 hours.
Owned by FORGE Electrical (Australia) · Manufactured in China. Our independent FORGE brand profile sets out how the range compares with the other brands we stock.
Access Methods
Private Mode only: the administrator manages the lock in TTLock and issues cards or eKeys to other users.

TTLock App
Set the lock up in the free TTLock app, available for iOS and Android ![]()
. Choose Australia as your location when you sign up, give the app full permissions and turn Bluetooth on (manual page 13). After you activate it with the reset button, the latch stays retracted - the cabinet is not locked - until the lock is added as an administrator in the app, so pair it as soon as it is fitted (manual page 12; manual page 14). FORGE's TTLock pairing guide shows the general steps.
TTLock is one of the two global smart lock platforms - how it compares with Tuya is set out in our TTLock vs Tuya comparison, and the wider TTLock range in Chapter 14 - the TTLock hardware ecosystem. The app itself is covered in the TTLock app user manual.
Without a gateway the CB2 is managed over Bluetooth when your phone is within about 5-10 metres - see what a TTLock lock can do without Wi-Fi. FORGE offers the FORGE TTLock G5 gateway as the add-on for remote management: with it plugged in within range you can unlock remotely, manage cards and eKeys and check entry records from anywhere - Bluetooth vs gateway in Chapter 14. Remote Unlock has to be switched on for the lock in the app (manual page 17).
Key Features

- Private Mode - cards can be time-limited, permanent or recurring; eKeys with remote unlock or an unlock link that needs no app.
- FORGE's optional G5 gateway for remote unlock and entry records.
- 3 x AAA batteries, about 6,000 unlocks or 10 months; four beeps on unlocking when the batteries are low.
- Card-reader position sticker in the box, so users know where to hold the card.
What's in the Box
- Lock body x1
- Spring-loaded latch receiver with door pusher x1 - FECB02TB
- Fixed latch receiver x1 - FECB02TBDR, in place of the spring-loaded receiver
- ID card x1
- Double-opening door stopper plate x1
- Card reader position sticker x1
- Installation accessories kit and user manual
Contents from FORGE's In the Box lists for the two versions. FORGE's lists do not include batteries; the lock takes 3 x AAA alkaline cells. With only one card in the box and no keypad, most buyers add extra MIFARE 1K cards. The TTLock G5 gateway is sold separately.
Suitable Uses
- Office desk drawers, filing and stationery cabinets where a keypad would look out of place.
- Bedroom, wardrobe and bedside storage for valuables and documents at home.
- Owner's cupboards in short-stay rentals - guests see an ordinary door (TTLock for short stays with a gateway).
- Shared storage where each person carries their own card and the administrator can see who opened it (audit trails).
- Metal or other non-timber doors - FORGE specifies timber, and the card is read through the panel.
- Anyone who needs a code - there is no keypad; see the CB1 or CB3.
- Locker-style shared use - no Public Mode on the CB2.
- Contents that must stay locked even if the batteries die - FORGE notes it unlocks when they are completely drained.
- Outdoor or wet areas - there is no IP rating.

Will It Fit? Door Thickness, Receiver and Position
The CB2 suits timber doors and drawer fronts 1-50 mm thick. It screws to the inside face with two M3.5 x 16 mm timber screws - nothing is drilled through (manual page 9). Its position depends on the version:
Positions from FORGE's CB2 manual and its two installation measurement guides.
- Door gap (A) - on a cabinet door, the gap between the cabinet side and the door edge; on a drawer, the gap between the rail above and the top of the drawer front.
- Door thickness - 1 to 50 mm, timber.
- Receiver depth - set the spring-loaded receiver back from the frame's front edge by the door thickness plus 2 mm, and the fixed receiver by the door thickness (manual page 10; manual page 11).
- Room inside - the lock body is 82.5 x 58 mm and 22.5 mm deep, with the latch projecting 12 mm.
- Not sure? Send us a photo of the cabinet or drawer edge with a tape measure across the gap.

FORGE Smart Cabinet Locks
This product is in bold. All three run on TTLock over Bluetooth with the optional G5 gateway for remote access, and each is sold in two versions: TB with the spring-loaded latch receiver (door pusher) and TBDR with the fixed latch receiver. No IP rating - indoor cabinets and drawers.
Accessories and Spares
Other gateways are in the modules and Wi-Fi gateways category, and more cards and fobs in the RFID credentials range.
Battery and Emergency Power
The CB2 runs on 3 x AAA alkaline batteries, rated by FORGE at about 6,000 unlocks or around 10 months - the shortest of FORGE's three cabinet locks. When the batteries are low the lock beeps four times as it unlocks - change all three then. There is no USB emergency port and no key. Instead, FORGE notes that if the batteries are completely drained the lock unlocks and stays unlocked (manual page 18) - you can always get into the cabinet, but it is not secure again until new batteries go in. More on what really affects battery life and power and battery FAQs.
Weather and Environment - Indoor Cabinets
FORGE gives no IP rating for the CB2 - it is made for indoor timber cabinets and drawers, with a working range of -20 to 60 degrees C and 10-85% humidity. Keep it away from wet areas and outdoor storage.

