Lockwood's part numbers look cryptic until you know the pattern - then they tell you exactly what you are looking at. There are two schemes to know: one for the locks themselves, and one for service parts like this keypad.

Three things: the spindle (worn drive flats are the most common hidden fault - the SP10000-127ZP spindle pack is cheap insurance), the mounting plate (SPDX-324 for DX keypads, SPDX-520 for 002 systems), and the latch alignment against the strike - on a 530 system the latch itself is a replaceable kit (530-12SC at 60mm, with 70mm and 127mm options). Ten minutes of checking while everything is apart saves a second visit.
Not always. Paint overspray, mortar dust and salt build-up are the usual culprits, and a clean (soft damp cloth, mild soap, never solvents) often restores the action. - Everbrass finishes: up to 25 years against corrosion, tarnishing and discolouration.
- Stainless steel, polished stainless steel, chrome plating and anodised finishes: typically up to 10 years.
- PVD and VIVID finishes: typically up to 10 years.
- Symmetry range finishes: typically up to 5 years.
- Decorative finishes (Antique Copper, Architectural Bronze, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Aged Brass, Polished Brass, Satin Brass and related variants): typically up to 2 years against corrosion.
