Security, Alarms and Lock Behaviour
These are the behaviours that decide how the lock feels to live with day to day, and they are the ones most often asked about after installation. Every figure below is taken from the Installers and User Guide.
Security Lockout
After a set number of consecutive wrong PIN, RFID or fingerprint attempts, the lock sounds an alarm and locks out all keypad entry for a period. Both the alarm and the lockout get longer with each successive offence, so a persistent attacker is progressively shut out rather than simply delayed. The default trigger is 5 consecutive wrong attempts and can be changed over Bluetooth in the igloohome app.
A Bluetooth key or the mechanical key still opens the door while a lockout is running, so nobody is locked out of their own home by a mistyped code.
Keypad Disabled Mode
Blocks every outside credential - PIN, RFID and fingerprint - while leaving Bluetooth keys, the multi-function button, the inner handle and the mechanical key working. It can only be switched on while the lock is in the locked position. Battery, Power and Backup Access
- Powered by 8 x AA alkaline batteries, included in the box, rated at up to 18 months. For what that means in practice on an Australian front door, see realistic smart lock battery expectations.
- Battery brands matter, and igloohome names them. Use Duracell, Energizer or Panasonic alkaline AA only. igloohome specifically warns against Heavy Duty, Eveready, GP and rechargeable cells - these drop voltage under the motor load and give false low-battery warnings, shortened run time, and in some cases a lock that stalls mid-cycle. This is worth getting right; it is the cheapest reliability decision on the whole product.
- Low battery alert: below 20% the red LED pulses and short beeps sound on each lock or unlock. Below 10% you get four sets of two short beeps, which is the point to act. Battery level is also shown in the igloohome app whenever you connect over Bluetooth.
- 9V alkaline jumpstart: if the AA batteries are completely flat, hold a 9V alkaline battery against the two contact points on the outer face below the keypad. The keypad lights and beeps; keeping contact, enter your PIN followed by the unlock icon and complete the unlock within 20 seconds. Replace all eight AA batteries immediately afterwards. All five access methods on the Smart Mortice V2 + Fingerprint work fully offline, with no hub and no gateway. The igloohome Wi-Fi Bridge (sold separately) adds the three things that genuinely need an internet connection: remote unlock from anywhere, real-time push notifications on entry events, and Alexa voice control. The Bridge sits within 10m of the lock and connects to a 2.4GHz network only. The lock also joins a Samsung SmartThings home, which the legacy listing only touched on in passing. Once added, lock and unlock state appears alongside the rest of the household's connected devices and can be used in SmartThings routines - locking the front door as part of a "goodnight" scene, for instance. igloohome publishes the pairing steps at igloohome.co/integrations/smartthings. SmartThings control runs through the igloohome cloud, so it needs the Wi-Fi Bridge in place; it is not a substitute for it. My router only broadcasts one network name. Will the Bridge connect?

Before you open the screw bag
Measure the door and set aside only the screws and the shaft for your thickness band. The three shaft screw sets look similar in the bag and using the wrong length is the most common reason the two assemblies will not pull flush. The table is on page 7 of the Installers and User Guide.