Dimensions
The positions for each receiver are in Will It Fit? above, and the receiver drawing is also in the Dimensions tab.
Platform and Data
Platform. The CB2 runs on TTLock - Bluetooth to your phone, with the TTLock G5 gateway for remote access. Remote unlock and management need the gateway; at the cabinet the lock works without the internet.
Where your data goes. TTLock is run by Sciener, a Chinese company. Accounts outside China use TTLock's out-of-China servers; where that infrastructure is hosted, and which region Australian accounts use, is not published - in short, a Chinese company's servers, location unpublished. For the platform-by-platform picture see where each smart lock platform hosts its data, and for TTLock's security record see Chapter 14 - TTLock security.
Installation
Nothing goes through the door: the lock body screws to the inside face and the receiver fixes to the cabinet or the rail above the drawer. The installation section of the manual covers cabinet doors and drawers with drawings.
- Measure the gap (A) and mark the lock-body centreline at 46 - A mm from the cabinet side for a cabinet door, or 42 - A mm below the top edge for a drawer front - FORGE's cabinet door and drawer guides show it.
- Fix the lock body with the two M3.5 x 16 mm timber screws, fit 3 x AAA batteries and the battery cover, and stick the card-reader indicator on the outside if you want it (manual page 9).
- Fit the receiver - the spring-loaded one back from the frame's front edge by the door thickness plus 2 mm, the fixed one by the door thickness (manual page 10; manual page 11).
- Activate it by pressing the reset button with a pin until it beeps twice. The latch stays retracted until the lock is set up in the app (manual page 12).
- Add the lock in TTLock as the administrator, then enrol the cards; a valid card retracts the latch for three seconds (manual page 14).
- Unsure about the position? Terry's offers installation across the Gold Coast.
Cabinet and drawer gaps vary, so measure A on your own furniture. Photos that help us check a fit are in examples of helpful photos.
Frequently Asked Questions
The FECB02TB, with the spring-loaded receiver, for a cabinet door - it pushes the door open when it unlocks. The FECB02TBDR, with the fixed receiver, for drawers (and cabinets with their own handle).
Hold an enrolled M1 card against the outside of the door over the lock, or unlock it from the TTLock app. The sticker supplied marks where to hold the card.
Timber doors and drawer fronts 1-50 mm thick. FORGE specifies timber, because the card is read through the panel.
The lock beeps four times on unlocking when they are low. If they are completely drained, FORGE notes it unlocks and stays unlocked - so change them when it warns you.
Only for remote use. Cards and the app over Bluetooth work without it; add the FORGE TTLock G5 gateway to unlock or manage it from anywhere.
Additional Information
- Order extra cards. One card is in the box, and with no keypad a card or the app is the only way in.
- Pair it straight away. After activation the latch stays retracted until the lock is set up in TTLock.
- Change the batteries at the four-beep warning. A completely flat CB2 unlocks and stays unlocked.
- Timber only. The card is read through the door, which FORGE specifies as timber up to 50 mm.
- Mark the card spot. Stick the card-reader position sticker on the outside so users know where to hold their card.
Warranty
2-year FORGE warranty from the date of delivery - covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Excludes improper installation or maintenance, misuse, accident, normal wear and tear (including fading or dulling of finishes) and water damage beyond the product's rated IP protection. FORGE CB2 Hidden Smart Cabinet Lock - FAQ, Setup and Owner's Guide
Everything below is here to help you choose, fit, set up and live with the FORGE CB2. For general smart lock questions see our Smart Lock FAQ (Chapter 13), and for measuring and fitting the Buyer's Guide.
Choosing and Fitting
Only the latch receiver. The FECB02TB's spring-loaded receiver pushes a cabinet door open when the lock releases; the FECB02TBDR's fixed receiver suits drawers and cabinets you pull open by a handle.
1 to 50 mm, timber (manual page 2).
On a cabinet door, the lock-body centreline sits 46 - A mm from the cabinet side; on a drawer, 42 - A mm below the top edge of the front, where A is the gap (manual page 7; manual page 8).
No - the lock body screws to the inside face with two M3.5 x 16 mm timber screws, and the card is read through the panel.
Yes - FORGE lists vertical or horizontal installation, on single or double-opening doors, with the door stopper plate supplied for double doors.
Cards and Access
MIFARE M1 cards - up to 1,000. One is in the box; extra FORGE MIFARE 1K cards are sold separately (manual page 15).
Yes - cards can be time-limited, permanent or recurring, set in the app.
An eKey gives another TTLock account the right to unlock - time-limited, one-time, permanent or recurring - with options for remote unlock, an unlock link that works without the app, or near-administrator rights (manual page 16; TTLock eKeys).
That is normal - after activation the latch stays retracted until the lock is configured in the app, then it extends (manual page 12).
Remote Access and the G5 Gateway
Only for remote use. Cards work with no phone at all, and the app works over Bluetooth within about 5-10 metres. Add the FORGE TTLock G5 gateway to unlock, issue access or check records from away from the cabinet - what a gateway actually does and the G5 explained.
Plug it in indoors within Bluetooth range of the CB2, on a 2.4 or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network - the closer the better, with as few walls and cabinet panels in between as possible (gateway placement).
Remote Unlock must be switched on for the lock in the app (manual page 17). Check that the gateway shows the lock in range.
Power and Batteries
About 6,000 unlocks or 10 months on 3 x AAA alkaline cells, depending on use.
When they are low the lock beeps four times as it unlocks. If they are completely drained, FORGE notes it unlocks and stays unlocked (manual page 18) - there is no USB port or key.
Installation and Troubleshooting
Press the reset button with a pin until the lock beeps twice (manual page 18).
Hold it flat against the door over the card detection area, using the sticker as a guide, until the lock responds. Check the card has been enrolled in the app and has not expired.
