igloohome Bluetooth Smart Mortice Lock Version 2
The igloohome Bluetooth Smart Mortice Lock Version 2 is a full-format mortice leverset offering four access methods — PIN code, Bluetooth, RFID tags and stickers, and mechanical key — on a single door. Built on igloohome's algoPIN™ platform, all PIN codes are generated and validated by the lock hardware itself, with no Wi-Fi connection required at the property for any access method to function.
For Airbnb hosts and short-stay property managers, the lock connects natively to Airbnb Connect via the igloohome app. Once linked to a listing, guest PIN codes are generated automatically per confirmed reservation — delivered to guests between 1 and 48 hours before check-in, valid only for the duration of the booking, and expiring automatically at checkout. No manual code management is required between stays. See our guide to using igloohome for Airbnb in Australia and Chapter 07 — Airbnb & Short-Stay Rentals in the Buyer's Guide for the complete workflow.
The lock suits timber swing doors 40-70mm thick and is field-configurable for left- and right-hand installation. It includes both dead bolt and latch bolt operation, a child and pet safety handle function on the inner body, and a fire detection alarm that automatically unlocks the door when the internal sensor detects sustained high temperature at or above 70°C. The lock carries an IP64 rating — full dust protection and resistance to water splash from any direction. All access methods operate standalone without a hub; the optional igloohome Wi-Fi Bridge (sold separately) adds remote unlock, real-time notifications, and Alexa integration.
The igloohome Smart Mortice Lock Version 2 provides PIN code, Bluetooth, RFID, and physical key access only. The fingerprint reader is not fitted on this model. If fingerprint biometric access is required, see the igloohome Smart Mortice Lock V2 + Fingerprint, which adds fingerprint registration for up to 100 prints on the same platform.
The igloohome Smart Mortice Lock V2 integrates natively with Airbnb Connect. Guest PIN codes are generated automatically per reservation and delivered before check-in — no Wi-Fi needed at the property for any PIN to work. Add the igloohome Wi-Fi Bridge for remote unlock and real-time notifications. Full guide: Chapter 07 — Airbnb & Short-Stay Rentals.
IP64 confirms complete dust ingress protection and resistance to water splash from any direction. Suitable for sheltered external entry doors. Not rated for sustained heavy rain or direct water exposure. Install under cover wherever possible.

Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 8 x AA alkaline batteries, included in the box. Battery life is rated at up to 18 months.
- Battery recommendation: Use only Duracell, Energizer, or Panasonic alkaline AA batteries. Do NOT use Heavy Duty, Eveready, GP, or rechargeable batteries — these reduce performance and battery lifespan.
- Low battery alert: When battery level falls below 20%, the red LED pulses and short beeps sound on each lock or unlock. Below 10%, four sets of two short beeps indicate a critical level. Battery status is also visible in the igloohome app when connected via Bluetooth.
- 9V alkaline jumpstart: If AA batteries are fully depleted, hold a 9V alkaline battery against the two contact points on the outer face. The keypad will light up and beep. Enter your PIN code followed by the unlock icon while maintaining contact. Unlock within 20 seconds. Replace the AA batteries immediately after gaining access. See the How To tab for a step-by-step video.
- Physical key override: 5 emergency keys included for backup access independent of battery or electronic status.
Remote Access (Optional — Wi-Fi Bridge Required)
All four access methods on the Smart Mortice Lock V2 work fully offline without any hub or gateway. The igloohome Wi-Fi Bridge (sold separately) adds three capabilities that require internet connectivity: remote unlock from anywhere, real-time push notifications for entry events, and Alexa voice integration. The Bridge must be positioned within 10m of the lock and connects to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network only.
The lock also integrates with SmartThings. Details at igloohome.co/integrations/smartthings.
For guidance on whether you need a gateway, see Chapter 08 — Smart Lock Gateway Comparison in the Buyer's Guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
I host on Airbnb — how does guest access work automatically?
Connect your Airbnb account to the igloohome app under Account Settings, then link the lock to your listing. The app generates a unique time-limited PIN code for each confirmed reservation. The code is delivered to the guest between 1 and 48 hours before check-in and expires automatically at checkout. No Wi-Fi is needed at the property — all codes are validated locally on the lock using algoPIN technology. For the complete workflow, see our guide to using igloohome for Airbnb in Australia and Chapter 07 of the Buyer's Guide.
Can I add fingerprint access to this lock later?
No. The fingerprint reader is a hardware component fitted at the factory — it cannot be added to the V2 after purchase. If fingerprint biometric access is required, the igloohome Smart Mortice Lock V2 + Fingerprint is the same platform with the fingerprint module included from the outset.
Is this lock suitable for a fire-rated apartment door?