How to Activate and Deactivate Keypad Disabled Mode
Keypad Disabled Mode makes the touchscreen keypad, the fingerprint reader and the RFID reader unresponsive, so no PIN, fingerprint or RFID credential can unlock the door from outside. Bluetooth keys and the physical key stay active.
Important: it can only be activated while the lock is in the locked position. Use a Bluetooth key or the physical key to get in from outside while the mode is running.
To activate: press and hold the multi-function button on the inner body until you hear a run of descending beeps. Once active, the keypad double-flashes when pressed but accepts no input.
To deactivate from inside: press and hold the multi-function button until the beeps sound, then open the door using the inner handle.
To deactivate from outside: unlock through the igloohome app with a Bluetooth key, or use the physical key.
On doors 55-70mm thick the multi-function button does not rotate, so use the igloohome app to toggle this mode instead.
How to Activate and Deactivate Auto Relock
Auto Relock is enabled by default and re-engages the bolt automatically once the door closes, whichever access method was used. It requires the magnetic door sensor supplied in the box to be installed on the door frame - without it the function has no way to detect that the door has closed and will never trigger. Terry's recommends leaving Auto Relock enabled unless there is a specific operational reason not to.
To configure in the igloohome app: on the lock's home screen, tap Settings in the bottom right corner. Scroll down and tap Auto Relock Timer. Choose a delay duration, or tap Never Relock to disable the function.
Note: even with Auto Relock disabled, the lock still re-engages 30 seconds after a multi-function button or Bluetooth unlock if the door has not been opened in that time.
How to Register a Fingerprint
Fingerprints are registered through the igloohome app, so make sure you are within Bluetooth range of the lock before you start. In the app, go to Access and tap +Access, then select Fingerprint. Read the on-screen instructions, tap Next, and name the fingerprint entry. Wait for the fingerprint module on the outer face to flip open - you will hear a long beep. Place the finger on the scanner three times as the app instructs. Four ascending tones confirm a successful registration and the module closes automatically. Tap Done in the app to finish.
Tip: register two fingers per person. If the module does not open when tapped during normal use, check the lock is not in Keypad Disabled Mode or a security lockout, and make sure the module surface is clean and unobstructed.
How to Perform the Emergency 9V Jumpstart
If the AA batteries are fully depleted, a 9V alkaline battery can temporarily power the lock so you can get in. This is for emergency access only - replace the AA batteries immediately afterwards. Hold the two terminals of the 9V battery firmly against the two contact points on the outer face of the lock, below the keypad. You will hear a run of beeps and the keypad will light up when contact is made. Keeping the 9V battery in contact, enter your PIN code followed by the unlock icon on the keypad. The unlock must be completed within 20 seconds of the keypad lighting up. Make sure the 9V battery has plenty of charge - a depleted one will not supply enough current.
After gaining entry: replace all 8 AA alkaline batteries. Use Duracell, Energizer or Panasonic alkaline AA only - never Heavy Duty, Eveready, GP or rechargeable cells. See what to do when a smart lock battery dies.

- Gather the required documents: your original invoice, a video clip clearly showing the defect, and proof of ownership.
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries - your authorised igloohome reseller - using the Returns & Warranty page above. Warranty claims must be lodged from the country of original purchase.
- igloohome may conduct diagnostic tests to determine the nature and cause of the defect. Their assessment is final.
- If the claim is approved within the warranty period, igloohome will repair the product, replace it with the same or closest available product, or refund the amount paid - at igloohome's discretion. Repaired or replaced products continue to be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period.
- Any replaced or fully refunded product becomes the property of igloocompany and must be returned in accordance with their returns policy. Delete all personal data from the device before returning it.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover, and will be voided by, any of the following:
- Damage from impact, shock, accident, fire, flood, earthquake, lightning or other acts of nature
- Exposure to sand, extreme temperatures or environmental conditions outside the product's specifications
- Battery corrosion or chemical corrosion
- Abuse, mishandling, improper installation, improper operation, or failure to follow igloohome's care and maintenance recommendations
- Use of incorrect electrical supply or voltage
- Damage caused by software, apps, accessories or peripheral equipment not supplied or approved by igloohome
- Unauthorised alteration, modification, adjustment or tampering
- Replacement of parts with components not supplied or approved by igloohome
- Missing accessories or external parts, unless reported within 3 calendar days of original retail purchase
- Cosmetic damage to the outer surface or finish (e.g. scratches, dents, stains)
- Deterioration due to normal wear and tear, including corrosion or rust
- Damage occurring during transit, delivery, packing, unpacking, or installation not carried out by an igloohome-authorised installer
- Non-failure problems such as reception/incompatibility issues, software updates, password resets, routine servicing, battery changes, cleaning or product demonstrations
- Software and consumable items, even if packaged or sold with the product
- Minor imperfections within design specifications that do not materially affect functionality