No. The igloohome Smart Mortice Lock V2 is not certified for use on Australian fire-rated door assemblies. Fire-safety testing cannot be conducted independently of the specific fire door — certification must cover the complete doorset. For apartment fire doors or any NCC-regulated application, see Chapter 05 — Fire Door Smart Locks and our blog on fire door types and smart lock certification for certified alternatives.
Does the lock need Wi-Fi to work?
No. PIN, Bluetooth, RFID, and key access all function without any network connection. algoPIN codes are generated via the igloohome app and validated by the lock hardware — the property does not need internet connectivity. The igloohome Wi-Fi Bridge adds optional remote features. See Airbnb Smart Locks: Do You Really Need Wi-Fi? for more on this topic.
My door is 72mm thick — will this lock fit?
No. The rated range is 40-70mm. A 72mm door falls outside the manufacturer's specification. Contact us before ordering if your door thickness is at or near the maximum. See Chapter 02 — Measuring Your Door for full guidance on measuring door thickness and other critical dimensions before ordering.
Additional Information
1. Install the lock on a timber swing door 40-70mm thick. → 2. Download the igloohome app and create an account. → 3. Pair the lock via Bluetooth. → 4. Under Account Settings, connect your Airbnb account. → 5. Link the lock to a listing and set PIN delivery timing (1-48 hours before check-in). → 6. Guest receives a time-limited PIN automatically before arrival. → 7. PIN expires at checkout — no manual action needed. For remote monitoring between stays, add the igloohome Wi-Fi Bridge for real-time notifications.
This lock is not certified for use on Australian fire-rated door assemblies. Fire-safety testing cannot be conducted independently of a specific fire door — certification must cover the complete certified doorset. For apartment fire doors and any NCC-regulated application, refer to Chapter 05 — Fire Door Smart Locks, our blog on what locks are compliant on apartment fire doors, and the fire rating certificates reference page for certified alternatives.
The lock is for timber swing doors only — not suitable for metal gates, glass doors, or sliding doors. The fixed 70mm backset is not adjustable. For doors 55-70mm thick, the multi-function button does not physically rotate — passage mode and keypad disabled mode must be activated via the app for these thicknesses. This is a mechanical constraint, not a fault. Confirm backset and thickness before ordering. See Chapter 02 — Measuring Your Door.
IP64 certifies complete protection against dust ingress (6) and resistance to water splash from any direction (4). The lock is suitable for sheltered external entry doors. IP64 does not cover sustained rain, high-pressure water jets, or immersion. Install under a roof overhang or awning wherever possible. For a plain-English explanation, see Chapter 11 — Australian Smart Lock Standards.
The auto relock function triggers when the door closes, but requires the magnetic sensor fitted to the door frame to detect door position. If the sensor is not installed, auto relock will not engage. As a fallback, the lock re-engages the bolt 30 seconds after an unlock via the multi-function button or Bluetooth if the door has not been opened — regardless of the auto relock setting. Configure the relock delay or disable it via the igloohome app.
1-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials, design, and workmanship of hardware components. Proof of purchase, a video clip of the defect, and proof of ownership are required for all claims. Software, consumables, cosmetic damage, and normal wear and tear are not covered. How to Activate and Deactivate Keypad Disabled Mode
Keypad Disabled Mode disables the touchscreen keypad and RFID reader, making both unresponsive from outside. It prevents any PIN code or RFID credential from unlocking the door. Bluetooth keys and the physical key remain active in this mode.
To activate: Press and hold the multi-function button on the inner body until you hear a series of descending beeps. When active, the keypad will double-flash when pressed but will not accept any input.
To deactivate from inside: Press and hold the multi-function button until beeps are heard, then open the door using the inner handle.
To deactivate from outside: Unlock via the igloohome app using a Bluetooth key, or use the physical key.
How to Activate and Deactivate Auto Relock
Auto Relock is enabled by default and ensures the lock re-engages the bolt automatically after the door is closed, regardless of which access method was used. This feature requires the magnetic sensor to be installed on the door frame.
Terry's recommends keeping Auto Relock enabled at all times unless there is a specific operational reason to disable it.
To configure via the igloohome app:
- On the lock's home screen, tap Settings in the bottom right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Auto Relock Timer.
- Select a delay duration, or tap Never Relock to disable the function.
How to Perform the Emergency 9V Jumpstart
If the AA batteries are fully depleted, a 9V alkaline battery can be used to temporarily power the lock and allow entry. This is for emergency access only — replace the AA batteries immediately afterwards.
- Hold the two terminals of the 9V battery firmly against the two contact points on the outer face of the lock below the keypad.
- You will hear a series of beeps and the keypad will light up when contact is made.
- While maintaining contact with the 9V battery, enter your PIN code followed by the unlock icon on the keypad.
- You must complete the unlock within 20 seconds of the keypad lighting up.
- Ensure the 9V battery has sufficient charge — a depleted 9V battery will not provide enough power.
